MELL is a senior singer of the j-trance/techno production group I'VE SOUND. I'VE is responsible for many game and anime sound tracks, and MELL is one of their main vocalists. She's been involved in many of the soundtracks to H-games and animes, and got her major debut on June 14th, 2006 with the single "Red fraction." Red fraction was used as the theme song to the anime "Black Lagoon," and charted 11 on the Oricon Charts, and is her most sucessful single.

MELL has gone on to release 2 more singles, and will release her debut album, MELLOSCOPE, on August 20th 2008.

Proof was used as the ending theme to the anime Hayate no Gotoku. The lyrics for both songs were by MELL. This single peaked at 18 on the Oricon Charts.

Virgin's high! was used as the opening theme to the anime Sky Girls. Lyrics for both songs once again by MELL. The single peaked at 15 on the Oricon Charts.

MELL's debut album will be released on August 20th in two editions. The regular CD-only edition, and the limited CD+DVD edition. The first pressing comes with a postcard. Also, if you order on CDJapan, you get a poster. The album features 4 new songs, 2 old songs from H-games, 2 remixed versions of old songs, and 4 songs from her first three singles.

Amazing first post ^.^ MELL caught my attention with her first single, so I recommend everyone who is curious about her to listen to that! =D

Her PVs are kind of scary, especially the No Vain PV ._.

I worked very hard on it x_x...

MELL had me captured with Red fraction. I had that on loop for weeks after I first heard it. Even though MELL has an obvious I'VE voice, I still feel that she's pretty unique, and she's my favorite.

Also, let's set the record straight:

The lyrics to Red Fraction are pretty strange.

Oh yes, I can't stand the other IVE artists. MELL stands out big time, she's unique anmd her music is really good.

I TRIED listening to KOTOKO once or twice, but she just...idk x.x;

You can definately hear the classic I'VE sound in her voice (especially in Virgin's high!), but at the same time, it's unique, and that's what I love about MELL =D

Red fraction's lyrics make me lol, "no time for sissy pig!" XD

I couldn't make out one of the parts....does she say "I want to bang you" ???? o_o
In the beginning I think. Because it really does sound like it...or she might be saying "I want to BLAME you" ionno. :shrug what do you think GRACE?

I knew all the lyrics to Red fraction at one point... Hmm... Let me see I think it's "I just wanna bury you"

Red fraction and kicks! are my favorite MELL songs =D Also, imo, Proof is probably the worst ^^;; I'm glad it's not on MELLOSCOPE.

The Red fraction lyrics are like messed up, but I love them XD I especially love when she sings "You made a mess, for Christ's sake this rotten world, **** out of luck" XD

I haven't listened to Eiko so I can't say anything :P

..oh well. i know MELLSCOPE will be great. preview of SCOPE's pv seems pretty decent. the Engrish is still there, but that's just why i love MELL<3

Well her charting isn't bad so far, all in the top 20s I believe.

But it's been so long since she last released something, but I'VE girls tend to chart decently, so I'm not all too worried.

Well the album is out today, but I can't find it anywhere. I'm leaving for the doctors to get shots(:laugh) and I need something to calm the thought of pain. (I hate needles). Leah is helping me but I need MELL too! :headache

I really like this album <3~ I wish I'd gotten it before the First Press went out of stock =(... Oh well, I'll get it eventually. SCOPE and The first finale in me are my favorites of the new tracks~!

i like SCOPE the most too at the moment. but the other new songs are good too. Under Superstition will be my next favorite<3

FINALLY some news on MELL's second! Release date pushed back by almost a month (so it's 27.10. now), album title will be MIRAGE, tracklist will contain at least KILL, Rideback and Red Fraction (IO Drive mix). No full tracklist or covers yet, but hey, this is far better than the information starvation we've had to go through during the last couple of months. Feel free to discuss!

I can't beleive it wasn't released on MELLSCOPE but is slapped on here. :P No On my own makes me a sad panda. :(

^Whoever is bitc-hing here? I can't see anything negative in the last few posts, save for my own comment about being sad due to no On my own on the tracklist. But that is nowhere near bitc-hing. I prefer On my own over Proof, so what? I love MELL and I'm extatic about this album, I can't wait for the end of October!

I am personally looking forward to this. I haven't really been listening to her much... more like Noyau a lot that album was really good Fishtone and MELL make a good team.

I have nothing against tacking old songs onto the album. As I said, I love Sabaku no Yuki being there, and I don't really have any problem with Proof, I just find it weird that it's being released on this album while no vain, Proof's b-side, was on MELLSCOPE. I think it's weird they release a b-side on the first album, and then the a-side on the next album. :P

I'd like to hear how mirage sounds. There's a preview available on MELL's official site, but my sucky computer crashes whenever I try to watch it. :| But I've heard people say it's great.

I'll have to look and give my opinion on it.

Lol it's fine, I am just looking forward to some new songs from her. I need a good MELL fix these days. A little off topic but Mami Kawada's new album wasn't all that great to me so hoping MELL's will be better :/
