how to keep ayu posters in good condition?

i have just gotten my guilty poster.. even though i didn't get guilty from the local hmv cos they didn't have the pretty pony~pretty pony~pretty pony~ press one. in fact, i got 2! thanks to a friend working in HMV... and i realized my a best 2 white and black poster are still rolled up and placed in the corner of my room... :P

anyone knows any good way to keep these posters so they dun get eaten up by silver fishes or corrode or something like that?

sexysaucestar 25th January 2008 06:18 AM

I would suggest framing them, or keeping them rolled up inside poster tubes (if you don't mind having them rolled up for all that time).

zoomzoom 25th January 2008 07:51 AM

Yea I got all of mine in tubes.

KuroixShiroi_Namida 25th January 2008 07:58 AM

I took my posters to some shop to contact them!

sibby 25th January 2008 09:49 AM

i should get something to cover them. i forgot all about silver fishes and all @~@

LacusClyne 25th January 2008 11:09 AM

try laminating them, it's the safest way to prevent them fom getting crumbled/folded/yellowish. (^_^)

Qt Mashi 25th January 2008 12:31 PM

yeah i was thinking of laminating it, i hope they won't make any bubbles

im sooo annoyed~~ i ordered my poster with the album, and only the albums came not the posters!!!

Earth_maiden 25th January 2008 12:50 PM

I got some of my Ayu posters contacted, the rest are still rolled up in poster tubes. I want to get them all contacted eventually (except for my A-Nation 06 poster, I want to get that framed).

salmon 25th January 2008 01:00 PM

What i do is i will buy a drawing tube holder and put them in,
I will roll those poster and use a small paper to wrap around and then tape it.
If you had silica gel, you can put in to prevent from environmental / climate challenge.

If you need one silica gel, let me know.

For nice poster, I will frame them up :D

lol, I was going to ask the same question :D
The only printing that I found (not even close to me), who do it charge 12€ per poster :thud

And, I don't understand the difference between laminate and contact. (My poor english doesn't help :headache)

Diana 25th January 2008 02:06 PM

Everyone frames them... So that could be good :D

My Secret poster is still in there ._.

philh 25th January 2008 04:58 PM

Unless what I am suggesting is 'contacted', I would suggest to get them framed by getting
two large plexy glass equal in size yet a little bigger than the poster and placing the poster in between. Then you can either mount it on your wall by using the four corners bolts or just hang it after screwing them together. That way you preserve the poster's original condition other than discoloration by exposure to daylight or sunlight. :)

ohsixthirty 26th January 2008 01:12 AM

mine are still in a poster tube except one that i framed. i'd like to frame the others, but its expensive since all the posters seem to be an odd size in comparison to standard frame sizes here.

i've never thought of laminating them though...is that safe and will it preserve them for a long long long time?

ayuMIV 26th January 2008 01:31 AM

Good ideas of saving Ayu's posters!! Thanks.
More than all I liked "contacting" (placing between 2 pieces of the glass) and framing (placing in the BIG;) frame). I think this is the safest way if you want to mount it in the wall or something like that.

sibby 26th January 2008 05:41 AM

framing is like. EXPENSIVE. i should start saving up haha. but my guilty poster is double-sided -.-'' maybe i wont sell my other one away :D

TITANIC 26th January 2008 12:16 PM

how about use frame???

Meat Pao 26th January 2008 01:44 PM

All my posters go through a procedure

1) Soft laminate them (Wun make it crumpled and whatnot. Provided it makes it waterproof too)
2) Framing (Make it stand properly xD Can also make it look nice when hung on wall. I do mine at Pearl Center at Orchard Road)

Yeah, that's the only problem. Framing can get expensive, especially if you have A LOT of posters. (Then again, it's not like it has to be a super pretty frame.)

It shouldn't do any harm to keep your posters rolled up. Just know that if you plan on taking them out after a while, they'll be "used to" the rolled position, so it will be more difficult to lay them out flat. ;)

...you know, nothing lasts forever. =\
Hm. Maybe it's better that I don't buy posters. Less worry on making them last long.

you should be able to do that at normal photocopy shops

me0wie 27th January 2008 05:33 AM

thanks for all the suggestions! i think i will consider laminating them... i think framing is abit too expensive.. plus i dun think i have space to store the framed up posters... do you guys all get your posters online too? no where in singapore sells them right..?

Qt Mashi 27th January 2008 05:46 AM

anyone wanna take pics of their framed or contacted posters? i want to see how it looks!

YotaLM21 27th January 2008 06:28 AM

silver fishes? whaa?? these fishes?

i kept all mine in their tubes, only BLUE BIRD's poster is on a frame...iŽll post a pic later

*edit/update*

@Qt Mashi

here's the pic of my framed BLUE BIRD poster: a black aluminum frame, 2 pieces of glass, one in the front and one in the back

http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/9...n041tq3.th.jpg

that sort of makes the illusion that the poster is hovering XD....plus it makes it look a lot more elegant

YotaLM21 30th January 2008 06:01 PM

double post :/ ....... sorry :(

me0wie 31st January 2008 02:43 AM

thanks for the pictureS! its really pretty! i wonder how much it'd cost to frame up one poster like this in sg... am pretty broke and i've just gotten my bonus. part of it went to pre-ordering the tour of secret dvd and the gold & silver album... :(

Qt Mashi 31st January 2008 03:59 AM

wow thanks for the pics, that does look very good!! i want to do that too~~

Thanks God i didn't hear that such thing could live in my country

sibby 2nd February 2008 06:59 AM

another reason why i dont want it framed and hung is that.

IT MIGHT FADE. i swear i have a bad experience with fading posters. @~@

maybe i should really buy a tube @~@

xiaou-xijiang 2nd February 2008 08:10 AM

I frame mine. :yes though lamanating it first may stop any fading, yay know?

KuroixShiroi_Namida 2nd February 2008 11:08 AM

I'm saving up to laminate all my posters now. Framing is too expensive for me as somebody said before, the sizes are all odd.

sibby 2nd February 2008 05:32 PM

but i also heard laminating may. change the posters colour? tell us how it went after undergoing the process of lamination!! :D

Laminating shouldn't affect the color of the poster.
However, even if you laminate, the color will fade if you leave the poster in the sun, etc.

rikku411 4th February 2008 09:37 PM

^ My room is like always like 24 hrs of darkness xD, but I definitely want to laminate mine or frame it.

When I get that beautiful RAINBOW poster it's definitely being laminated.

Why must posters be so vulnerable :weep
