details in ayu's pvs

Alright....so I was wachin some of Ayu's videos and notice stuff that not many people notice. For example in her STEP you video she is in fact standing on top of a 1,2,3,4 in several scenes. Some scenes the numbers are really obious(see picture number 1) and in some not so obious(see picture number 2).
picture # 1
http://www.eneabba.net/ayu/video/vid...STEP_you43.jpg

picture # 2
http://www.eneabba.net/ayu/video/vid...STEP_you41.jpg
You can't see it to well in that picture but the 4 Ayus are in fact sitting on top of their numbers.(1,2,3,4)

Another thing that I notice was in Ayu's Bold and Delicious pv and in the Pride pv.I've been told that both videos were shot in New York, something that wouldn't surprise me.In the Bold and Delicious pv there is a scene were it can be seen clearly a billboard sing were it says "Ayumi Hamasaki Bold and Delicious".(See picture number 3)In the pv for the song Pride, you can't see it clearly, however, near the end of the video as Ayu walks away,on the righ corner of the screen you can see another billboard sing this time with the words "Ayumi Hamasaki Pride" however the sing is never focus.(See picture number 4)

Picture #4 Pride

What other small details can you see in Ayu's video that you think not everybody has seen?Try and put pictures of them.

truehappiness 23rd July 2008 12:29 AM

Actually, in many of the PV discussion threads, these sorts of things come up.

I think for the most part, many older Ayu PVs have little touches that people don't notice, but also, recently the PVs have been lacking these small details... which is sad imo.

pommy48 26th July 2008 08:03 AM

oh i never knew about the numbers in step you, i only know B&D and Pride, but most of the time i really don't notice these unless i watch very very VERY closely

yoshino 26th July 2008 02:31 PM

I noticed such stuff too!!
Only after I watched MANY MANY TIMES of Ayu's pvs..
And i love to do that . =D

~Tsubasa~ 26th July 2008 04:02 PM

Wow!!!! I never noticed that Ayu is sitting on the numbers!!!! Thanks for sharing this!!!

freedreamer 26th July 2008 04:57 PM

I didnt reaalize it all! this is a cool thread HHAHA

KarenPang 26th July 2008 05:02 PM

lol me neither

for me I just watch the PVs as it's , I only will sit up & take notice of small little details provided if on the rare occasion that I'm unusually observant or if someone pointed it out to me

usually it's the latter haha

dawnss 26th July 2008 09:14 PM

Thank you for the information, I never noticed that before.

Yoake 26th July 2008 09:39 PM

I noticed for Step you but no for B&D and Pride.

In (dont)leave me alone the color of her ties changes everytime a dancer passes by.Everybody else probably already notice this but I didnt see it until the third or forth time that I saw the pv.I am really bad for little detail like this one.jaja

This thread is old but I didnt feel like starting a new thread for this but I just notice that in Curtain Call pv she is barefoot. O_O lol. Has this been discuss before? What do u guys think it means?

zyoeru 26th May 2009 06:12 PM

^ I noticed she was barefoot, I just think it adds to the simplicity of her PV for Curtain call.
I mean...black dress, gelled back hair, minimal make up, just walking. :P
She's also walking how geisha are meant to walk apparently. ^_^

noidea 26th May 2009 08:11 PM

^ I didnt notice the geisha-walking but after watching it again....looks like in memoirs of a geisha xD

Originally, Ayu was wearing a poofy dress, had a flower in her hair and a whole load of crap before she decided to go barefoot and cut off the poofy.

noidea 26th May 2009 08:26 PM

really o.0 I need to watch the making off, i thought she only decided to go barefoot

Picaflor 7/4 26th May 2009 08:34 PM

I knew about the 1-4 metal things in step you. I found that out the first day. thats not minor detail, thats just consistency with the video. >.> I've seen bad and pride pvs once, so I didn't notice anything in them.

