Can you hit Ayu's high notes?

Topic title says it all

I personally THINK I can hit it, I can hit the Whistle Note sung in Introduction For Kingdom (surprisingly XD) and I can sing the chorus of walking proud with the notes she sings.

emi♡ 11th January 2009 07:22 PM

in falsetto :laugh

walking proud is awesome to sing. Thats my song.

jimex289 11th January 2009 07:54 PM

I could try...I'd probably look like an idiot doing it though.

Melrose 11th January 2009 08:01 PM

Introduction For Kingdom is Kumi. o-o

jimex289 11th January 2009 08:02 PM

Lolol I was about to say.

ownsarai 11th January 2009 08:08 PM

Nope. I can't hit high notes. Maybe in the shower, everyone sounds better when they sing in the shower! XD

hoshiBlack 11th January 2009 08:32 PM

Now this made me want to record walking proud.
It's too bad that there's no instrumental though.
But as for the topic... I don't think it's that hard to hit those high notes, for me at least.
Though I noticed that in the last few years I can't reach the same notes I used to.
Oh... practice awaits x_x

pommy48 11th January 2009 09:27 PM

hmm i have hit the notes right for endless sorrow ''original mix'' :D
but what are her really high songs? i forgot @_@

shyguygurl 11th January 2009 09:37 PM

i can if i really try :) memorial address is the hardest for me because of her vibrato, it's amazing.

hoshiBlack 11th January 2009 09:50 PM

^
Oh, Endless Sorrow's great! n.n
Hmm, from what I can pick off of the top of my head.. would be:
A Song for XX, End of the World, walking proud, still alone... ugh, I'm stuck on others XD
but basically.. her older songs? o.o

jbrat2219 11th January 2009 09:53 PM

Most songs with high notes I can sing okay (granted I can't sing for beans!) but I have an easier time hitting her high notes than Kyo's oO.... And he's a guy, it's ridiculous lol.

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 12th January 2009 01:06 AM

I can hit the whistle note but it's weak.

Yep, I've trained myself and I still keep training to reach high notes. Really helps since I have choir. I just love doing vocal manipulations in general.

@Pommy: ASFXX, End of the World, Trust, poker face, still alone, A Song is born, End roll, monochrome

Chibi_Venus 12th January 2009 01:07 AM

I don't usually have a problem hitting them. :)

Pommy, to answer your question, I can't think of the highest note she's ever hit, but she's hit high F's multiple times. What note is a high F? Think of the end of the chorus for "Duty:" shiritaku nakatta n da

pommy48 12th January 2009 01:10 AM

oh i see, well then most people should be able to hit her high notes~ they're not that high~

SURREAL__RAINBOW 12th January 2009 01:19 AM

i can ^^

This is very true. :P It's not like she sings as high as, like, The Phantom of the Opera.

...okay, that doesn't really count. Andrew Lloyd Webber compared to Ayu? I'm sorry, there's no comparison. I should smack myself. :laugh

Maybe what I meant to say was not "The Phantom of the Opera," but "alan." :laugh

kirei_ayumi 12th January 2009 02:38 AM

heck yes! all ayu songs except for that freakin' Free and Easy...

Loo-chan 12th January 2009 03:08 AM

Actually... yes. It's not really that difficult. D:

NintendoHTF1242 12th January 2009 03:55 AM

I know Introduction For Kingdom is Kuu XD I know who sings what :B

sugarbasil 12th January 2009 05:29 AM

The people who've karaoke'd SURREAL with me can tell you: NO. :laugh

hightea_xx 12th January 2009 05:47 AM

what about M???? i love that song at karaoke, but my voice is DESTROYED after. i'd like to think i can hit the high notes for her... i love ayu's songs at karaoke because they seem to be similar to my range... : |

erika_ayu 12th January 2009 07:00 AM

lol YEAH i can, i have been singing her songs since i was 10 :D
i think thats why people said that my singing style is exactly like hers, im trying to learn how to sing low notes now because too much high notes hurt your vocal chords i heard XO

se7entheaven 12th January 2009 07:02 AM

Yup I can
I sing her song all the time

AyUta 12th January 2009 07:29 AM

It all depends for me really. Sometimes I can and sometimes I can't. I personally think her highest notes are her "i's". She tends to go really high with them and I just love them. Fly High is really hard to sing, for example.

xLitax 12th January 2009 07:36 AM

I think I can, although if I don't warm up my voice cracks. XD

*+Dark.Night.Angel.+* 12th January 2009 08:07 AM

Apparently I can hit most notes Ayumi does...
But I can't keep them for very long.

