Ayu's song titles in japanese
I just was curious about that 9.9?
something like: + (more than) = Ijou / purasu 1 LOVE = 1 AI / 1 KOI A Song is born = Kyoku ga umareru / Uta ga umareru And then = Soshitara ANGEL'S SONG = TENSHI NO UTA AUDIENCE = OkYAKUSAN Beautiful Day = Utsukushii Hi BLUE BIRD = AOI TORI Close to you = Kimi no soba ni Dolls = Ningyou Endless sorrow = Owaranai fukou End of the World = Sekai no Owari / Chikyuu no Owari everlasting dream = hateshinai yume / taemanai yume evolution = shinka / hatten) forgiveness = yurushi / yousha Free & Easy = Rairai Rakuraku FRIEND = TOMODACHI GAME = GEEMU GUILTY = YAMASHII Hana = Hana (...) HANABI = HANABI (lol) HAPPY ENDING = kOUFUKU NA KETSUMATSU Heartplace = Shinjyo HEAVEN = TEN / TENGOKU HOE or PAIN = KITAI soretomo ITAMI I am... = Watashi wa.... / Atashi wa... (in formal form) INSPIRE = INSUPIPREESHON O ATAERU independent = jishuteki JEWEL = HOSEKI July 1st = Shichigatsu Tsuitachi Liar = Usotsuki LOVE ~Destiny~ = Ai ~Unmei~ MY ALL = WATASHI NO SUBETE my name's WOMEN = boku no namae wa ONNA-TACHI Marionette = Marionetto Not yet = Mada mada ourselves = watashi-tachi jishin Present = Okurimono RAINBOW = NIJI rainy day = ame no hi Real me = Honshoku SEASONS = KISETSU Secret = Himitsu too late = ososugiru Trust = Shinrai UNITE! = HITOTSU NI SHIMASU until that Day = sono hi Made... Voyage = Tabi WE WISH = BOKU-TACHI GA NEGAU YOU = KIMI / ANATA (is she felt formal) plz help me with some more n__n |
I believe threads like this where created before.
YOU = kimi (or "anata" is she felt formal) HANABI = HANABI (:P) I am... = watashi wa.... (?, or "atashi wa..." in formal form) Dolls = Ningyou GAME = GEEMU 1 LOVE = 1 AI (or "1 KOI") Secret = Himitsu |
Here's my two cents:
Secret= himitsu Rainbow = niji Friend = tomodachi Heaven = tengoku Liar = usotsuki (?) |
^There's no plural in Japanese.
So it's just ningyou :P LOVE ~Destiny~ - Ai ~Unmei~ Endless sorrow - Owaranai fukou RAINBOW - Niji MY ALL - watashi no subete GUILTY - Yamashii Marionette - Marionetto BLUE BIRD - aoi tori HEAVEN - ten Liar - usotsuki rainy day - ame no hi forgiveness - kaiyou (not sure) |
Thanks for these!!

許し・赦し〜ゆるし〜Yurushi 容赦〜ようしゃ〜Yousha Both have meaning of forgiveness or mercy sort of thing.. Kaiyou, first meaning of it I thought was... "oceans? >_>" 海洋〜かいよう〜Oceans. although there is kanji that can be said Kaiyou to mean mercy or forgiveness, I would suggest to not confuse it. Ahaha. Real Me: I think 本色 is best. Honshoku. It means The Real Me, Real Colour. Etc. everlasting dream: (I'm so sorry to correct you -o- ~Matt~)果てしない夢(hateshinai yume)、or 絶え間ない夢(Taemanai Yume)、both which mean endless or everlasting dream. Free & Easy: 磊々落々(rairai rakuraku)。LOL actually I had to look up if it truly meant free & easy, or did I imagine it, but it does. Independent: 自主的(Jishuteki) or Independent in katakana. End of the World: 世界の終わり(Sekai no owari)・地球の終わり(chikyuu no owari)。 And then: そしたら (Soshitara) Too Late: 遅すぎる (Ososugiru) Audience: お客さん〜(Okyakusan) A Song is Born: 曲が生まれる(Kyoku ga umareru)。歌が生まれる(Uta ga umareru)。 Close to you: 君のそばに、君の近くに。 and there's much more~ I think they are sounding better in english! LOL Okyakusan or Ososugiru or Rairai Rakuraku sound so lame! |
not sure if these are right but i got them from an english to japanese dictionary
evolution - shinka (or hatten) UNITE! - HITOTSU NI SHIMASU ourselves - watashi-tachi jishin INSPIRE - INSUPIPREESHON O ATAERU |

