Recommend me some nice TRANCE songs

Any trance fans here? :wave

I'm no hardcore trance fan, but I like the trance songs that really have this emotional, mysterious and even calm feeling but also has parts of hyper mood. I know little though (I can't even make the difference between the several electronic music genres that well)... I've managed to look for a few trance artists/DJs/songs but the majority of the songs were rather flat uninteresting trance imo. I don't want recommendations for ayu trance songs though. I already know which they are and if it serves for reference I love many of them like some of the trance mixes for Connected (the original mix), UNITE! (ALT+F4 mix), M (aAbove & Beyond) and Naturally (Wippenberg mixes), but since I already know them, I see no point in recommending them again. So I'm asking if people have any nice trance tracks/remix recommendations from anywhere in the world/any artist/DJ (no download links though, unless the song is fanmade or not commercially available in the US)

I personally love these tunes. Maybe hardcore trance fans might dislike them or think they're too generic or cheesy, but well, they're exactly the type of trance songs that interests me:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=aI7yuQyLpIQ [Don't mind the random anime, I just want to show the song, which is Ian Van Dahl's "Without You"]

ayu-mix91 19th July 2008 01:41 AM

Damn, if you were into Hardcore/Happy Hardcore tunes I could recommend you heaps. The only trance thing I can recommend is Armin Van Buuren, he's a legend! Give him a shot.

EDIT: One of his songs; Rush Hour, you can listen to it on Youtube. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=39jbDTATJFQ'

It starts of slow and gets better. =D

Lol when i meant I'm not a hardcore trance fan, I meant more as in I'm not a harcore fan of trance. I was not excluding the hardcore trance genre, if there's one. If the songs are a little like the ones I pointed out (those specific ayu remixes, and the links I showed) then I'm most likely to love them.

I really liked RUSH HOUR. :) I had downloaded one of his State of Trance CDs last year (not sure which and from which year though) and there were some songs on it I really liked a lot, but there were also many uninteresting tracks. I'll try to look for his most famous tracks displayed on last.fm though. Thanks for the recommendation.

Your welcome! You could also try my favourite Happy Hardcore DJ - Scott Brown, he's from Scotland, but let me tell you he sure knows how to make records.

Try this song - Elysium Plus, one of his best ever records. http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=E4JRRCJttqg

EDIT: Also, try this song by Hardcore Duo; Dougal & Gammer... http://jp.youtube.com/watch?v=SotPa-1lFPU

The original of that song is better and it's actually Happy Hardcore. I know because I listen to it! It was a classic during the 90s in UK Clubs apparently.

OMG! I seriously love trance music so much! My very favorite song is trance! :D Check this song out (this is the one I was talking about). It's sooo awesome! I can listen to this song for hours and hours.

Agnelli & Nelson featuring Aureus - Holding On To Nothing

ImpactBreaker 27th July 2008 08:06 PM

sorry for the late reply guys >.< extepan's list is so huge that I'm still at 1/4 of it. Those are pretty good songs so far! i specially loved "above and beyond - Can't Sleep" (I had it here but I don't know why I didn't pay attention LOL) and "wolfsheim - Wundervoll (Blank And Jones Remix)" is awesome! I'll be looking for/downloading the remaining 3/4 of the list over the days.

ayu-mix91 recommendations would fit perfectly for a time attack spinning session! They're quite fast and full of energy! makes me wanna jump non-stop :D

Oh, you're welcome! If you like the song, I've got it uploaded here! :)

Cavi 28th July 2008 10:15 AM

Some nice recommended tracks above. For more of the uplifting trance sound, check out the Anjunabeats record label. Other Above & Beyond and OceanLab tracks, such as "Alone Tonight" and "Satellite" respectively, might be to your liking.

IYFreak 29th July 2008 12:55 AM

I'm looking for the same thing ImpactBreaker is looking for. Can anyone recommend any trance that sounds alittle similar to Connected.

