Sales really aren't going well, huh? I didn't expect them to be this low, considering Ai's success a few years ago. It's reinvention time for her.

^ I still have hope for Ai though, I feel her next single will do soo much better for some reason...

I think the sales is alright. She is not a big icon atm. Well I mean she is but people only buy singles that tie in with successful drama and stuff.

Even though you can barely see Ai's face, those pics look really cute.

Ouch for Rocket Snaker / One Time sales but then again, it's not like it deserves amazing sales...I really think she should take that break to get the creative juices flowing. People seem to be releasing so much this year and while it's good to have new songs, I would prefer them to release less often with better quality.

Like Utada Hikaru, right? :) (I can't wait to see what she comes up with next!)

Anyhow, I hope Avex doesn't pull a BoA and devote less time and effort to Ai. She's got potential, she just needs to use it the right way.

The single sucked.

Realllly bad.

Both songs sounded really dated and terrible, bland, and boring.
To make it worse, the songs sounded really similar.

Although Sora to Kujira was great. That should have been an a-side, seriouslyyy.

it should have been Rocket Sneakers/Sora to Kujira and one x time should have been the b-side.

Yeah. Ai is losing her touch.

The last good song she made, in my opinion, other than Sora to Kujira, was Kumuri Uta and other songs from LOVE PiECE.

^ I think Rocket Sneaker is pretty good. The arrangement is really engaging and she actually tried something new other than another PEACH/SMILY/Frienger/CHU-LIP type thing. I'm so over those songs. :rolleyes I hope she continues in this direction, and then I won't have to get frustrated and call her annoying every time she releases a song where she tries to be really happy and squeaks all over the place. Seriously.

I miss the less squeaky days of LOVE PUNCH and LOVE JAM. :'(

Anyways, with that said, One x Time was like HEART 2 or something and I thought sora to kujira was boring. And I don't think it would have passed as an A-side whether I liked it or not, because it's a really simple song.

^ LOL OMGOSH I sooo agree with One x Time being HEART 2 XD I still like the PEACH/SMILY/FRIENGER/CHU-LIP type song XD ~! But I have to agree with you, what happened to the Love Punch Days =( ~! Shouldn't forget about her good past stuff xD ~!

Ehh I think ur definitely overexaggerating when you say that the single sucked Zachery. I think it was ok ~ Rocket Sneakers was pretty good to me and Sora to kujira was above average. One x Time was definitely undeserving of being the A-side XD ~!

Yeah but she had her tour and that takes a lot of work. Maybe she needs like a step out of the public eye for a while kind of thing - no tours, no new singles, just a chance to keep living life without everything. Maybe she'll get inspired and get that touch again.

Anyways, I noticed that I simply love Ai's ballads more than her upbeat songs. Her ballads are gorgeous, especially Daisuki Da Yo and Kingyo Hanabi. Beautiful songs <3

Personally I enjoyed Pocket so maybe you should give that a listen. And Momo no Hanabira isn't really a ballad but it's kind of a spring midtempo song that really is wonderful! You should hear it!!!

I love the sound of Kingyo Hanabi - portrays the emotions well
Daisuki da yo just sounds so personal and genuine that you can't not love it.

Haha, Daisuki da yo was my first Ai song believe it or not, a looong time ago. I had no idea it was her that sung that song. I found it while browsing anime music sites on myspace and they just randomly had her in their playlist. I was like, what a beautiful song! :laugh

Other Songs: Cherish, Planetarium, Shabondama [I think it's soooo pretty], Strawberry Jam, Sensu, Friends, Mousou Chop [it's interesting lol] and Haneari Tamago [I think it's pretty too]

Basically her older works are the things to look at.
And yeah, that is a random song :)

I think ren'ai shashin >>>> Planetarium. Planetarium sounds so... flat and weak. And it never reaches a climax. I never did understand what the hype about that song was. :thud

Hmmn... ballads from ai-chan..

Amaenbo, Kingyo Hanabi (you have it), Daisukidayo (you have it), Planetarium, Renai Shashin (I have to agree that it's better than Planetarium... and to me it's a episode II of Daisukidayo somehow :P), HEART, kumuriuta (well a rock ballad, still good nonetheless). Neko ni fuusen is good as well... but it's not a ballad..

Fast songs: HAPPY DAYS, SMILY, 680 Yen (my fav), Frienger, CHU-LIP :D

I said it before & I say it again , Planetarium was the 1 which sealed the deal for me because before that I had a bad impression of ai cos she sounded squeaky to me but after I heard Planetarium , my perception of her changed gradually

I didn't like his opinion of Sora to Kujira, I think its best song on the single. :( After listening to Rocket Sneaker a few times its really growing on me lately as well... but I still find OnexTime pretty forgettable.

Iono, why but some of her album tracks are great...Shabondama, Always Together, Cherish, LOVE MUSIC, Kataomoi Dial, Mirai Taxi, of course Planetarium, and OMG, Rocket Sneaker!

I'm glad there is some appreciation for Shabondama. The song is sooo pretty, I LOVE IT!!!!

I must say that all of Ai's ballads are gorgeous, every single one I have heard I don't dislike, Her voice fits perfectly in ballads.
