Do u think ayu has the most outstanding PVs compared to other Jpop artist??
 

So what do u think....?? Does ayu has the most meaningful PVs?? :)
Or do u think that there's other singers who have better PVs than ayu??

Ayu's PV's are really cool,and Koda Kumi PV's are cool too.It's a tie.

hmm i like ayu's but like some of hikki's pvs are meaningful too~ and i just don't like kumi at all...don't really think hers are that meaningful

I'd surely say she is on top with her PV's. Only because she is such a huge asset from AVEX that she gets all the top directors etc for her PV's :P Which doesn't really mean good results lol.

I've always loved ayu's PVs. She seems to view them as a visual representation of the song (as they should be) but then you get other artists and its like "OK you sit in the corner and cry" or "i'm just gonna stand here and dance for 3 to 4 minutes"

Not only are her PV's outstanding complared to othere Japanese Artists. But Ayu's PV's beat out most of the PV's we get over here in the states.

I really don't think so. I think ayu's PV's used to be outstanding but lately they're half-hearted and made out of necessity. Ayu used to tell stories, she used to at least have good art direction (the editing always kinda stunk tho).

Right now, all my favorite PVs are by alan & AAA. And Kimura Kaela, just cuz she's so nuts. XD

I think she has extremely wonderful PVs and is definitely in the top, IMO; but I also really like all of Ai Otsuka and Koda Kumi's PVs. I think those 3 are at a close tie.

Ayu's PVs are AWESOME but it's a tie compare to Ai Otsuka. Kuu's PV sometimes are Good, Utada too.

i dont know many other jpop artists, i think theyre boring and i dont want to know about any of them really

Yea...her PVs are very good...
though to the average viewer, it may appear quite random at times..like Moments...
but im sure they all have their meanings

her PV are always amazing! i open my mouth wide whenever i watch some of them

maybe its because avex is using lots of money to make the whole thing beautiful and spectacular, blah, its not my business though, at least i'm enjoying most of her PV. most of her summer song's PV are gorgeous and fairyland is one of the most beautiful PV i ever seen

Her PVs are amazing, sometimes random and seemingly meaningless, but awesome nevertheless.

I always love Ayu, kuu and Namie's PV.. they're awesome.. other singer I found quite boring for me

I am always impressed with Ayu's PVs. I only watch J-music PVs these days (I find english-language PVs to be really boring) I think the overall standard is higher with Japanese productions for music.

Endless Sorrow, Fairyland, Alterna, M and connected are all FANTASTIC examples of PVs and how they SHOULD be made :)

I like Namie's PVs too but they are all kinda the same thing - her dancing about (busting some moves XD) - so while they look nice, they don't hold the attention at all...

Ayu's PV are the best one I have ever seen. Is ont only she singin with a background and is changing and sometimes shes dancing, or walking in the street... Are not simple PV (one's are more simple than others of course...) and the majority of them are simply so meaningfull as her lyrics!!

In spain ther's no singer that make PV like ayu do... imposible to find it!! And with other japanese artist... well, I can find some other Pv that are... good... but they aren't telling me nothing...

Her PVs are meaningful and has hidden messages(IMO)..But they don't spot the top always! Some of other jpop PVs are also great.

i found some ayu's PVs are great and some just ok...but the most important thing for me is the songs (they're the BEST!!)

no because there're other JPop acts that I support that has great PVs to boot

somemore I haven't seen any artiste which PVs are all fantastic

i have to admit most of the Japanese PVs are good. it's evident that a lot of money is put into those PVs.

Hmms.. I think ayu is kinda original too.... In terms of concept, just like.. Marionette, Together when..... I find that cool.... :)

Ayu's and Hikki's PV's are the best in all ways for me

I do love her PV's but of course there are some others. I love Do As Infinity, the brilliant green, Hikki, BONNIE PINK, and some by capsule.

i want more pvs like rainbow and alterna! with these vids she is top!

so yeah, overal i think she's got it! there are so many artists who just stand in a scenery, and that's basically it.

I've always loved ayu's PVs they are interesting, meaningful and outstanding compared to other Japanese Artists.

I really don't think they're meaningful anymore. The last REALLY good ayu PV, in my opinion, was alterna (and it was absolutely one of her best of all time, and I was really looking forward to future steps in that same direction). Together When... showed promise, but it didn't really do enough.

Most of the time, lately, the videos are just ayu looking pretty. Which I have absolutely no positive opinion of.

When ayu does another "Endless sorrow" or "RAINBOW" or even something with really good art direction like "M", then we'll talk.

I think Ayu's pvs happen to be the most interesting I've ever seen. She does seem to experiment a lot though sometimes the result is not that great.. lately most seem more of a display of eyecandy. I like the fact that we get to see her all over the world filming her pvs though.

Honsetly, I don't really think that all ayumi's pvs are good, so does Namie or Kuu. But some of them like forgiveness, jewel and fairyland are top notch

She used to have awesome PVs, but lately it's been hit or miss.

there's a lot of PVs of artists that are just as good (and actually go with the lyrics). ayumi has unique PVs compared to others. also, they're actually well constructed, plot-wise and setting-wise. a few were like, wth so half-arsed and "bleh" (like jewel, decision, and don't leave me alone)... like, making a pv just for the sake of it only like most artists, and lately, ayumi has become more and more like those artists... her PVs seem so... not as creative just like her song titles.

and speaking of namie. i love her but she looks poker-faced all the time. like, she's doing it b/c she has to. thats why her PVs never really does anything to me.

ît depends on the song...and as soem of ayus songs are declining in deep meaning so do the PVs...last outstandig was Marionett for me.....

other singer have good ones to, but still depends on the song....

