German music?

Yes, another one of these threads lol

I'm stumped as to what to try out. So far I really like:

Zweitfrau - Intensive: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=KaFokh1YvkU
Juli - Wir Beide: http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=RE8DDGLEKXo

and whatever else I've heard by both. Can someone recommend me anything more? I'm not really concerned about what genre it is, I'll try just about anything.

thinkingoutloud89 28th May 2008 04:30 AM

Juli, Silbermond, Revolverheld, fettes Brot!

evolusean 28th May 2008 04:31 AM

Juli is fantastic. I recommend "Warum", "Sterne", and "Perfekte Welle" by them. Silbermond has a similar sound. I recommend "Durch die Nacht" and "Symphonie". If you want something with a little more of an R&B feel, Xavier Naidoo is really great--I love his voice. My fave song by him is "Dieser Weg".

That was fast :laugh Thanks guys, I'll listen to all of your recommendations.

Corybobory 28th May 2008 04:55 AM

I love Silbermond! Their latest album was really great (I bought it when I was in Germany!)- try Das Beste, Meer Sein, Unendlich

I also really like Christina Sturmer, who has a similar sound to Silbermond and Juli. Wir Sind Helden has some good stuff too. Oh and Rosenstolz...

I love Juli, Silbermond, and Revolverheld. Another one i haven't seen mentioned yet is Kettcar. they're not as famous, but i like them. try their song 48 Stunden...love it :D

don't know if you'd be interested, but Rammstein are pretty awesome! (a german industrial/metal band) Similar bands worth listening to are OOMPH!, Eisbrecher & Megaherz

YESSS Christina Stürmer is awesome!! I love her song "Ich Lebe"!!

Is there a reason why Juli's Es ist Juli album is so expensive? O_O

Thanks for the other recommendations. I really like Christina Stürmer and Silbermond so far :)

I'm looking for some German Pop artists. Can anyone recommend me a few?

cosmeticmusic 19th July 2008 06:04 AM

German Pop? SARAH CONNOR. But I don't know if she sings in German...

Northerner 19th July 2008 06:18 AM

My favorite is 2raumwohnung. I have also enjoyed Einsturzende Neubauten's newer albums, though I really would label them an "acquired taste."

thinkingoutloud89 19th July 2008 12:01 PM

all bad kiddy msuic here
try out

MIA. or Clusou

Justex 19th July 2008 01:31 PM

Wow, you guys know Christina Stürmer? That is really cool. And yeah she's Austrian. She attended a casting show on Austrian TV and became 2nd. :)

For more pop oriented music you can try out the "No Angels". They are a girl grop who sing in English and were heavily successful a few years ago.

Hmm, nobody has mentioned Nena so far. You all know her "99 Luftballons" song, but she has actually done many other great songs. Listen to "Liebe ist" which was a No. 1 hit in 2005 (so she is not a one-hit-wonder here :D).

*cough* *cough* Tokio Hotel *cough* :roflmao

Kashoku 19th July 2008 04:04 PM

if you want german pop, Cinema Bizarre is it. But they sing in English.