Yeah, she couldn't walk in the fluffy dress. It was kinda styled like the "Solo in the Spotlight" Barbie doll from the 60's, where it's a simple form-fitting dress until the very bottom. She told them to cut off the fluffy part of the dress.

Raleigh 26th May 2009 09:07 PM

^ Woah cut it? I'm quite sure that dress was extremely expensive... I'm re-watching the making and I noticed how they removed the poofy part. I think I preferred the poofy style.

truehappiness 26th May 2009 09:13 PM

Well, she was like "We have to change it."

So they started snipping away at it with pen-knives. But hey, it's Ayu's PV.

Keiichi_JPU 26th May 2009 10:25 PM

Thank god they changed the dress in Curtain Call, for some reason I hate the poofy thing, also in PCDL.

Also, I'm sure this is not a minor detail and everyone has been discussing it (I haven't read the entire first page.. sorry :P) but in (Don't) Leave Me Alone, the color of her neck-tie changes with which dancers join her. sometimes it's just black, sometimes with pink or blue or something.

EDIT: yes it's been discussed on the first page :)

I'll post more details here if I notice them :p

really? geisha walking? I need to watch the pv again because I thought I saw her walking fairly normally with her feet pointing outwards instead of being pigeon toed (like soooo many japanese girls walk like). I have no idea how a geisha walks like, but I imagine it's demure and pigeon toed! If I recall correctly, Ayu walked in a line, elegantly but with NORMAL feet stance. Possibly like any other Western woman, or even like a man.

I'm soooo glad she doesn't do that kawaii japanese girl thing... like walking pigeon toed (toes pointed in, like hella pointed in) and wearing (short) heels but walking like you're about to fall, tweedling and twodling.

zyoeru 26th May 2009 10:48 PM

^ I always thought it was elegant and I'm 100% sure she walks with her feet going in front of each other. :P

JackieRos 27th May 2009 12:41 AM

oh ehe this is super obvious and all people know

the billboard in her INSPIRE pv
the name INSPIRE is on it

oh god so obvious ehehhe

...and Ayu doesn't do that. She might walk with a feet in front of the other feet, but that's not what I meant, and that's more like a catwalk kinda walk.

You're talking about this when you say "feet going in front of each other":
http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/376...ithcatwalk.jpg

and that's not what pigeon toed means.

I brought up pigeon toed because someone mentioned "geisha walk". I immediately thought of pigeon toed because I thought of the peculiar ways Japanese girls walk (read: "Are Japanese Woman Intentionally Pigeon-Toed?"http://tokyo360.net/?p=74). not sure if that's the way a geisha walks but that's how I imagine! Because Japanese girls walk funny. It's called uchimata (see http://everything2.com/index.pl?node_id=1537194.

Anyway, just watched the pv again, and I don't know where you got geisha. I think it's more like a feminine hobbit. Or, just as she would walk normally, but with a little sass.

Considering the fact that she just chucked the shoes away last minute, I don't think she was thinking "hmm I'm gonna walk like a geisha to express the difficulties of living a double life as a performer and a regular woman!" or something along those lines.

from my memory geishas scuttle and walk all peculiar-like. Ayu is so much cooler than that.

http://img8.imageshack.us/img8/9845/ayuwalk.png

And here's Ayu. Nothing really geisha about it? It's a very modern, western walk. Very strong in appearance and not demure and childlike. And she strides instead of taking small steps (did a tiny research on google on how geishas walk). And I can NEVER imagine a geisha walking with feet pointing outwards like Ayu. In fact, this style of walking is called "8 legs" among the Chinese, (resembling the chinese character for 8), a very masculine, sturdy type of foot stance.

luna7996 27th May 2009 04:27 AM

In the beggining of the Endless Sorrow pv 2 men talk with the help of a electronic devise. The camera mores too fast and you cant see what they say to each other however, thanks to the screencaps from eneabba you can see that one of the man says to the other: Be Heard and you will suffer the wrath of the law!

