Wow, this is the second time in a month I've seen news of an American (or native English speaker) doing a re-make of an Ayu song...(lol See Ayu - people outside of Asia do love your music!)

I must admit - I do love his arrangement of "Depend on You". And I like the English version, too!! =)

And his Japanese probably sounds weird because he's probably not a native speaker of it, hence he doesn't have the accent of it and all...I think he sounds decent, actually. ^^

edit: He's British, not American. Haha. And his STEP you remix is interesting...there's not too much of him in it, though. :-/

If you watch his "Lost in Translation Part 1" video, he mentions that "Depend on you was originally Japanese and was rewritten into English" or something like that. I thought the same thing as you at first. "That's not cool! :no" He could have at least mentioned that he covered it though. :irked

I hate remixes, I hate covers. don;t even want to listen to someone butcher an ayu song. she does it best. it is her and her voice and her words that I love. anyone else singing her words is just wrong.

Ok.. for the japanese Version.. his japanese sounds a little bit strange.. but.. I think, it is because, he isn't a nativ speaker.
But it is nice to see, and european singer covers Ayu's songs! Thanks greate. (^.^) Ok.. there was a spanish "Fairyland" befor and something other. But.. his is the best cover, I think.

Well, I don't think there's any need for him to credit her for Depend on me (on the website I mean). Ayu has used others' compositions before and made it her own song, and that's all he's doing. It just seems like he goes out of his way to avoid mentioning that Depend on you is her song in the 'lost in translation' video.

I don't care for the English lyrics and his Japanese sounds weird, but it has a very interesting arrangement.

I really love his cover...ESPECIALLY the chorus.....I wish ayu's mirrorcle world version of depend on you had that arrangement for the chorus. Then it would've been perfect.^_^

Wow, he did a great job with Depend on You...the english version anyway. I didn't listen to the japanese one. He's actually pretty good...with the exception of DoaA cover---he bombed that one compared to Lee Brotherton.
