Rock = Short Hair
 

Have you ever noticed that when Ayu releases a more rockish album, she cuts her hair?

Those are all described as more rock-oriented albums, and all of through the year of the single releases, promotions, etc Ayu's hair is short most of the time.

i wouldn`t call I am... a rock oriented album. besides, she had longer hair when that was released. she had the short hair late 2000/early 2001.
TBH i think (miss)understood was a more rock oriented album, and she had long hair during that as well.

hmm...

I would really only count MY STORY, Secret, and GUILTY more rock albums...

I think in this case, it only applies for MY STORY and GUILTY.

Maybe she thinks short hair looks cooler. I actually love Ayu's short hair.

well I am...i wouldn't call that rock really~ and MY STORY is yeah..but i don't see how she can't do the songs without having short hair, then for talkin' 2 myself, the rock hair looked better
but ayu changes her hair a lot, short to long~ she isn't like namie to just keep growing her hair

I think it's for MY STORY and GUILTY too. She had long hair for I am... and I think it's not really a rock album. =D

It's because it's too hard for Ayu to head bang with long hair. XD
But then again.. pretty much most of her later albums are rock based. :B

Well, I'll just go with GUILTY then. Maybe she thought it fit the mood of talkin' 2 myself better. Because that's when she cut it after it was long from glitter and A BEST 2.

i wouldnt consider I am... to be a rock album.. but it's pretty noisy. the tracklist consists of Connected, evolution, UNITE!, NEVER EVER and still alone which are all pretty loud.

But i have to agree that short hair suits rock better. Long hair gives the "demure and gentle" look. ayu's hair during INSPIRE times were ok..

talkin' 2 myself was just horrible.. it's neither as cool as INSPIRE times, nor a bob. it looks terrible. however when ayu sang Together When..., her bob was cool looking and i am happy with that.

anybody reminded of ayu during No way to say times where she had this short hair do with no fringe?? the hairstyle she received some very honourable award in?

well i have to say that i love her short hair more thatn the long one. the GUILTY era hair was just PERFECT!!!!!

i think she cuts her hair for rochish-eras because he looks more like a rebbel, and not so pop-ish like her long hair makes her look^^

True that. But she had short hair post TO BE and her style wasn't particularly rock-ish then. Personally i like her more with longer hair. Straight and free like (m)u or RAINBOW or gently curled like A Ballads.

I loved ayu's hair brown...it's the best it's ever looked in my opinion...especially the style in B&D and Pride PVs...I LOVE her hair in those!

Secret to me has heavy rock overtones, but is still dominated by pop and dance, as is typical of Ayu. Her rock hair is really sexy, and it works for her.

ummm interesting observation. short hair is more masculine, and rock is more masculine, so maybe that's why

IMO there's no such thing as a rock album.. Ayu's always had some rock songs (startin from End of the World in Duty?), but all of her albums are pretty much varied.

I dunno about you guys but I dig the long hair on Ayu.

In ASFXX she also has short hair. I think she just likes short hair. She really rocks the look. :P

A lot of her rock-feeling songs that nearly all people would agree as being rock (Talkin' 2 Myself, Decision, (don't) leave me alone, About You, ect.) have her in short hair. A lot don't, however. It may be, though, that she sees this as a more rock-esk look. Rock is rebellious in some degree, and many rocker chicks have short hair, because it's not so girly. That may be where she's coming from.

ourselves was kinda rock~ but she had long hair for that, and because of you too, only she did a mohawk like thing...is this LOVE? was long haired :yes, 1 LOVE was kinda too

GUILTY was probably her rockiest album, but I think her other albums are generally pop with rock influences. Regardless, I like her short hair.

i'd say it's more that when she releases rock singles, it's short hair. but then again, for instance, during moments and no way to say promotion it was short as well...but i do know what you mean. her hair *tends* to be shorter during more angsty songs :P

Love her short hair. I still like her long hair. But still love her short hair.