Picaflor 7/4 27th May 2009 06:03 AM

off the top of my mind I can't think of anything, this isn't in a pv, but in a live performance. during her arena tour '05 concert. in the cutscene video for game, her boots are knee high, and when she comes out on stage, they're a little above the knee, about a third up the calf...just randomness.

yeah!!! Its not like Ayu or Avex lack the money, right?

Keiichi_JPU 27th May 2009 10:57 PM

OK it's not really a detail, but in the "Ourselves" PV, in the end it looks like the movie gets rewinded: the glass from the TV screen gathers again and then the TV is repaired like it used to and the guy who smashed the screen walks in reverse, away from the sreen.

But still, while it's supposed to be backwards, you can see Ayu on the screen singing her regular lines, in normal time order.

I don't know if that makes sense, but let's put it this way:
Everyone and everything goes back in time, instead of Ayu on the screen, who keeps on singing her lines. I think you need to watch it in order to understand because I suck at explaining this :p

Picaflor 7/4 28th May 2009 04:33 AM

I seem to be on a role with pointing out little things not in pvs. this yet again is not from a pv.

The Free & Easy cover. It looks very plain, not much too it, and its at such at weird angle. Nothing special.

http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q...e26easyby9.jpg

but what people don't pay attention to is the flag. If you look at the expanded version of the picture (different image, but expanded). The red flag in the background bares her A symbol.

^ yeah, i walk and stand with the tips of my feet pointing in front of me(well, but only because a doctor told me to go that way xD) isnt it very unhealthy to walk with the tips pointing out or in? for the back or something?

JackieRos 29th May 2009 07:17 PM

i walk like that
maybe they are not doing that on purpose maybe is how they walk

i hate walking when people are facing me
and if you normally walk pigeon toed (or whatever the hell is called)
it doesn't hurt

thannnk you! hahaha yes. i myself can't stand it. what's considered attractive is so different there. however, most girls there walk pretty normal... except that they like to wobble in heels and give the impression of "unsteadiness". When i was in Japan, I saw this girl in platforms clutching her boyfriend and she was seriously doing that pigeon toed walk. Like HARDCORE. almost completely pointed in, like that boy with the crocs... it was soo... disturbing. I thought she had a foot deformity, but then I realized she was trying to be cute. It's funny how in heels, western women like to walk "fierce" while Japanese girls like to act like they're about to fall.

and about ayu's flat feet... i think so too!!! i think they're semi flat, not quite sure though :)

and about whether walking with feet pointed out or in is healthy or unhealthy? I think straight is the best. But most men and working women walk with feet pointed out. It's a much steadier and manlier stance. You will find your hips don't sway as much.

well, it fits the video because all Startin' PV seems like shes trying to make fun of the american music industry to me(and fails because of a bad director, just like in Sparkle PV which, to me, seems like a failed parody as well)

yeah!!! Its not like Ayu or Avex lack the money, right?

Well that really isn't true. If you watch Pride Making off shot you can see that there are other things written in the billboard. It's just a little thing to make with CGI, so it doesn't really matter. When I re-watch the making off I'll tell what's in it.

i also think it's CGI. looks fake and cameras don't always "pick up" on lights the way the director wants. so the last thing they want is it to be unreadable. CGI for me!

caf2795 30th May 2009 07:14 PM

Larry David is in Picture #3, on the billboard. Actually, there are many Larry Davids on the billboard.

yukito 30th May 2009 08:08 PM

So I spent some time, and it's kinda difficult to read what's in the billboard. This was what I could get.
"...cuts 1 billion in he..."
"...airway soup and..."
"...king gas guzzl..."
that was all I could see. Oh and we get to see a CNBC logo behind Ayu too^^

And now my contribuition
For My Dear - In this PV the bar is called Ring and the movie just came to mind, but I don't think it has anything to do with it.
LOVE~Destiny~ - All the equipment has the brand name Sony (has almost every movie and series do)
Daybreak - the pv is filmed in one-shot, which by the by I find it very cool.
ANGEL'S SONG - When Ayu while in werewolf, hits both the guys she actually, or whoever is doing her stunt, do not touches them, although they spin as if they we're hit. And the clock is somehow going too fast I mean 2 hours to kick some a** and then collect the money? hmmmm -__-
BLUE BIRD - when Ayu is singin in the little island the cameraman goes around her and we can see his shadow on her several times.
I think this is it. When I get some more I'll post it