I like to sing Moments and I guess that song makes my voice change a lot on the chorus:
"Hana no you ni"~♪ piece is low and high at a time.

Yeah, you know, for me, the problem was that, because of the way her voice was when she was younger, the notes sounded A LOT higher to me than they really were. And I think that happens a lot.

Most of her songs actually are not THAT high.

mellody 12th January 2009 09:37 AM

My voice damaged, when i hear A Song for XX (the original from ASFXX album and first one or maybe old one), and try to sing along..

Aargh.. that 'hitorikiri' part..

And the second was 'onaji michi' still alone's..

But, the others seems ok..

freedreamer 12th January 2009 09:45 AM

i dunno..but for me i can. Maybe coz im singing an octave lower?..but im really just based on what I hear

AyumiBest 12th January 2009 10:51 AM

Most of the time I can. XD If I try to sing any higher I sound nasally. O.o

keikeiaznqueen 12th January 2009 12:19 PM

It depends on how "awake" my voice is. If it's the first thing I do in the morning then I can't hit the highest parts in "M". "M" is harder for me than "A Song for XX" because for ASFXX it's just one note that is especially high and then it goes down (e.g. HItori, KIride), but then for M, it's basically "DAKARA INOTTE IRU YO!!!!!" And that's hard...

Oh god, and Kanariya kills my voice because it stays consistently high and it repeats and repeats and repeats... it gradually kills your voice. XDD

Aisha_Angel 12th January 2009 01:03 PM

Sometimes...It depends on the song.

For example, LOVE ~destiny=cracked glass and a sore throat later...hahaha.

vampireknightzero 12th January 2009 01:04 PM

For M, the last chorus that part is really high, if i try to sing I will probably lose my voice the nxt day haha. Oh yah the ending of Trauma chorus is also very high, cannot hit using real voice... Fly High oso..

I agree wif ASFXX the "hitori kiride~~" is really difficult to reach too

All her earlier works like For My Dear and Trust are also high pitched songs which I have difficulty reaching~~

lovelism 12th January 2009 01:45 PM

i love singing ayu's Songs!
I love the high notes of M...

prussian blue 12th January 2009 02:00 PM

for the guys, i think you all should make the song higher about 5 key to equal with ayu's real key.

its damn easy for ordinary guy to sing a female's key (except MISIA or stephanie who already has some extra-ordinary voice). and if you still can sing it well after 4~5 keys, then you can say that "you can hit ayu's high note".

personally, i dont think ayu's song are that hard to sing (of course, after making it higher 4~5 keys), but her older stuff really high, and not all of them are sing-able for me

waterballoon 12th January 2009 04:10 PM

I always sing Ayu in falsetto... so yeah. High notes are okay... but the beat... or rather the pronunciation of the words are hard, especially in songs like SURREAL and Fly high.

panda87 13th January 2009 07:50 PM

most, but those songs where she goes INSANELY squeaky high (like at the end of M, Connected, Duty, Dearest, To Be..., Never Ever, etc.), i just can't...

Lee_410 13th January 2009 08:00 PM

It's hard.BUT I NAIL HER RECENT SONGS OMG.We have similar singing voices~

tinka69 14th January 2009 12:11 AM

oh god no. i have a deep voice and its impossible for me to sing properly at all.

hikaricore 14th January 2009 12:41 AM

I can, my range is pretty big.
For Tenor males like me, it just takes a big breath and a good diaphram push!!!

But her songs are insanely hard to sing due to the vibrato. She's a musical master in my opinion.

ReiXi 14th January 2009 12:57 AM

After I sang ASFXX, I couldn't even talk.LOL :P

Purple Neko 14th January 2009 05:38 AM

I can't sing for the life of me... and I'm not going to try lol.

Don't wanna hurt anybody's ears :x

mcluva420 14th January 2009 06:54 AM

umm..i dont think ayu can really sing in the whistle register.. and i dont rlly have that much trouble with the high notes ^.^ since theyre not rlly high compared 2 some particular singers

Lanz16 14th January 2009 12:00 PM

No, my voice is deeper and I can't sing the higher notes. :|
For instance, in LOVE ~Destiny~ (10th anniversary version), the "Shinjitsu to genjitsu to..." end part makes my voice weird so much! X[