CHE.R.RY 29th July 2008 04:12 AM

I don't know if you completely would consider this trance or dance, but it's kind of a mix of both. But I suggest Miracle by Cascada, and she has some other interesting music too. I recommend her if you haven't listened to her already.

I also recommend Take me away by 4 Strings.

EDIT: Oh another good one from 4 Strings, Fly Away.

AyumiSEASONS 1st August 2008 07:25 AM

Listen to Anything by Cosmic Gate. They are amazing.

rusuke 1st August 2008 08:18 AM

Above and Beyond mixes are really good!!!!!

AyuRox 25th May 2009 05:58 AM

I like trance, sorta... ok, not really. I like some of the derivitives of trance, but not trance...

But when it comes to dance music in general, to find more of something you like, look up the remixer's original works. So if you haven't already, you should look up Ferry Corsten/System F, Airwave, Moogwai, Above & Beyond, and Wippenberg. This applies to any remixer. And it can apply the other way around. Meaning if you like an artist's original works, you'll probably like their remixes.

You can look up all of the Ayu Trance remixers too. They're all really well-known trance artists.

I also totally suggest you check out the radio station WoeD at http://woed.de/ (its only availible outside of Germany by internet stream) That radio station is where i get a lot of my dance music from.

Personally, I'm a fan of Hands-Up and I dabble in Jumpstyle and Electro. Maybe you should check out artists like TUNE UP!, ROB MAYTH, Pulsedriver (which has some hands up), Alex M. vs. Marc Van Damme, Megara vs. DJ Lee, VERANO, Mainfeild, Discotronic, Dan Winter, Manian, Topmodelz (they have a lot of covers of 80's music, if you're into that kind of thing) Punkrockerz, Ultra Flirt, SIRIA, Nordic Stars, AKIRA, and, yes, the infamous CASCADA. (which, btw, Manian, SIRIA, TUNE UP!, and AKIRA are from the same djs as CASCADA.) Those are some of the Hands Up artists, but there's a ton more. As you find more remixers, you'll find which artists you like most.

Electro: Mondo, Alex M. (the electro alias of hands up artist Alex Megane), 2-4 Grooves (my favorite), Michael Mind, Dany Wild, and Phunk Foundation.

Jumpstyle (I don't know many): Rico NL, DJ Lanai, Picco vs. Jens O.
That's all I can come up with, right now. But a lot of times, singles will have a "jumpstyle mix" with no credited remixer. And the same with electro.

Pretty much every artist I just listed is availible on iTunes, so if you have it, you can look them up.

If you don't mind paying extra and waiting on shipping, you can buy some of the Quake Trance or Exit Trance compilations from YesAsia.com or Amazon.com or eBay.com.

That's pretty much everything I've got... Hope I helped!

TeeMo 25th May 2009 06:40 AM

I think that artist Armin van Buuren is one worth of searching on Internet. I personally don't listen to Trance but his music always show up in the top 40 chart over here.

R_Hikki 20th July 2011 12:05 AM

Not too long ago I bought a trance album titled Northern Lights by UK DJ, Gareth Emery. It's a very well produced album and I love the spacial atmosphere that he created with it.

Here's the first video/single off of the album.
"Sanctuary"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMlVFa_754o

Although I do like the song, I don't think it does the album justice. Oh well.

Nu-NRG 20th July 2011 01:32 AM

this is not trance but house/dance still worth a listen though
enjoy! :D

Edward Maya & Vika Jigulina - Stereo Love

as for trance check these out
Armin van Buuren ft. Nadia Ali - Feels So Good (Tristan Garner Remix)

Markus Schulz feat. Justine Suissa - Perception

John O'Callaghan feat. Sarah Howells - Find Yourself

Dash Berlin - Till The Sky Falls Down

Dash Berlin feat Emma Hewitt - Waiting

Vengeance - Temptation (Denga & Manus Remix)

Cosmic Gate's Urban Train, and yes the Pikas make it better

One of my favorite Trance songs.

Another good one.

lfe. 22nd July 2011 04:57 AM

DJ Shog - Another World Part II. Part I is good also.