LIMIT - 制限 (Seigen) HOPE or PAIN - 期待それとも痛み (Kitai Soretomo Itami) + (more than) - 以上 (Ijou) Present - 贈り物 (Okurimono) Trust - 信頼 (Shinrai) Those are the simple ones. I did them using a dictionary which means that they might not be true at all. x_x |
Would "Beautiful Day" be "utsukushii no hi?"
That's about all I can pull out of the air. :laugh |

Correct me if I'm wrong. I think I am on the grammar haha. |
I think there's a site that has like all of her titles in Japanese.
http://www.ii-park.net/~surf_romance...u/meaning.html All of them until MY STORY / CAROLS. |
Mm, I'll try... (with post-MY STORY songs)
Ahn... glitter = kirameki Mirror = kagami untitled ~for her~ = namae ga nai ~ano ko he~ Ladies Night = oujou no yoru (I think this is so totally wrong lol XD) Pride = hokori fairyland = yosei no kuni rainy day - ame no hi It was = sou datta Not yet = mada (or maybe "mada mada"? something like that? XD) Startin' = hajimaru... or maybe, hajimeteiru or something like that .____. I don't know how to conjugate verbs ;_; Born to be... = sono tame ni umareta? XD Beautiful Fighters = BISHOUJO SENSHI [SAILOR MOON] lol fated = unmei de tsunagatteiru or something like that maybe lol XD ...I'm not really sure about ay of those haha. EDIT: Quote:

since すばらしい(Subarashii) and うつくしい(Utsukushii) are adjective, Na and No are not needed... they could be added right before the noun. In either way, it could make sense... but subarashii does mean "Wonderful" And in basically, Utsukushii means beautiful. Anything beautiful.. 雨は美しいでしょう〜(Ame ha utsukushii deshou~)~ The rain is beautiful, right?~ Even abstract thoughts... you could see in Hanabi Episode 2, where she is saying.. 思い出はそう美しいままそっとかぎかけしまっておこう。 Omoide wa sou utsukushii mama sotto kagi kake shimatte okou. I will lock those thoughts away quietly in their beautiful ways. -_- I become such a lecture... maybe I should be a teacher LOL But any which one you wanna to use is fine! Quote:
Since she were talking about that happy ending you find in a book, or story, 幸福な結末 (koufuku na ketsumatsu~) is more appropriate I believe. You got it right about Not Yet, you should say it mada mada. Startin', also in the right track... it will be maybe... I don't know really what Startin' means... If it means, "I am starting," then you could say... hajimaridasu. unless she is starting something, which then would be hajimedasu. So confusing!!! ahhh. LOL Fated~ this one is tricky, right? You could say... unmei no koto. Or you could become more abstract about that... And say Akai ito, which means the red string, or more abstract, Connected by Fate. I am sorry that I can't make such coherent suggestions... T T |
ahh what did I miss?
well I will re-edit my post again 9.9U |

I don't know... >_> it doesnt seem to fit that song. LOL theme of a-nation’03 エーネーション03のテーマ - Eineishon 03 no te-ma MY STORY 自伝 - Jiden - It means, Autobiography. |
^Ooh, so LOVEppears really is supposed to mean "it seems to be love" and not "the love shows up". I kinda thought it was the latter when I first saw the title XD
And, if "Ayu's constructed words" is supposed to mean that Ayu herself said the song's title in japanese was supposed to be that way, I think it makes sense... Since ever free is obviously about death. At least it always seemed that way to me o.o; |
I was confused about LOVEppears title, too, until the opening lines to "appears" hit me - two lovers, seemingly happy, walk hand in hand [...] but only they know the truth.
|
Wow maikaru thx for that one! ^^

And it means in english "coined." So there's no actual words or phrase like that in japanese so it's hard to make a connection from the english one to japanese one. I dont know that song at all... I hated vogue, so I didnt listen to that single.. Ever free is that one on the single, right? So maybe it is about forever sleep or so... I dont know... Just the title doesn't give such impression. LOL sorry!! and yeah, apparently LOVEPPEARS means that.. that it is the thing that appears in love, but it could or could not be... Like that song, appears!~ which was stated already~ |
I always thought 'canary' was カナリー in katakana. I must be wrong bcz Ayu has it as kanariya(カナリヤ)
Ka-na-ri-ya doesn't sound right when compared to カナリー to me. :/ LOL. |
This is really interesting!

In the lyrics Ayu sings Quote:

Kisetsu = SEASON(S)...
And the birds are called canaries [singular: canary]~ D: |
such an interesting thread, thanks
|
acccording to the Japanese wikipedia in Japanese they call the canaries "kanaria" (カナリア) AND also "kanariya" (カナリヤ)
http://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/カナリア |
SURREAL=超現実 (Chogenjitsu)ちょうげんじつ
Also~ Yes, カナリヤ has two spellings. Both カナリヤ and カナリア are correct (since people mostly say them the same...) |
This is really interesting. I wish I can contribute though. :(
