Bought the single earlier today! It was 4 euro for the two songs tho, that's like 2 euro per song. :eviltongu I wouldn't have got it if the single was on iTunes Ireland but isn't atm - wtf? I thought I'd support the girls anyway so yay~

The Satz had their first performance of "Up" at the UK Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards today.
I think a lot of it is mimed, but it is still an A+ perf. also, Rochelle gets hotter every geedee time I see her, omg. |

but~ starting Monday, their official MySpace will be uploading 30 second clips of each album track, and the full thing will be available to stream on Channel 4 starting the 13th. they also performed a bit of "If This Is Love," "Up" and were interviewed yesterday on BBC Sound. Una revealed that Vanessa is most likely to get knocked up by Eddie Murphy lolz! and, one last thing, the group has taught the dance to "If This Is Love" on Britannia High, and will make a few more appearances within the coming weeks. |

Wheeeeeeee! I bought the single off of iTunes! The quality is really nice! But I'm a bit worried because without thinking about it I downloaded the single track by track! So does that mean the download doesn't count towards the chart?! :(

it still counts! but downloading like that just makes it so "Crashing Down" could potentially chart individually instead of bundled with "Up."

I thought it was going to flop, but "Up" is doing AMAZING so far: it's currently at no. 16 on iTunes main and no. 8 on pop, no. 7 on Amazon singles chart and no. 3 on HMV pre-order chart.
I just hope they can keep it up for the rest of the week. <3 |
Yeah, I hope you haven't spoken too soon. I would love for this single to do really well. It seriously deserves to. I'm more concerned about album sales though, but with the single doing well, there's a much better chance of the album selling well.

they're up to no. 2 on iTunes, and no. 4 in the midweeks. they're only 50 copies behind no. 3, though - and that's counting the sales before they go to no. 2 on iTunes.
also, they performed acoustic versions of "Chasing Lights" and "Issues" on MTV Sessions today. very nice! |
The success of Up so far makes me honestly so happy. They really deserve it.
And wow, those performances were flawless. I have to admit, they can all sing (although Frankie isn't that great), and are easily better singers than Girls Aloud as a whole. |

As much as I love their ballads, I do hope that's the last one on their album, because the debut album of a pop group shouldn't be too ballad-heavy.

I think "Vulnerable," tomorrow's song, is also a ballad. if it is (and I'm just guessing based on the title), then that's four ballads, which isn't too bad imo.

After listening to all the previews, it's clear that this is going to be a solid debut. This is going to be a great album and I'm really hoping the sales reflect that.

"Chasing Lights" could easily rise by the end of the week as the girls have a CD singing on the 30th, and will also perform on Live Lounge that morning. also, the group minus Frankie cooked and performed "Up" on This Morning yesterday. they have a new mic stand routine and the vocals are actually live. |

11's not bad, but it's a bit disappointing after they spent all week at no. 9 in the mids. and since "Up" has just had its third week in the top ten, I don't think we have to worry about them getting dropped right now.
if the next single flops, though, I think they're done. =/ edit~ the album sold 22,294 which is not bad at all for no. 11! they sold about 1k less than Sugababes' album last week, and it was no. 8. also, "Up" sold another 22,491 copies this week, bringing its total to 71,623. |

My friend and I just listened to the entire album, and I am so surprised, I like almost every single track, which is rare for me. My favorite song though is Chasing Lights. <3

"Up" was no. 13 last week and sold 19,025 copies, and "Chasing Lights" was no. 21 and sold 13,036 copies. their totals are now 90,648 and 35,429, respectively.
also, on Monday the girls had a shoot for FHM magazine and rerecorded a bit of their next single, "Issues." they also shot the video on Thursday: Quote:

^ yep. the single itself is supposed to be released in mid-January, so they should be able to get an easy top ten placement, and the video will probably be out sometime in December.

It's too bad the album isn't selling that well. I really want them to have a hit that really boosts them to A-list status. I thought Up might do that but I guess it wasn't huge enough to impact the album sales in a major way.

I downloaded the album last weekend and it's pretty good for a new group. I really like Up and Work, but I can hardly listen to Issues :/ which sucks since it's the next single haha
