[NEWS] Hong Kong's Celebrity Sex Scandal
 
I'm not sure if anyone wants to discuss about this, but there's a celebrity sex scandal involving Edison Chen and his ex girlfriends (who also happen to be celebrities) that has been on the news in Hong Kong.

The female artists that currently have been affected are: Gillian Chung (of Twins), Bobo Chan and Cecilia Cheung.

While HK police have been trying to catch the source, more pictures were released today and there are rumours that even more will be released tomorrow.

I'm not allowed to post any links to the pictures (so if you're curious - go find them on your own) but here's some of the media's reports + Edison's apology video.

HONG KONG - Photos purportedly showing a Hong Kong actor partially nude with several starlets were copied from his computer when it was serviced last year and later distributed over the internet, police said.

The photographs, seemingly of actor and singer Edison Chen in bed with singer Gillian Chung, along with suggestive images of actress Cecilia Cheung, were recently posted online, sparking a media frenzy in the celebrity-mad former British colony.

While Chung's company, Emperor Entertainment Group, initially said the photograph of the normally squeaky-clean star was a digital fake, Hong Kong police said some 1,300 private shots of celebrities had been stolen from a faulty personal computer belonging to an individual who took it to a computer shop for servicing.

"A person had taken his computer to be fixed, but during the maintenance period, someone used dishonest means to take some information from the computer and distributed this information indiscriminately to others," assistant police commissioner Wong Fook-chuen told reporters.

While the police gave no specific names, Hong Kong's Ming Pao newspaper reported the photographs belonged to Edison Chen, 27.

"A person in the shop found hidden inside (Chen's) computer, confidential nude pictures of naked female stars, which were then secretly copied," Ming Pao reported, quoting an anonymous source.

The computer shop was subsequently raided by police officers in a widening investigation across the territory, which has led to eight arrests for infringing obscene material laws, and the seizure of over 1,000 explicit images including six women, four of whom were public figures, the police said.

In a statement on his blog over the weekend, Chen criticised some of the recent media coverage and widespread publishing of the images.

"I would like for u (sic) to respect the situation that everyone is in and report the truth to the fullest."

He didn't clarify whether the images had been faked or stolen, but his manager said Chen would co-operate with the police investigation.

Hong Kong's police commissioner, Tang King-shing, said the case was being treated seriously and warned the possession and distribution of such images might be illegal.

But internet users and activists have since challenged this position, saying the police were being overly harsh.

I read the latest news...the uploader of the photos call himself 'kira' and he just uploaded new pics and that a video clip will be coming soon. He also challeged the HK police 'catch me if you can'

This is really bad for the female artists...bobo chan who is retired from the industry was about to get married to a wealthy man but the wedding got postponed to don't know when...cecilia is married with a kid and don't know if the marriage will be ok...gillian's innocent image is pretty much destroyed, her career is at stake. I dunno if I should feel bad for these female artists...why would they agree to take these pics in the first place...-__-

There was a list of possible female artists that might have nude pics with him. They were once worked with and had rumor with edison. THANK GOD ayu chose shawn yue over this edison for distance love or else there's a chance she could be on the list.

The only girl that has an actual career is Gillian but she's one of the cash cows for her company so I don't think they'll will drop her that soon. Bobo already left the industry and was supposed to marry a rich guy this year (but reportedly, he broke up with her) and Cecilia's already married and has a kid.

(10th day) Yesterday, there is new development in the “Nude Picture Scandal” which has shocked the entire Hong Kong. Gillian Chung continues to be dragged down by the scandal. There are rumours that commercial sponsors wants to discontinue their business relations. Yesterday, Mani came out to clear up the rumours.

She also expressed that Gillian accepted three new commercial and will continue to work in 2008. Unfortunately, another victim of the scandal, Bobo Chan was rumoured to have her wedding cancelled. Her 2008 wedding dream was shattered. If the circulating rumours from sources are correct, then we are really sympathetic towards her.

The scandal is not dying down yet. Yesterday, there are several new pictures which look like it is related to the scandal. The content is more shocking than the previous batches. It is causing quite a stir. It is rubbing salt into the victims’ wounds. It has become unbearable (for them).
It is the tenth day of the scandal and Gillian has not left her resident for 240 hours.

There are reports, those advertisers which Gillian are spokesperson for and the film '梅 蘭 芳'
which she is a member, are discontented with Gillian’s image. They want to pull out her commercials and cancel her film roles. But 梅葆玖, the son of 梅蘭芳, clarified that they would not re-cast Gillian’s role or re-film Gillian’s part.

