If you've ever shown your friends and family Ayu's PVs what did they say?

I was with my mom today in a waiting room, and it was taking a long time. So I decided to watch some PVs on my iPod. I was watching WHATEVER, and my mom said that Ayu looked animated. :P Then I watched M. This time all she said was ayu was pretty.

I bring it up because I usually don't let anyone know that I listen to Asian music. you know what the response would be by some...

So what do your family/friends think of Ayu PVs?

hmm...my dad really liked the fairyland PV~ he thought it was really pretty <3
my friend watched the Moments PV with me, but she's too serious, so she's like "what's wrong with her makeup"
my other friend watched BLUE BIRD, and she thought it was pretty
mostly superficial comments...

My father watched evolution being broadcasted on PV a month ago, and then they called me to show me that ayu was being broadcasted on TV, and my father asked: this is ay...ay... and I said "ayumi hamasaki, yeah", and then he said "hmm, she is japanese....but she had plastic surgery, right?"

That's all, though. She only watches them, but doesn't really comment. But she does agree that she's really pretty and her PVs can be really nice :D
And she's not "that much of a fan" I quote, if a fan at all.

i showed my friend the mirrorcle world PV and all she could do was make fun of her dress. and she said she wanted to 'shoot her' for wearing it.
and my other friend kept saying how her eyes were too huge in like every video

I mom loved M and my dad...well he said Ayu looks so much like a Barbie. Hehehhe, i told my mom that people thought Ayu had work done on her face but my mom said, "no, she's just pretty."

My friend likes Mirrorcle World the song, but expressed some disappointment at the PV. "That wasn't as epic as it should've been."

my mom watched Mirrorcle World PV and said that the red dress was a bit too much xD
but she loved her overcoat at the beginning of the pv. :P

My sister likes watching glitter/fated PV because she like Shawn Yue.. But my sister prefers to enjoy ayu's concert..And My sister always laugh when she sees (don't) Leave me alone PV. She don't like it because of her outfit and her dancers (according to her including my cousin) are really funny..
My mom would just say ayu's pretty and nothing else...

No one has ever seen any videos by Ayumi Hamasaki in my house. If they did, they would probably ignore it or make fun of me. lol

my friend was mesmerized by her totally! she wanted to continue watching all the pvs at my place and didn't even want to go home..

i think she's amazed by the amount of effort being put in the pv and how pretty she is!!

My friend and i watched the dearest PV. And she said that the PV is totally weird. Because ayu changes her outfit so many times. :laugh And my other friend really likes my name's WOMEN PV too. And also, Greatful Days PV was weird with the crocodile in there. :P

I made my boyfriend watch RAINBOW once. He was totally bored all the way through! ^^;; Then I showed him Connected because he's an anime nerd and he said:

My mum thinks Ayu's kind of pretty but thinks I'm weird for liking her music but aren't Japanese!! She just wonders why I don't like English top 10 songs =|

The first PV my friends saw was ourselves in which they were spooked but intrigued by the abstract PV.

When we were wasted we spent the entire night just watching all of her PVs and they loved it. One of them said "Shes a TRUE artist". Some thought she was cute, others thought she was pretty hot.

My sister saw some PVs such as alterna, is this LOVE?, jewel, 1 LOVE. Shes also very intrigued by how abstract her PVs are and tries to decipher what meaning or message there are to them.

I haven't showed my mom but I don't think I ever would nor would I expect a good reaction. Err...lets just say its a japan/korea thing :(

They both sit and watch the pv's and commercials and tours with me.

My mum likes Moments so much that I'm getting 'I'll be in full bloom by your side' tattooed on me, just for her :)

My friends love her PV concept and effects, she's beautiful and flawless. Her dresses are great and they want me to introduce more and more Ayu's PV and tell them the meaning behind it XD

I've converted my sister to Ayu fan because of showing AT2005 DVD, and GAME caught her attention

My parents...hmmm...they don't really comment on what I'm doing except saying, "Always ayumi? isn't there any other singers you like?". But my father said that Ayu didn't have any operations on her face,,, her nose is normal he said

Umm well our TV is in the living room, and I prefer TV over computer watching so yea they see it a lot

My mom is always positive but her only negative comment is that she didn't like Ayu's slu77y outfits like 1 LOVE at AT07 and that she doesn't need it because she has enough talent. Which imo is true.

