These are the lyrics as I hear them. However, the mix for the rip which leaked is incredibly clear, so I'm almost certain these are entirely accurate (with the exception of layout & Kanji choice). Again, nobody can be sure until the official lyrics are released.

Actually, she means you (singular) are both (1) stronger and (2) happier. I apologize; I can see how that might not be clear. I'll play with my wording a bit more once the lyrics are officially printed.

I think she's talking about not only that, but also about losing her longtime friend to suicide, her X-year long relationship with Tomoya, and maybe even her #1 streak. The past year was really rough on Ayu; she lost a lot of long-lasting things. I can see how these lyrics can apply to any of these things, which is probably why it's called something as all-encompassing as "Life".

I've always thought this at some point in her lyrics, I forgot which era though.
They're good and all yes, but they are beginning to sound all the same. Although, if whatever it is that's on her mind, and it's bothering her, I'm glad she's not afraid to write them down and sing them. Ayu's always been great on that, and that's what I've always liked about her. She's not afraid to show who she really is and how she really thinks.

Right away when I read these lyrics, I thought, "she's referring to her left ear, right?", but then the ending lyrics totally changed and I didn't know what she was referring to anymore.

I just heard the song on repeat for the past 20 minutes and I am in love. I don't know it just feels so relaxing and fresh. I love these type of ballads. Life had potential to be an Aside, but since it is her 10th Anniversary and all, I can see how Ayu might just want to have a nice simple title like "Mirrorcle World", and not "Mirrorcle World/ Life". I don't know. Whatever I think I am just thinking too much here, regardless! I really love this song and I am really hoping to see a PV for it on the next album or as a bonus on an upcoming single.

fated was originally for the Kaidan movie [since there are lovers that end up parting ways in it or something] but it just so happened to release a month after her breakup.. D;

There's no rule that says you can only write 1 song about a given event. Most writers talk about the same things over and over again, just from different perspectives or in different words. Ayu herself has said in the past, when talking about the trilogy, that she is one such person.

A person who reads only one translation of a foreign text has a tenth as much understanding of it as the person who reads ten translations. This is especially true with Japanese-English translations. There is no authoritative translation.

How so? I thought the composition was quite fresh and "new" for Ayu..

Certainly, there were some old sounds from other J-pop songs, but other than that... it seemed pretty original. :o

Forgot to say that Life kinda invokes the same feelings that the sleeperspaceborn mix of "from your letter" gives me. :D

i think this song is very fresh.

to anyone who is getting tired of the same lyrics from Ayu, I felt like that when BLUE BIRD came out. I was like "oh, here's another summer single with the same darn lyrics!" >.<

but i think this song... she has done nothing like it b4... i mean, the beginning of the music sounded like another song to me for a second but i really like the song (even tho it sounds like something from YUI or someone like that lol am i right?)

i think she's starting a bit of a new lyrics era... it started w/ GUILTY with songs like "untitled for her". this song kinda makes me thind of that one...

I've seen so many different translations of this song I can't decide which one is the right one. :D I have translated this into finnish for this finnish Ayu forums, twice. :'3 But anyways, I love this song, because it reminds me of the good ol' Wishing from A Song for XX album. And Life is better than Mirrorcle World (which still freaks me out every time I hear it). :3

wow. i love the lyrics. they are so deep and mysteryous and i don't think she is talking about her left ear i think it's more about losing things in her life that she had and the ppl that she loved, or just the whole aspect of her life and the way she saw it.
i think that the 2persons she is talikng about are Tomoya and the person that died (the one she wrote "untiteled-for her")

That's a very good point. 07 was one of so much change all at once for her, I can definitely see how not only it would be horrible or at least painful, but almost humbling for Ayu, too. To be honest going through even *one* of those changes is a pretty big deal, but to have them all happen one after another is quite awful. I'm just glad she's able to take this kind of stance on it and show it in her music.

i always start off my music playlist with this song!!

i honestly think that this is one of ayu's most refreshing song in a very, very, very, very long time. it's brings back that old pop-ish sound of ayu that i first fell in love with, and this song wouldn't be out of place in an album like say, "my story". some may think that it is boring, but it definitely sounds different from what we've been getting lately.

and after carefully studying the lyrics, i've begun to appreciate this song even more.

I dunno if repetitive is the word...i mean, most artists have themes they focus on in the lyrics they write. So i don't think they're repetitive as much as just maybe expected form Ayu. Her styles is definitely evident in every line of the song, but it's not boring to me yet. I like these lyrics. I mean, half the artists out now have at least a dozen songs with "i love you" as the theme and refrain for the song. She's still doin her thing.

Exactly! I think she should write about some new things.. She could still keep her STYLE. Good writers have a style. Sentence structures, word use, etc. that is trademark for them. That doesn't mean she has to write her songs so much about the same theme. Srsly. @____x
