"Boys and Girls featured in Girls' Generation's Jpop Compilation Album

The girls of "Girls' Generation" has made a j-pop compilation album - featuring their favorite jpop songs. Among these included are Ayumi Hamasaki, Koda Kumi, BoA, Namie Amuro, YUI, Mika Nakashima, AAA, Tohoshinki. m-flo, Do as Infinity, ELT, Yuna Ito, hiro, Toki Asako, Hiroshi Tamaki, mink, Chemistry and Jonte.

Yoona of Girls' Generation chose "Boys & Girls" and another song by Hiroshi Tamaki.

The collection comes in a two disc set - 9 tracks each - one song picked by each girl on each disc (totaling two songs per girl)

The concept of this album is actually not what you think.

Girls' Generation aka SNSD / So Nyeo Shih Deh [I think] selected the Japanese songs that they liked best and put them on a compilation.

However, it was discussed in another forum that they would not be singing the tracks and they will simply be released as is. This is simply a compilation and nothing more than that.

Oh, So the songs are not being resung?

Yes. I read about this a month ago, and the SNSD fans thought the same thing until it was like "Yeah guys, this is just a "SNSD BEST" of J-pop.

I agree, like ... If Ayu made a compilation of cpop songs, yet didn't actually resing any of them, it would just be friggin weird. So yeah, I agree with Ruler on this one.

Y'know, now with this new information come to light I actually feel the same way! It's like this group is endorsing other... band's works? That's like if I released a compilation record of songs I like but erm, I have nothing to do with it, haha.

compilation albums are most of the time made for money..but it's good to see them include ayu songs into their album.

Avex and SM TOWN probably both took advantage of the fact that the girls are at the top of the top in Korean right now to release this. I don't think many people will buy it though.