Picaflor 7/4 30th May 2009 09:34 PM

I think they look pretty cool.

wasn't pride also single shot?

noidea 30th May 2009 10:06 PM

really? I thought Pride had cuts, but i never really watched it so I can't say for sure

SKYia 30th May 2009 11:01 PM

I didn't see anyone saying that but Ayu isn't barefoot only in Curtain Call PV but also in PCDL (during Green and Will).

yap her feet are flat
it must hurt when she wears high heels (or she's used to them)
sometimes when i wear high heels my feet hurt also

noidea 30th May 2009 11:07 PM

someone mentioned her going barefoot in GREEN/Will as well, i think it has to do with the theme, I dont know how to discribe, but it makes her more standing out and pure...something in that direction xD and it makes her smaller so she isnt bigger than Maro like she maybe would be with HIGh heals^^

it is a single shot until 2:04, and then it starts to show her in a tunnel, out in that rain, and a bunch of other random shots after that.

noidea 31st May 2009 10:18 AM

^ yeah, thats it, so its no one-shot pv, I wondered how she got so wet in a one-shot xD

kendelle 3rd June 2009 05:36 AM

Is the priest in Endless sorrow the same guy who was the old man in the Kanariya PV? I swear they're the same guy =|

waterballoon 3rd June 2009 08:12 AM

^ LOL that was interesting!

MiiSan 14th November 2009 06:29 PM

Wow, interesting observation, guys @.@

I just remembered that after I watched the PV of Because of You several times I noticed there were more dancers that changed in the bedroom scenes, not just one dancer with Ayu x_x

*I know, kinda low*

noidea 14th November 2009 06:50 PM

^ VERY low xD

MiiSan 14th November 2009 06:58 PM

I know ^^;

I really didn't payed attention to the dancers, they were dressed similar and I thouth they were the same person :roflmao

Picaflor 7/4 14th November 2009 07:18 PM

^ what? how do you mistake that? don't you see the epileptically fast flashing back and forth between them?

anyone notice the A symbol in the background in Startin'?

http://eneabba.net/ayu/video/videocl....Startin28.jpg

Miduhyo 14th November 2009 07:31 PM

Wow... nice observation guys. That's really cool. I never noticed some of these. I always like those little special things in the MV's that just kind of stand off but you still can see them connected to the song somehow. I love it... Too bad there isn't much of that flair anymore... :(

ayumasing 14th November 2009 08:40 PM

The priest in the Endless Sorrow PV looks younger than the man in the Kanariya PV. If it is the same man, then that is kind of creepy/wierd.
Whoa, nice observation there in the Startin' PV, Picaflor 7/4! You guys have very good eyes...I, on the other hand, am not that good! :P

I did kinda noticed the sped up/strange move that they were doing, but like I said; I didn't really paid attention to those scenes, and I believed that it was one dancer that was feel used or whatever and Ayu was a storyteller and that was all ^^;
...and then after I saw the video several times, I noticed the differences in clothes, hair and why was that weird movement and what was all about :thud

I'm slow when it comes to these things http://i35.tinypic.com/2mnq3kg.gif

yamadashun 15th November 2009 02:08 AM

ayu's tattoo on the back was shown in 1 LOVE pv.

i remembered someone mentioned this before.

gallowsCalibrator 15th November 2009 10:48 PM

Wow, I never noticed the numbers before! ...Maybe I'm just really slow XD I should watch these things more carefully O.O *watches every Ayumi music video on iPod to find little details* *fails*

JackieRos 15th November 2009 11:22 PM

i never knew that!
:laugh
(sorry i havent found anything well yet:laugh)
