Welcome to thread part 6 http://i34.tinypic.com/f1b9lv.jpg Basic Introduction TVXQ an acronym for Tong Vfang Xien Qi (東方神起), is a quintet South Korean boy band formed under SM Entertainment in 2003, and later introduced to Japan under Avex Trax in 2005. Since their debut, TVXQ has become one of the most popular singing groups in East Asia, gaining great popularity in South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and other East Asian countries. TVXQ is referred to as Dong Bang Shin Ki (동방신기) in South Korea; fans often abbreviate the name to DBSK. The Japanese equivalent of the group's name is Tohoshinki, which is promotionally only used in Japan. TVXQ, the acronym based on the Chinese counterpart of their name, is the abbreviation officially used on all products and advertisements outside of Japan. TVfXQ is also used, but not often. Their name roughly translates as "Rising gods of the East." (동방의 신이 일어나다) Musical Style TVXQ was initially marketed as an a cappella group, most of the group's music is mainstream K-pop and J-pop. Their debut single "Hug" was a bubblegum pop song, but their follow up single "The Way U Are" was a dance/R&B number, complete with stylized outfits and choreographed dance moves. Their third major single release, "믿어요" (I Believe), in contrast, was a ballad. TVXQ concluded the year with a Christmas album that also had an a cappella version of "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring". With their releases in 2004, the group showed a versatility in style. With consecutive releases, they have not moved from this formula, as their second and third albums have had a similar mixture without moving outside of the mainstream. The second album's singles, for example, included a dance song (their first release) and a ballad (their follow up). The third album's releases have been dance, ballad and pop tracks. The group also recorded a cappella tracks for official albums released in both Korea and Japan, in which they rearrange original songs as a cappella versions. In the 13th single released in Japan, TVXQ arranged their debut single 'Hug' as an a cappella track and performed it in their 2nd Live Tour in Japan. In Japan, the group's image and music has shifted towards a different market from the one in South Korea. Owing to their more mature fan base in Japan, TVXQ has gravitated towards a cappella and melodic pop songs rather than the heavy and fast pop tunes, coupled with intensive dance choreography, that are commonly seen in their usual hits in South Korea. yeaa..gotta agree with some of u here..that i prefer their Japanese songs more than their Korean songs... therefore i started to like the boys because they also sing Japanese songs.. i hope that they will release a new Japanese album next year!! :D but their MIROTIC album isn't that bad :) :) anyway, their performance at today's 29th BLUE DRAGON AWARDS 2008 singing MIROTIC remix version credit: the uploader~ i like the MIROTIC remix version so much! |

They need to stop changing their hairstyles...I wouldn't classify myself as a 'fan', but I'm hopelessly in love with 'Doushite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimatta n Darou' (I rediscovered it after hearing it for the first time when I saw them perform it at a-nation this summer) and since I'm still relatively new to this whole Tohoshinki thing, their hair is the only way I can tell them apart. T^T So when they change their hairstyles, I'm back at square one! Blaaah...

Hero/Jae Joong is used to be the member who always changes the hairstyle, but this year, to everyone's surprise, specially these recent months, he doesn't change at all~ weird~ maybe he's still filming his first series... but it's always nice to see them changing hairstyles.. if u got to know more, u'll get used to it :)

If they do release a completely new song rather than a japanese version of Wrong Number or whatever other Korean song, then it would make sense that the album would be released in first half of the year.

Not sure if any of you heard this but there are rumors going around that Changmin was attacked by an anti fan at the Kimpo airport
Apparently when TVXQ was at the Kimpo airport a few days ago, two chinese anti-fans approached Changmin, yelled at him and hit him on the head. There really isn't much evidence of this actually happening. People are making these accusations off of a fan video where the boys turn around and see some commotion happening in the background (where Changmin was) and also some photo's of Changmin adjusting his beanie on his head. i heard about it on the dbsg lj community (though the entry was deleted for drama lol). i'm not going to automatically assume that it did happen, but honestly, it looks like it did. :no a bag is obviously thrown at him at the beginning of the video and the people around him seem to be a bit too worried for him to just be adjusting his hat.

They should concentrate on forcing the kids to go to friggin school rather than skip school to go to TV show recordings! Jeez. "I got you under my skin" is the best line from the song and how it's suggestive sexually...well you gotta read into it WAY too much. Morons. MIROTIC sucks now. Forever bound to listening to the CD and new live performances are gonna be awful. It wont surprise me if they stop showing flesh in performances/videos because they're too sexy for their prebusecent fans. >.> |
