and about Ayu, I think her smoking isn't a rumor. she does smoke, unless you are in complete denial & ignore several photos with her holding a "pen" :o
her being bossy it's not obviously known wheter it's true or not, but she has said she likes to be in control in everything about her career so I'm sure she's bossy to an extent. often female stars of her caliber can be "difficult" :P

bossy is a nice way to put it tho, there are plenty of rumors that behind the scenes Ayu's a full-blown tyrant who fires people at whim & demands a lot.

I haven't heard that many rumors about jpop stars in general tho.

there are some flying around about the idol groups, like H!P & JE. how they actually themselves make a lot less money than "regular" artists & how their private lives are being controlled by the companies with long lists of rules.

I've heard a rumor about TK, the rumor is that he sleeps with all the female singers he works with. with singers like hitomi , namie , ami suzuki and etc. tho TK has married two of the singers he has worked with, so obviously there has been something going on in the studio besides just work ...

uh yeah, I haven't really heard any rumours about artists. Unless you count the thing about Hikki and her bear, Kuma Chang... :innocent

Well, I remember that someone on AHS wrote that smoking would make ayu's hearing worse, so he assumed that she probably stopped. On the other hand the only pic I've seen of her holding a cigarette, was probably taken during the ARENA TOUR 2002 backstage. Because I think ayu was wearing the white, long Chinese dress from that tour. It was held after she got troubles with hearing though. But maybe she stopped some time after (if she ever stopped)?
ayu seems like an occasional smoker to me. There are hardly any pics with her smoking. While some other artists even smoke in PVs etc.

I still doubt about Ayu smoking...

but about Ayu being pregnant?or the rumour of abortion she did?or about some kind of bad infection she got?

I don't think the smoking thing is rumor, because as someone has already said, it's been pretty much confirmed. I have heard about her being majorly bossy and a huge diva though. I'd like to think it wasn't true, but then again, it tends to happen a lot with stars as famous as her.

I think Ayu admits herself that she's control freak--whether to the extent of a tyrant is unknown (I'm biased coz I'm also a control freak, so I can't say anything).

I heard something about Mr. Johnny molesting the boyband members...I hope they aren't true. And also how idols (johnnys and H!P) make less money and their lives is totally controlled.

And more people smoke in Japan than in America. Honestly, I'm not surprised if Ayu smokes, although I don't see her smoking that much (or she's just better at hiding it). Again, I'm one of those people that think if a XX artist smokes, they should try to curb the habit, but ultimately it's none of my business what they do with their bodies.

Um sorry, but how does wearing an identical/similar bracelet be deemed as being a copycat? I mean... this entertainment industry is so BIG that you really can't be soooo unique without ever getting complained that you have copied something from another artiste.

Besides, if I were Jolin and I heart the bracelet that much, why not use it? It's not like Ayu got super-duper famous cos of that that it has become a symbol to Ayu... it's just a piece of Jewel.

Haha, it's the Jolin copies Ayu thing again. I personally think for the HANABI Episode II PV, Jolin TRULY DID COPY (and I really mean COPY) the concept of the PV over to her own PV (with the song title about some Lemon Grass thing). But I think that's all. I realise they have many fashion similarities, but Jolin has publicly acknowledged that she admires Ayu and her fashion sense, hence explaining the bulk of similarities.

Why Jolin does her nails too is because of her influence by Japanese Fashion, in particular Ayu's. Yup, though Jolin claims she designs the nails herself (which I think is total BS because she can't possibly design ALL OF IT and I've seen making of videos where she actually has a nail artiste, so this is definitely nonsense). Other than that, yup, I just think people are nitpicking.

There's also a period of time where there was this whole Ayu and Madonna copycat thing too. That was really absurd but hey, there are fashion styles that are TIMELESS right? THEY DO WORK, so what's wrong?

Obviously, there's some comparison that it just random like both of them wearing a black dress, having sort of similar hairstyle. But I do believe the director of her video that looks like HANABI II took the idea of Ayu's PV.

Anyway. I don't think she's necessarily a "copycat" or whatever. It certainly doesn't affect me or keep me away from her music. Besides, we can do the same thing with Ayu and Madonna. Although, there's tons of random comparison too between Ayu and Madonna.

It's true that H!P artist don't make that much money. It's also true that their lives are somehow controlled. One thing for sure: They can't date. That's why when they get caught with a guy, it becomes a huge scandal. But yay for Miki-sama for breaking the rules! <3

It is a known and accepted fact that he is gay in the gay community of Japan. At least that's what my gay Japanese friends told me :D One of my friends even swears he saw Hirai at a gay parade in Tokyo.