Yes I think in general, not each and every one, ayu has the best PVs of all Jpop artists I've ever seen videos from. She also has a very big range of themes and styles, visuals.

You have the simple, but strong PVs like HEAVEN, the easy to get the meaning of sentimental ones like momentum, the creepy ones that deal with bad sides of humanity like Endless sorrow and ourselves, the personal ones like dearest and the visuals like jewel. She has something for everyone.

but overall ayu's PV are very nice :D i think .. for me, every artist got their own story/personal, so can't really compare :innocent

I have to agree here. At least...early Kumi ones. Not really the ones from her Kingdom album. Kumi and Ayumi are the only pop artists that I feel compelled to buy the dvd version of their albums. And yes, I say artists period, not just Jpop. I usually don't get sucked into music videos, but I love Ayumi and Kumi Pv's. On Ayumi, I can't think of a PV I didn't like.

I think RAINBOW was one of her better ones that contained a lot of meaning and was almost like a mini story in itself. Def her most oustanding PV along with Voyage. I wish she would do more PVs like those two to be totally honest.

not really? iono. but ayu's pvs do make me think of them everytime i hear the song, and they really do fit the song :)

Ayu's PV are different from other J-pop artists for me. She has typical PVs of course but some of them are a far cry from other J-pop artists. It's hard to explain. It could just be the direction of the PV or how its presented. She has some very talented people working for her and of course she too is talented being putting the thoughts behind these videos.

I think some of her PVs are just amazing and belong to the top PVs there are and she only had a few really bad PVs(I think her only really bad PVs in the last 5 years were Startin', Born to Be and Beautiful Fighters). I can't compare to other japanese artists, because the only artists I really watch the PVs of are Ayu and HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR and Haikara PVs are boring like hell.
But compared to the PVs we get here in Europe and the PVs from american artists, Ayus are really outstanding, because most PVs I see if I watch MTV or something are just crap.

But I don't think she has like, ZOMG ZA BEST PV EVAR award. Every singer has there share of good PV's, and bad PV's. Right now, the best PV in my eyes, is FINAL DISTANCE omg <3

Her PV's outshine a lot of other J-Pop artists PV's that I've watched before. Of course she has a few that are standard, and some that are even boring, but overall her PV's are best.

but I can't really say that since I haven't really seen THAT many PVs from an array of other artists.

but a lot of things I've noticed she puts in production, like her concerts, are a lot better than a lot of others.

I like the main concept of it, but it just overdoes this "american" style, her outfits(accept that dress, I love the dress!) and the outfits of the dancers are pure trash and I don't like the overuse of color effects, it just looks TOO trashy too me, but then again...I loved Ladies Night PV, which was pure trash, too, but it was supposed to be trash.

I'm rather limited with the artists I can compare Ayu's PV's with, only Hikki, Kuu, Namie, and Mika technically. But it's kind of hard to compare them because their styles are so different(music, fashion, personality, ect). Visually, I think Hikki and Mika's PV's are overall more artistic than Ayu's. However I feel like sometimes Ayu has more interesting concepts than them, even if her videos aren't as pretty as theirs (IMO). Ayu's PV's seem the most similar to Kuu's aside from the musical style and use of sex appeal. I can't really compare Ayu to Namie, because they're the most different. Yes, they both dance(Namie more often than Ayu), but it seems like Ayu utilizes a less abstract underlying storyline than Namie. Well, sometimes... for example using 2 that just came to mind, Ayu's fairyland PV doesn't really seem all that different from say... Namie's "ALARM" PV. So yeah, in conclusion, I remain undecided!

not sure..j-pop artists pv bores me most of the time, only some are better.. But I do like Voyage PV esp though ~ I prefer Ayu lives more than her pvs

I haven't seen all her PVs, but from what I have seen, I have mixed views. Her last 4 PVs are really good.
But I hate the startin' PV. Its so crap, I especially hate the geek and chav at the start of the PV. They annoyed me straight away. And the PV for Daybreak is extremely boring.

Morning Musume's early PVs compared to Ayu's early PVs are a lot better. But Ayu's latest PVs compared with Morning Musume's latest PVs are a lot better.

The first watch is a warm-up and as I watch the PV 3-4-5 times I begin to interpret it in my own way, I love it! ^^ (yey FIRST post!!)

I love her PVs and compared to what I've seen so far imo hers are the best! As I watch a PV more than once I begin to notice many details I have missed preciously and I love it xD

Agree it's so true! Her PV's are the BEST. And I'm saying it without any Ayu obsession.
They are masterpieces almost always. And I'm okay with the fact that sometimes they are simple like for example CAROLS.
Kuu also has really GREAT PV's compare to the other artists and not only Japanese.

I think around m(u) her PVs became more 'outstanding' (think, glitter and gloss) and a lil less meaningful and interesting... which is a strange thought isn't it? I dont think I could explain myself though :)

Up until about 2006ish/2007 she did. Since then her PVs have varied between bad (born to be) and slightly above average - most have been average at best though. It's been a long time since she has had a truly truly great PV.

Ayu's PV is the best.
Namie's is also good.

I think Ayu's recent PVs are better than her earlier ones. However, I think most of Ayu's PVs are not great, as in they are entertaining but not spectacular. I usually watch her PVs because she's hot as well as other artists. Yes, I am shallow.

I did found myself watching the Dearest PV (Piano Version) many times before on repeat because it calms me. It's the only PV in the world that made me felt that way. Thing is, the PV really is boring, but the good kind of boring. It's the kind of boring you like to sit through and never makes you yawn. ^_^
