What's this about a Koda Scandal?
Um, i was looking at another thread saying Koda was kicked off the Kose contract and that Avex stopped promoting Kingdom, and i saw something about Kuu making some kind of "statement" or "scandal" ....im really confused, what exactly is going on?
|
Check the Koda Kumi thread :P
|
^That doesn't help :P
She made a comment on a radio show about how she told her manager she should have kids soon since she's 35, and after that age women's amniotic fluids go rotten. That was basically it to my recollection. Not really as bad as you might think. |
lol ok well i feel dumb XD i didnt see anything in the threads and i just kept getting confused XDD

This is what she said: "Mothers' amnion fluid is rotten once they turn around 35. ...I mean it. It gets dirty." |
kuu is overtalkaktive..
poor kuu.. |

it sounds really silly. i'm not a Kuu fan but i can't see why what she said is so bad...
|
^maybe its really sensitive case that happen in japan..so there is so many people angry with her statement..
i think koda regret what she said too...japanese really respect their culture and love their country so much..and i think public apology that koda held is really coming from her heart and she sincere about it... |

YEah Bondigo pretty much described what happened XD I am surprised Avex cut her promotion .... That is extreme o_O! Well I guess it could've been worse >_<!
Hm.. At the beginning when I thought about it I was like what was so offensive but after awhile I kinda see why it is offensive. I don't think anyone likes being told that their insides are bad >_<! BUt I honestly think Kuu slipped that out by accident. She should be forgiven for it everyone makes mistakes and I doubt she would say something like this on purpose, especially when she is 35 XD. |
This story is CRAZY. (I felt so bad for her during her apology, though.) Isn't she overtalkative, though? She probably kept on talking and didn't realize that those words would come back and, for the moment, ruin her career.
I think I heard that the imperial family got really offended by her words, only because their daughter kept trying to have a child for years and couldn't, or something like that... |
It's not a scandal. It's just Japanese people being TOO sensitive and overreacting on an inappropriate sentence by koda. Slap them! :eviltongu:eviltongu:eviltongu
|
^ I don't think they're being too sensitive about it o_o If someone told me my insides were turning rotten I would do the same thing. I dunno thats my opinion tho. It'll probably die down soon tho anyways =P!
|
it's bad for her because she won't be able to do her job to the fullest extent she is now...
that's how it is for every artist, and everyone who isn't in total control of their career, and even for some who are. Kids are a big deal, everywhere. It's sad the way they are reacting...and I do agree, she should not have said that...I can see how it would be offensive...especially to women who do have problems conceiving and are already sesitive to the subject...but...I don't know, I hadn't heard about this either so, thanks for the info guys :) |

It shows how people's lives depends on the stupidity some pop star says... :no
Preganat 36yo woman, listening to "FREAKY" suddenly hears about koda's trash loudmouth and thinks: "OMG, my fetus is going to die just because koda kumi said my amniotic fluid is rotten. That witch, I hate her" overreaction and oversensitivity does describe it well enough ;) |
Well, here's an update on the Koda Kumi scandal.
Reactions to Koda's apology On Thursday, Kumi Koda appeared in an exclusive interview on Fuji TV's "FNN Super News" to apologize for a remark she made on "All Night Nippon" last week. She had stated that "when women turn 35, their amniotic fluid goes rotten," leading to many angry reactions from the public. During Thursday's interview, she attempted to explain her comment and tearfully apologized for the harm she caused. Not everyone was convinced, however. An informal poll taken after the broadcast through Sankei Sports' website indicated that 81% of the viewers felt the apology was insufficient, while only 9% said it was enough. Fuji TV later announced that by midnight on Thursday, it had received almost 300 phone calls about the broadcast. About a third of them carried heavy criticism, such as saying that Koda's apology felt insincere. Only 9 of the callers defended the singer. According to Video Research Ltd., Koda's appearance did not boost ratings. Her apology drew ratings of 10.1%, the same as the average for the show's second half. (Tokyograph, Feb 8, 2008) |
^ ok now the media is just milking kuu's situation =_= thats really rude. I am pretty sure they KNEW the results of Kuu's apology and how unforgiving the public will be. And then they just had to mention how the ratings were =_= I Don't like Kuu but she doesn't deserve to be used as some doll to get tv ratings..... She apologized and it should just be left as that >_>
|
Was Kumi trying to sound smart or something? Because I've never really heard of someone saying amniotic fluid in a normal conversation before. XD

they take things like this a bit more extreme than the US does...it someone like Britney or Paris said this, they would just get made fun of on The Soup, SNL, and Best Week Ever then everyone would forget....
poor Kuu....i can see why many people are offended with it avex's actions just goes to show that they arent all just about the money |
Quote:
|
^ well it can kinda go either way...i just meant that they arent shoving her in the public eye during this to make tons of money, like i thought they would

Well, if they put her on TV or radio, there's a small chance she might say something idiotic AGAIN.

i didnt know wat the scandal was from the other kuu thread but after reading about it here, i kinda feel bad for her but at the same time you cant flame the other party by saying they are oversensitive or being jerks. this kind of stuff always happens in the workplace. one wrong statement can offend someone and you get called to the Human Resources department the next day. everyones different and they are sensitive to different things. its a lil overboard of what happened to kuu, but gotta be more careful with what you say
|
i hate how people are comparing what she said to what happens in america. japanese culture, believe it or not, is DIFFERENT from american culture. i'm sorry if this is a shock to anyone. she's getting punished, and from my perspective it is a little overboard considering what she said, but people are obviously offended by it. so much so that actions are being taken. she'll bounce back, this will blow over soon enough. however, the "well compared to paris or britney" remakes need to be put to rest, she isn't "paris or britney" and she's not in america.

she already apologised & the public's not satisifed with it , I think it's pathetic . Can you imagine if she didn't & she just stayed slient about this matter ? |

I'm still having so much fun with this scandal :laugh |
^ lol! XD has it died down yet? =S She still sells a lot anyways lol I dunno why her fans are complaining about the anger of the Japanese >_< sells like nuts either way
|
ok.
i've been out of the loop for a while but...KUU! STUPID GIRL! Is this really gonna derail her career? I hope not. =[ |

I myself really don't think this sentence can make such a scandal like that. It's just a normal biology knowledge that she read on the newspaper....may be it is because of her attitude when she said it??