My father is weird. He always downloads stuff for me without me asking, and he loves HANABI and fated. But on the other hand he always ridicules her music and concerts, like making funny noises with the music. Like shouting the lyrics in a dumb sarcastic way, or imitating a goat when you hear the shouting noise in Mirrocle World chorus. >_> very annoying. but then again I dont like him lolz

Some of my friends really love Marionette and actually listen to it themselves and put it on at their parties and stuff xD they also like mirrorcle world but that's it.

My best friend is not really a fan but she likes most music Ayu makes. GUILTY is her favorite album. She knows most of her music and PV's though.

My mum likes to watch the Asia Tour 2007 / A Complete footage with me when I'm watching it in the living room.

I just showed my sis the guilty photobook and she says the blonde hair does not fit her (she says everyone wants to be blonde) she and my mom also asked if she has some surgery on...:grumpy but they both think (especially my mom) Ayumi is very pretty :yes

My friends apparently LOVES Mirrorcle World... and BLUE BIRD. My mum on the other hand loves her A Song For XX works. Yea including the 10th anniversary songs ayu resung besides Who... . Maybe because it's more for her era :P

I showed my friend JEWEL and FAIRYLAND, and he thought she's really pretty and the music is different, although both he and I agreed on the fact that FAIRYLAND doesn't look as expensive as people say :D Jewel looks more expensive

my boyfriend gives me such a hard time about ayu! it actually gets quite annoying...

like just now i was like "omg i just downloaded GREEN PV!!! watch it with me!" and he acted as if i was asking him to take out the trash... ;p

And when she says that... then I say (so sarcastic): "Okay mum.. I get your point.." and then I play Ayu so loudy as I can!!! and then my mother got freaked out...... and that's funny xD

At the moment I am making my friend a fan of Ayu...
She likes Ayu, but she doesn't love it.. She is more of the male-bands...
So far I know... she likes 1 LOVE and all that rocksongs... as PV I dunno... I think it was part of ME and 1 LOVE which she sooo uber-love :3

They would say her eyes are big..well that's true but they are pretty as well! My sis liked the pv Voyage due to the storyline~

My brother says her music is "okay", but is generally uninterested, which is cool with me. One of my little sisters likes her music, but is not much of a fan. I would say the main problem is definitely the language barrier.

Ayu's songs sometimes come up on my iPod when we're in the car, so my family is forced to listen! hahaha.

Surprisingly, no one's really mentioned much about her voice other than it gets really "squeaky" at times. My brother thinks she's hot. :innocent

I tend to get pretty bad reactions, or reactions which are really uninterestedd, which is just as bad...:(

I gave up trying to get other people to appreciate ayu. Although recently one of my workmates was asking me about her and I was saying how great she was....later that week when I saw him again it turned out he'd decided to google her and watch some you tube clips, he had even sent me a link of when ayu forgets her lyrics!! (as if I hadn't seen it lol)

I had told him that even though I love her, a lot of the people who I've played her to always say something about her being shrieky or screechy, he said he couldn't see why, and that he actually liked some of her songs.

The fact that he went to look at all these clips without me forcing him to was quite a nice surprise!! plus a positive reaction !! :)

I thought the PV would be much more 'GRAND', judging from what I hear.

in reunions sometimes i put some asian dvds, my friends love evolution live they always sing the wow yeah part with vibrato :tired, part of Me and Voyage PVs too

Family um, mom loves when ayu cries in tours, and says ayu is a complete eartist; my brother says: does she have to cry in every moveeeeee!!!!!?????????

My girlfriend is the only person who knows Ayumi's my favourite artist (she's bought me tons of her DVD's for christmas + birthdays).

Not many of my friends know I like Japanese/asian music, as some responses have been "Uh, weird. O.O". But my girlfriend is the only person who I've converted to an ayumi fan :P

She's seen alot of her PV's from my computer and iPod. She saw the Mirrorcle World and she keeps saying "Ooooh, she's so hawt". Some of her older videos she thinks are weird...

My dad saw me watching the evolution PV and he said she was quite pretty. My sister saw me watching a live independent performance and called me a freak lol.