Currently, Gillian is personally the spokesperson of slimming product '瘦得起' and Adidas sporting apparel. With her partner, Charlene Choi under the Twins brand, they are spokesperson for: Mentholatum lip balm, Regene beauty products, France wedding, Xbox 360 and others.

They also sing the theme-song for the Hong Kong Disneyland. Yesterday, EEG management Mani denied that Gillian is losing her advertisers’ support. She also announced: “All of her advertisement are not affected.

The sponsors love Twins. They are very supportive of Gillian.
Twins just accepted three new commercial sponsors! They are beauty products, jewellery and female products in mainland China. The pay is very good. After CNY, they start their work.

Hong Kong Disneyland’s representative announced: “The collaboration of Disney and Twins was a one-time cooperation during CNY. We invited her to our press conference earlier and that plan will continue.

Edison’s ex-girlfriend Bobo originally planned her wedding for August this year. She has been dragged down by the scandal and there are rumours that her boyfriend Phillip (金紫耀) has cancelled the wedding and ended their relationship all together. Bobo has packed up her belonging and went back to her family. Her relationship and reputation has taken two hard hits. She is spending her day crying.

Yesterday morning there were 209 naked photographs circulated online, including those of suspected Gillian and suspected Rachel Ngan. There were three sets on suspected Gillian including one set in red swim suits. As the ealier two sets of photographs shows the female lead had straight shoulder length hair and with the change in hairstyle, it is obvious the male and female leads have associated with one another for at least a year.

Reporter researched on this matter and discovered that the rumours on Gillian and Edison started in early 2003. At that time, coincidentally Gillian had straight shoulder length hair. In September of 2006, Gillian had permed her hair curly which was entirely different from her debut which at that time the image was for a young and clean look.

Coincidentally, Edison and Vinchy started out in July, 2006 but before that Edison was aggresively pursuing Vincy. That same year in October, the two of them were on holiday in America and was photographed hugging and kissing on the streets. It makes one feel that Edison was still secretly involved with Gillian behind Vincy's back.

Gillian and Alex's rumours started in October 2003. They were rumoured to have gone on a trip to Japan in 2004 and to Switzerland in 2005. The timing coincide with the period that had rumours linking Edison and Gillian being together.

In addition, one of the female's photographs that were circulated yesterday resembled Rachel Ngan. It could be clearly seen that the suspect Edison holding a DV filming. The calender in the background of the photograph indicated the date to be February 2006 which suggested the date of filming. Coincidentally this period Edison was pursuing Vincy.

Aside from suspected celebrites naked photographs, former singer Candice Chen was also implicated in this case. Candice and Edison's elder sister Tricia Chan were in the same batch of newcomers.
As known, Edison and Candice got to know one another at Tricia's birthday party, became close and secretly dated for a short period of time. It was also claimed that Cathy Leung was also one of the female's in the photographs but she stepped out to clarify that she is not one of them.

In addition, one of those celebrities implicated; Cecilia Cheung, whose father-in-law Patrick Tse was seen going to Deborah's house last night. It is unsure if he's attending the re-union dinner or attending a family meeting.

Edison didn't manage to cheat .. He was going to fix his computer and the honkey found his computer had these pictures, and saved them without Edison's premission.

And that honkey to fix the Edison's computer sent these pictures to his friends, and then his friends sent to other... and so forth. Now nobody knows how many people have these pictures and videos.

wouldn't work by deleting them cause there are ways to retrieve deleted data.

i mean...if you are an ambitious computer repairer who is in need for money to pay back millions (HKD) in credit card debt and you have access to a celebrity's laptop, would you go in great depths and scrap every last incriminating data onto your own computer/storage? LOL :D:D

but seriously, like someone said, it's their personal lives. however, HK audiences are really conservative about this stuff.

It surely sucks to be Edison and these girls. They all had such clean images, like most Chinese stars. Well, whatever he does with other girls is none of our business.

I hope this isn't going to affect Cecilia's marriage! I'm hoping that the photos were old pics because that would suck for Nicholas Tse!

i definitely think that these celebrities are stupid. as a celebrity, you should know that maintaining of one's image is the most important thing for your career. taking nude photos is definitely not the way one wants to document your career. it's just another ingredient for the recipe of disaster!

Out of all the girls Bobo is the most to feel bad for

Oh please... I doubt he drugged them. I bet they were both drunk. Why are people blaming Edison anyway? It's not like he's the one who leaked the pictures and those girls were stupid enough to take pictures like this knowing that they are celebrities and that leaks are really easy and fast in the web.

I don't understand why people blame Edison! Even before this scandal, he was known for having many girlfriends. He's just that kind of guy who really likes girls and I'm sure the girls who slept with him knew that.
