Yeah, I think we should have one of these so that the sales and stuff aren't so.... all over the place.

I can't believe Arashi wacked Utada & Ken in the face :S . To sell over 100K of your single on the 1st day's insane . I never seen such a thing before to me that's .

It seems that except for the position hikki's single isn't doing well =\
and yuna's album will sell less than her previous and won't be #1... though WISH is way better than HEART. Those are turn in the plots.

I didn't expect anything from BoA but 6 is good for her as her new album will be released next week!

kumi's Kingdom dropped to 14 X_X out of the top 10 so quick.
BC was 7 weeks on the top 10, Kingdom just 3.

I guess most listeners are waiting for HEART STATION rather than chipping out some yen for the single.

I wonder how that album will end up doing, after all... it's been a few years since UB.

I think the album will be a strong seller... I'm thinking 750k? Or maybe a little lower...

750,000 seems like a bit much, but we'll see.

HEART STATION/Stay Gold at least will show that ayu's B&D/Pride wasn't a flop, it's exactly the same thing because people knew about the album already and it's just the same with HS/SG. B&D/Pride didn't flop, nor hikki's single.

The gap between ULTRA BLUE and HEART STATION isn't as huge as the ULTRA BLUE and DEEP RIVER one so it should do well. HS is releasing much sooner than I expected.

Oh well, I hope more that the album will do good!! Singles are blah. I never buy them. I just like them for remixes, instrumentals (and when it's being released the "new" song/s) lol.
Of course I want my artists to sell good with them still!

One of the reasons why BC managed to stay there so long was because not many artists release albums in January.

ARASHI kicked ass.....and it's only the first day. :lmfao Congrats to them. Hikki's sells are what I expected but I'm sure she'll get pass the 100k mark. She has long longevity on the charts. I blame EMI for not making this worthy of buying. No DVD, no B-side. no remixes. Just two Karaokes. That's not even worthy of being released as a single. It would have been best if EMI just released a Promotional Video. Anyway, I glad BoA's in the top 10. that's great considering that the album is coming out next week. I'm cheering for everyone on the charts [heheheh but mostly Hikki and BoA!]

Her peak was her debut single and then Precious. After that, it's been pretty much downhill. HEART mainly did well because of those 2 singles. WISH doesn't have any popular singles.

:hi5 I so with you! Everyone should be happy that she got that she got 4th on the charts. I mean, who knows. I could have debuted out of the top 10. Having the top position isn't everything. I think what matters most to the record label is the sales. But....that's just my opinion. :shrug

well Utada & Ken's new albums are gonna be out next month so I can understand why the sales this time round for both singles are not selling as much as their previous ones .

If I were 'smart' enough , I will definitely wait a few weeks or so & get my hands on their album instead of the singles . The same thing appiles to ayumi's Bold & Delicious/Pride . People would rather wait a few weeks or so before the album's out .

I don't buy singles as it's not worth it as much as I like certain artistes & etc . I rather save up $ & buy the albums instead .

I know which's a shame as even though I did not hear HEART , I have a feeling that WISH's much better but I don't think people like the fact that she decided to ditch the ballads & move onto a pop dance drive sound .

By next week or so, Kuu is gonna own Ayumi. lol [No offense] Like many others have said, prolly the reason why people haven't brought HS/SG as much is because they are probably waiting on the album. Hikki really didn't give people an incentive to buy the single other than 2 freakin' karaokes and adding karaokes to a single is an atuomatic thing these days. It shouldn't be no surprised that Thelma is ahead of Hikki. That song is the most popular female song of the year right now. [yea, i was surprised though but still.... lol] I just hope Thelma isn't one of those artists who's gonna become a One-hit-wonder. If so, i'll be highly pissed since she surpassed Hikki. :grumpy

Ack, like I say, Thelma is definately the next big thing for Japan, I think. And ... Toshiba gave us stickers with the single. :D

I don't think that 550,000 is a low number :o I would change it to barely 600,000 though XD

She is a singer 10 years, compared to other artists, and her peak past in 2001 and now it's 2008 but she still sell more than half a million for a studio album and one/or of the best selling female artists in Japan since her debut!

It's pretty amazing fit for a female singer that is around 10 years and her peak past couple (7) years ago, don't you think? That's really not fair to say she isn't =\

And 550,000 is just with CD+DVD and CD only without any limitations (except for the hot photobook :P), it's still charting though on the top 100 so it's not ending at 560,000 ^-^

kumi for example had her peak on 2005/2006! 2/3 years ago and she's a singer 7 years but her Kingdom sales won't be so far from GUILTY or Secret/A BEST 2 BLACK & WHITE... with a CD only CD+DVD, CD+2DVD limited edition+first press with a concert, PVs for all songs etc. Now laugh at ayu's "small" sales and success XD
Point is that ayu's sales/state aren't that far from kumi's and ayu been around longer and her peak was past 7 years ago ^-^.

It's bound to sell at least 800k. The Flavor Of Life single will assure it a spot in the Top 10 albums of the year, that's for sure.

She had 2 albums last year on the top 10 after 9 years being a singer, there were just 5 albums that sold more and only 2 of them were females (and 1 of them was Avril :P)
The thing I'm talking about is not that ayu's album sells the best or anything, the thing is that ayu is still one of the best selling females, after 10 years she's around.

Well BEST ~first things~ is her best selling album (like her sales went up until this album) and afterwards went just down between every album so this is the peak XD and saying it doesn't make me a bad fan, I buy kumi's albums and DVDs and support her and I wish I could see her concerts live too but I'm not rich yet :P but as I said I used kumi for example, I didn't say she is less successful or anything at all!

I only try to be fair between my favorite artists T_T

Arashi is full of fan girls T_T hikki won't get #1 because of them! well annoying.

Hmmm...you have a point about THE FACE. It seems that Ssweet Impact was the only strong stong single for the album while Winter Love was the strongest single for MIT. People are probably sketical about BoA's album now. The younger BoA needs to wake up inside of the new BoA and tell her she needs to go back to Korean and get superb songs/albums again. :rolleyes

kinda a no brainer that Arashi will be no.1 in the Oricon singles chart . Their 1st day sales's already 100K + which's insane .

I don't think she's lazy in performing & promoting her singles . I mean practically the whole of Japan knows who's she . She doesn't need a massive campaign to promote the singles . For the album , maybe .

I did expect a bit better first week sales, as even anytime reached 45 k in a week (and it was crap), and there is still almost 15 days before the album is released, might just be that they simply don't like the songs that much.

^Now that you mention it, kumi's anytime was released a week before Kingdom and it's just 1 a-side and it had greater sales than HS/SG... awww :( I liked HS/SG more though.