Pretty, big eyes, who is she... seems to be the major response. XD

I showed my brother the "M" PV once, but he didn't seem too interested... He just kept on going "MA-RI-A blablabablablabla" afterwards... anyways, I got the feeling that it wasn't what he was expecting (which made me happy) since he was expecting it to be really bad.

I've watched a few lives with my mom... but she had her glasses off!!! LOL HAHAHA
So she kept on asking me "what's that? what's that?" She LOVES "Dearest" to the point that she cried the first time I played it to her though!

For the longest time my family made fun of me for liking her... actually they still do. My mom doesn't though. I made her a CD and she told me she liked every single song on it, especially Dearest and Moments. But I still get teased by everybody else :(

My mom has become a crazy ayu fan like me! hahaha! When I told her that Ayu was doing "Rule" for Dragonball, she was like "OMG we have to see it now!!!" lol

I've converted my sister and my sister in turn has converted a few of her friends. XD My parents don't have much of a reaction to her. They're just neutral. Not their taste.

My little brother is always brainwashed by me to like Ayu. XD

It's good to show others PVs like ourselves and alterna... or my name's WOMEN-- these are the more intriguing ones to show I think.

everybody who sees her on my cubicle wall at work say that she is very very pretty, they say she's beautiful sometimes.

About the music, none of them have listened to her music yet, i don't do that anymore because when I was in school my friends used to laugh at me saying she is not better than Britney. I don't know why latin people use to compare all artists with Britney even its not the same type of music?! i hate it.

Well, my family knows that I'm into JPop, and sometimes they'll watch a PV with me and ask me a lot of questions like, "Who's this? Do you understand what they're saying? What are they singing about?" That sort of thing. My friends, on the other hand, tend to make fun of me about it, though I don't really see why. But it doesn't really bother me, because I just do what makes me happy :D

I showed a few pvs and lives to friends of mine, but just to female ones, i would get weird answers from male ones, i showed them marionette and they were like: wow, that video is so cool! i like the white eyes.
then i showed them alterna and they said: shes so pretty!
and after i showed them mirrorcle world, they said she has such a big dress^^

No Ayu in my families and friends. They admitted that Ayu is so cute. But then, they will say I am TOO Ayu. Sometimes, they said I am crazy for loving Ayu so much.

In my family: They don't care much, but my brother always teasing me by calling me Ayumi. I am really so sick about it. I don't really care if someone wanna call me Ayumi or else, but like the way my brother called me, is really annoying me.

Among friends: Without me, they would never know who is Ayu. They just get sick because I am really get into Ayu. There some of my friends do love music from Japan and Korea but none of my BEST friends love it.

My best friend saw the Talkin' 2 myself video and he said that the song was decent and the video looked nice.

One of my little cousins saw the Carols making video and said "The swing is so high! How can she get down?"

And I thought my mom would like the Jewel MV since she likes jewelry and she said "Son? When are you going to get me a collection like that?"

I send marionette's pv to my friend and he said the pv was good but the song it's weird (OMG!), he also said he can't belive ayu is so hot (xD)

My friends went crazy when they saw Inspire's last scene with the Hummer ( Ayu gave them a good impression :) ) and they like her A hat , and I love that hat too.
Again , they all out of their mind when they saw Ayu in [B]Ladies Night[/B]. They like her and thought she was cute in that outfit . .. ( I was the only one who think the dress looks weird and strange . I don't like it at all )
I showed them Bold & Delicious and they sung along while playing cards ya ya ya ya , ga ga ga ga , da da da da wo wo wo . . that was fun .. ( we made a good memory :P) after that incident , 1 of them always sing that part (ya,ga,da,wo) when he meet me or when I mentioned about Ayu

Most of my friends say shes pretty, some like her music too. Mostly, they think that her PVs are strange. However, my mom not only likes her music, but she likes her PV too. She says some are really cute and pretty, and she also likes that she doesn't take off all her clothes.

