Tiana Xiao was born in Sichuan, China and moved to the United States when she was two years old. Her mother and brother currently reside in Los Angeles, California, and her father lives in China.

With an asserted IQ of 170, Tiana graduated from high school at the age of fourteen. After her graduation, although she had already been accepted to Cornell University, Tiana had decided to pursue her childhood dream of becoming an artist, and deferred her admission so that she could focus on singing and performing.

In order to improve her vocals and other performance skills, including stage presence and dance, Tiana studied singing with several private vocal coaches and attended classes at the Millennium Dance Complex in North Hollywood.

In January 2006, Tiana began attending HIPAC, a vocal school located in Los Angeles. Her voice teacher saw tremendous potential in the then 15 year old Tiana, and trained her for about three months before sending a demo CD to a management/production company in Japan.

A few months later, (Summer 2006) Tiana was brought by her vocal coach to Tokyo for an audition. Her unique voice earned her a recording contract with her current label, Imperial Records, a division of Teichiku Entertainment, Inc.

Currently, Tiana is a sophomore at Cornell University. However, in order to fully concentrate on her career, she has taken an academic leave of absence.

Ahhh so she is good? I wanted to d/l her music but I'm not so sure.

^ She's REALLY good. idk, I just loved her at first listen. Someone even compared her to Utada and said that she might become the next Utada Hikaru. But neh, they said in the article that her debut sales weren't too good. But her debut single is awesome! :luv2

^ What genre is she exactly? I wanted to know what type of music she had before I d/led her stuff because I'm running out of room in my Mp3 player lol.

Yeah that's what I just downloaded. And I know what you mean, that was the first thing that came to mind when I saw her debut single cover. Well I'll tell you what I think of her when I finish listening to the debut single.

I couldn't stand KIZUNA at first, thought it really lame. But it's really catchy for some reason. But wth is up with her dancing in the PV? Talk about uninspired. :P

^ The dancing's alright. The videos are really low-budget, and in KIZUNA the dance routine is sloppy looking and Tiana looks bored. But I think that's meant to be a cool look. :P

The videos are alright. KIZUNA was better than Sweet Obsession. Sweet Obsession was boring =/
I don't really like videos like that where they just show their faces in different styles. They could have done better.

So, what do you guys think about the new album? It just leaked yesterday. I still have to listen to it though.

The album is actually really good. I liked the previews I heard before it was leaked and I was not disappointed when I listened to the full album. Every song is pretty good and luckily I've gotten use to her Japanese. I think overall it's a strong debut album. aquarium, desTiny, echo, Undo hurt, and Milestone are my favorites. In some ways her music reminds me of an earlier BoA.

The entire album was amazing. I love her vocals a lot. That's what caught my attention the most. Although the thing about her being a lot like Utada is...Idk, I don't think that's true.

Yeah, her being the next "Utada Hikaru" - where did that come from cause I don't hear it at all...

But then people started to doubt that because her sales weren't all that great after a while. But oh well, so long as I like her, that's all that matters :)

I read your review and I liked what you had to say about the album. I myself, have not gotten to hear the album in its entirety (I'm about to listen to it right now), but I'm just a tad bit confused about one thing. This isn't that important, but the order you reviewed the tracks in is not the same order the tracklist is in...is there a reason for that? I was j/w...

Really? It was totally by mistake hahaha, which ones are out of order?

EDIT: Are you sure? The places that I'm looking list my order as the right one unless there's something I'm not seeing...

^ I think whatever you played the album on put the tracklist in the wrong order. All of the tracks are not in the right order except for except for '3..2..1', 'Undo Hurt', and 'Milestone'. I don't think it's worth going through all that work to fix though...I mean it's not that big of a deal. I was just wondering if there was a specific reason for it.

I mean, it's nice that she can speak fluent english and all, but I kind of don't like it when J-pop singers 'litter' (as I say) their music with too much english. Idk, it's just kind of strange to me.

So sorry for a double post but I just finished listening to the whole album. I think it's a solid debut album...now if only she had some PROMOTION lol.

aquarium (Something just seems to be missing but it's not a bad song.)

So yeah, I don't think there were any songs I didn't really like.

I liked Undo Hurt a lot but I agree that the lyrics were really bad. A bit too cheesy.

BTW, the album didn't even chart on Oricon-_-