Shog also did the best trance remix to Ayu's Depend on You.

Zeke. 22nd July 2011 08:28 AM

^ I love Depend On You trance Svenson Remix. If I recall I like the Shog Remix too.

PoetGirl 22nd July 2011 06:05 PM

Ok I guess Im the only one here listening to psychedelic trance.
artists mentioned in this thread are too mainstream, as in too commercial, as in uplifting they call it. I mean, its good but psy trance is what I call trance music. I can literally die listening to that

Svenson and Gielen made a great Depend on You remix also. The thing I like about that mix is the melody itself greatly resembles Depend on You, but I feel DJ Shog's remix is the better trance mix overall. Both are great though.

Mainstream would be someone mentioning Cascada, whom aren't bad I do like a few of their tracks, but almost every one of their singles have like 10 million plus views on youtube and there is no logical reasoning to that.

I havent really aiming that at you tbh, Armin van Buuren was on my mind when I posted it, and I dont have anythin' against it (dont get me wrong) its just, there are more fierce ones than him or Tiesto for example.

I agree, Tiesto hasn't been as good these days since hes gone mainstream. Haven't herd Kiss from the Past yet, but Kaleidoscope was zzzZZZzzz. Haven't explored much of Armin's work yet, I hope to soon but I'm not as fond of house, I'm more of a hard trance fan.

You have to hear Kiss From The Past! I downloaded it and wasn't in a hurry to listen to it but it's super! My favorite album of 2011 so far, right behind Tritonal's album "Piercing the Quiet" :D It's like melodic tech-trance. Most of the songs start out different than what they ultimately turn out to be. All of a sudden it's "*wham* wow, wasn't expecting THAT!" - the album is very refreshing among today's trance!

Sounds good, I will give it a listen :thumbsup

The uploader mislabeled it as DJ Shog's Hypnotize, he just presented this track in one of his albums. Its actually Slash - Hypnotize (Dave 202 & Phil Green Remix)

E Nomine has some pretty good songs. They're more of a trance techno ... thing, though. Vater Unser is only of my favorites.
deadmau5 is also fantastic, but I'm not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for. 4x4=12 is :heart Not much as far as lyrics go, but I'll usually have it playing when I'm playing WoW or League of Legends or whatever. :P

It's not that trance, but it's more like female-male, electronica, dance, dream pop made of awesomeness. Don't watch the vids though, they are scary. If you can handle it, go to their popjustice thread :)

RECOMMENDED SONGS: ALL OF THEM ♥. Especially "n" onwards.

OMG, we missed our 5:50am flight. Got there at 5:20 and nobody was at the ticket/check-in counter for Frontier Airlines. Walked over to another stand after waiting 5 minutes and my friend asks "What do we do if we need to get on our flight and there is a sign there that says be back in 30 minutes?" and the lady looks at her all snotty "Go home." I was so pissed. They said the counters close 30 minutes prior and I said "we were over there 30 minutes before hand for 5 minutes!" Then they wanted to reschedule us for the next day getting into NYC at 1030pm - I said no thanks. Went home and kept searching online for openings in flights that same day. Finally found one leaving at 4:27pm from another nearby city - called Frontier Airlines the 4th time to book this flight. Had to pay the price difference + $25 change fee (total about $135). Drive to the airport - flight is delayed an hour. An hour before flight is supposed to leave - the flight gets cancelled. We had to schedule a new flight. Had 2 seats on a flight arriving in NYC at around 1:00am - but when the guy called to verify, there was actually only 1 seat left on that plane. So we had to book a flight for the next day leaving at 9:30am and arriving in NYC at 2:50PM. The flight was from another city (the original city our first flight was supposed to take off from) and they booked us in a hotel there but we had to spend $70 on a cab to get there since my Mom had dropped us off. Finally got to our hotel at like 4:15 after landing in NYC the next day and our transportation had been waiting an hour for us. Made it to Electric Zoo around 5:00. So I was really sad because I had missed Sander van Doorn, Sean Tyas/Simon Patterson, only saw 15 minutes of Andy Moor when I got there...