and other times, the people that apparently don't like her so much, are like "uhhhh, okay, strange" but then i'm like that when they start watching something, so i can't blame them >.<

i really get funny reactions like someone dropping their mouth open and saying, "OMG, she is so pretty" or something and other times i get reactions like "that was weird, but i liked the song" i haven't heard anything super negative about them though, since her videos aren't so extreme as some peoples with blood and stuff

the moments video was quite strange for some people, but i loved it, they said that it looked pretty grose XD
and the JEWEL PV was commented as "the eyelashes are scary"

The first time I told/showed a friend something about Ayu... was after another friend talked about a korean drama... "Stairs-way- to Heaven" o.O'... 3 of us became fans of that drama!... anyways, when we were all into that I told them about Ayu... but they (I don't get why!!?) didn't care about it!!... they went like -"oh... cool... what was I saying?..."- One day I sent ~Glitter/Fated~ PVs to 2 friends with the translation (so they would see the beauty in them)... but all they said was -"oh that's cute..."- i don't know why its so hard for them to see at leats half of the beauty I see in those PVs... or in Ayu's songs!!!!!.... that frustrates me!..... but anyway!... My mom is just like my friends... -"she's cute.."- but I'm always reading her the translations of any new song... lol... (We're from South America) so I must say that I have an extra work translating from english to spanish -trying my best to keep Ayu's poetry-..... the song that touched my mom the most (and still not as much I would like... U.U') was "M"... I told her the way Ayu got inspired by her friend's story and all that... so she did like it... my little cousin... she just thinks that Ayu's is pretty... but she didn't like Ayu's look on "Because of you" PV... XD and I think my dog likes her... -.-'

Hmmsss..... ayu's pv are usually more outstanding than others. She's beautiful and could display originality in her videos..... futhurmore, she's talented and has a good voice...

Well, my family knows that I listen j-music usually.. less my father. (We have a bad relationship really) My mother always tells me "she's pretty, but I hate her nails! (<-she said that after have seen guilty's photobook xD) and for example.. this song.. yeah, it was a colour.. the chinese... oh yes, GREEN! this is a veeery plane song. Pretty, but too plane".

My sister has never seen any PV, only songs, and always says that she is chinese, and scolds me, telling me "stop download chinese music right now! if you download more, the pc will have more virus!" T_T

My friends.. well, one friend is the guitarist of a rock-band, so I showed him T2M. He liked it ^^ Another friend is very weird, because she only heard spanish music. Not english, let alone music from Japan! But I have friends that usually listen j-pop, so it's more easy with them! ^^
They like ayumi, mostly songs like Greatful days, Will, free & easy, Beautiful Fighters, etc.

Oh! and in the last year, we had to make one work for highschool; we had to do a dance (yes, it's incredible, I know xD) and we use "Mirrorcle World" as song! ^^ our coreography was on the style of marionette (we were marionettes) and it was very succesful! my whole class heard ayumi and everybody told me that it was a very incredible song, although they call me usually freak xD

Me and my friend watched Ladies Night together. We spent a good time debunking the symbolism in the video XD and she always screams at the end with the guy

I'm half japanese, I've studied with lots of nikkei people, so me listening to japanese music is not thaat weird... But most of my friends would rather listen to american pop...
Closest friends knows I'm a big fan, and when they listen someone asking me what kind of music I listen to, they just grin =p

My mother, whose father actually came from Japan when he was a child, likes Ayu's music, mainly ballads (part of Me, JEWEL, HEAVEN, walking proud...), and she just LOOOOVED part of Me PV, the tree, the costumes... It's cool XD

My brother listened to korean pop instead of japanese, so even though he doesn't care much about Ayu, he won't say a thing.

My father... He doesn't like her, and always tries to convince me to listen to more national songs... Apparently it bothers him that I basically just listen to japanese music...

I'm brazilian, but since portuguese and spanish are somewhat similar, I understood what you said and... I totally agree XD

My family can't stand all the Japanese music I listen to. They are even bashing Ayu, saying she's ugly, has a ugly voice and so on. My brother even said " She looks like a *****! She has to be Pamela Anderson and the Playboy King's daughter". I punshed him in the face for that. o(-__-)o

Well.. I have actually only showed 2 friends Ayu's PV's, the one liked ayu at the moment (Now she's listening to An Cafe -.-), so ofcourse she really liked her. The other didn't like her (She saw the MW PV), but she love Ayu's old voice anyways
