Do you guys think it'll be a better idea if Ayumi and Utada becomes a band when one day Ayumi can't really go on all by herself anymore?

I personally don't think a band could possibly happen since they're under different labels...but it would be pretty cool if negotiations are sought out, and avex manages to buy one of Utada's compositions. Then they give it to Ayu to write the lyrics for it, and then sing it. It would be a new style for Ayu...but it'd be nothing as radical as Bold & Delicious :P.

A collaboration would be interesting, but a full out group? Nah I wouldn't like it.
I do have to say though, Hikki's the strongest overall.

It wouldn't work, because Ayumi wants to have control over everything.

No cos half of the vocals would be crap and half the cover would need to be covered for me to enjoy it.

There's nothing inconsiderate about it. Maybe the original post didn't exactly have the proper words, but the meaning was most likely this:

People discuss whatever they feel about it, but there's no need to ridicularize the intention of the poster. If you hate Hikiki, or you think ayu will never be unpopular, or that a group with both would be a disaster, you can talk about that giving reasons.

If they did a duet for a song, that might be okay, but still they're very different in styles.

I like Hikki's old style more than I like her current stuff. So no. I just think it wouldn't work, or would be really weird because I don't think their voices would complement each other.

That's because it was a completely standard single. There were no b-sides and it had already been revealed that 'HEART STATION' and 'Stay Gold' would be featured on Utada's new album. Besides, if you look at her album sales right now, you'd see she's doing not too shabby.

I've got a better idea, Shiina Ringo and Ayu ;D Well anyways, it would be pretty weird. Maybe a collab could occur but still, other than that I can't see much else occuring.

I think it would be fun, to collaborate once like with Ayu X KEIKO, I loved that duo. Though I really don't think Ayu and Hikki's voices would match, they're both great singers but they have completely different styles, in which I think wouldn't mix too well.
Also I don't think Ayu would be so desperate as to run to Hikki if she lost popularity among the fans. And as others said she's a perfectionist and wouldn't want others to get in her way all the time. And even if Ayu became desperate I think she'd rather go to Madonna haha jsut for the fun of it

Back to the topic. Nah ayu+hikki (or hikki+ayu) will never exist permanently. A duet will be super. But they really have to sort out the harmony part first. Using hikki's composition + ayu's lyric = song... That will be a super idea tho. A unique melody + feminine writing gives me excitement :D.

So once they sort out how to blend their voices together, that unique song will be ready like a hot cake :D

But back to Ayu and Utada, I still say that there's an issue with the harmonizing...their voices are just too different. You got one person with a smooth laid back voice, and then another with crazy vibrato and a wild voice...it just wouldn't work out :no...at least, that's what I think.

No, it would be scrapping the bottom of the barrel if they collaborated. Simply because they are both insanely good in their own right and by joining up it would be like a desperate push to stay on top.

Either way, as much as I like Ayumi (why else would I still be here?), Utada is in a league of her own. Therefore I wouldn't be too keen on a collaboration.

I think they would onyl bring each other down. Ayu and Utada are both very very good on their own but that doesnt mean that they will be good if they work together. Their music is so diffrent.