OMG it was disaster. ATB killed it though, and my meet with Ferry was very rushed after his set because other people were all crowded around wanting pics and autographs. It was fun - spent $200 on alcohol (drinks range from $10-13). Wish I could do it all over the right way. Lots of stress...

:thud

lfe. 20th September 2011 01:30 AM

^ Sounded like fun, and a hassle. You weren't the only one though. A friend of mine could not get in till 5pm Friday because his other friend was having an issue with his ticket, he totally missed Angello and AN21 playing Pendulum. But eventually he got in and had a blast just as everyone I know that went did. I will definitely make sure to preorder tickets way in advanced next year :thumbsup

Back to good ol Cosmic Gate, but a legendary Arnej Remix!

And this.

Every time I download anjunabeats, I end up deleting practically the entire album from my iPod. Lol. Nothing every really STICK OUT. It all just blends together.

*shocked* Just kidding. Each to their own. I understand Anjunabeats is considered 'commercial' and to 'House influenced' by many Trance fans at this point. But I have very special memories with many Anjunabeats releases. Maor Levi's "Lital (Daniel Kandi Remix)" was one of the first Trance tracks I ever fell in love with. Sunny Lax's "Reborn" and Nitrous Oxide's "Frozen Dreams" was the musical backdrop of me and my boyfriend's first conversations. Nitrous Oxide's "North Pole" is my favorite Trance song. And so on... I think I'm a 'stan' for Anjunabeats like I am for Ayu.

edit: Oops, sorry for going on and on. D:

Yes, I was going to mention Above & Beyond! I was wondering why anyone would know them because they're a tiny British duo, but then I remembered. Duh.

I don't know if it has been suggested yet, but the Above & Beyond remix of Madonna's "What it feels like for a girl" is incredible! Almost as good as their remix of Ayu's "M".

Above & Beyond tiny? To what? J-Pop fans? ._.

And then I saw this part. Above & Beyond are definitely not a tiny trio. In Europe's EDM scene at least. I wish they where more popular over here in America. Actually, I wish Trance in general was more popular over here... And not this David Guetta **** that masquerades as 'Trance music'. Real Trance like AVB, A&B, and SoundLift. ((Nothing against David but his stuff ain't Trance.)) :innocent

Gareth Emery's new single "Concrete Angel"

Not bad, but doesn't really sound like anything new from Gareth Emery. Sounds similar to Sanctuary.

Ever since Velfarre shut down a few years ago, I’ve lost touch with the trance genre. I‘ve been keeping up with mostly dance, electro, techno, etc. These songs may be outdated, but always stood out for me.

I’ve always loved Ace Da Brain. He doesn’t have that many tracks as far as I know, but the stuff he has out was powerful to me.

This was the first trance song that got me into the genre. The whole album is actually great filled with DJ’s still putting out stuff to this day, despite the album being released years ago(when I was actually in high school)

This is the only version I like of Force of Gravity

And a rare cut. Magic starts at 4:40

Can't get anymore mainstream than Avicii these days, but this song is just too good. It even made the Superbowl ads. Hilarious music video also.

BUMP. We need to keep the trance thread active, guys!!! :laugh

This year, I've been nothing but an Anjuna girl. I buy all of the compilations and am readily looking forward to the next Anjunabeats album along with the next Anjunabeats Worldwide album. Those are just perfection for me! I've been especially interested in Oliver Smith. There isn't a single song he's done that I haven't LOVED! He's been working on new tracks that hopefully we get to hear soon. He's replied to me on Twitter, which was awesome!

Also, some more happy news I feel I must share here: I had an amazing shout out read by Jono on the most recent episode (6) of Above and Beyond's "Group Therapy" weekly trance radio show. I was floored!!!!!! I had tweeted it to them a few days prior to the week's show, as they ask people to do, but didn't actually expect to get chosen, especially in the way I did!!!! It happens at 24:30 (the FIRST shout out!!!), for anyone who listens... :laugh
