Do you care about the quality of your music?

search isn't working for me so sorry if this was posted..

will you only download something in the highest quality, or are you fine with 128kbps and lower bitrates?

LacusClyne 12th February 2009 01:29 PM

poor quality kills my ear! i must have at least 320kbps mp3/192kbps AAC format.

SURREAL__RAINBOW 12th February 2009 01:36 PM

woow
so theres a difference then lol
im not a fan of downloading really, i like to get the original CDs etc

but when i have to download, i try to get the best ^^
so im going with the HQ option :D

alternarist 12th February 2009 01:41 PM

in between. no major sound problems will do.

vampireknightzero 12th February 2009 01:52 PM

Usually I would download 128kbps..the size is not too huge yet the quality is good. For rare songs, I wouldn't mind lower bitrates

aqua_crystal 12th February 2009 02:10 PM

I don't care!!! Really. I don't mind 128kbps songs... sometimes I don't notice the difference!

KarenPang 12th February 2009 02:13 PM

good question & for me I don't really care . HQ's nice & all but I always tend to convert my files all the way to 48kpbs to maximise file space in my mp3player

Meat Pao 12th February 2009 02:26 PM

Honestly I don't really care what bitrate my music is, because eventually I'll be getting my hands on the CD and listening to it on my stereo instead, haha. But other than that I only have built-in speakers on my monitor so anything I listen to is more or less the same. I only listen to my songs on my computer when I feel like listening to random songs while surfing the net.

As for putting my songs into my handphone I always convert them to 128kbps as the size is smaller :P

rookies 12th February 2009 02:30 PM

I do care about the quality, and always try to get a 320kbps mp3 version of songs, and if there isn't one available, then 192 or lower.

Qt Mashi 12th February 2009 02:47 PM

i love quality but 320kbps is good enough for me, i also love HQ videos, can't stand watching square blocks!

Beauty4123 12th February 2009 03:30 PM

honestly, not really. but if it's like seriously LQ music, i can't hear it, lol. but anything like 128 or 192kbps is fine with me, i'm not too picky.

waterballoon 12th February 2009 04:28 PM

I don't mind for music too... 192/320 is okay for me.

BUT for videos... they must be as HQ as possible! I HATE watching LQ videos, especially if I want to take some screen shots or something....

HanabiChick 12th February 2009 05:41 PM

When I'm ripping songs from my CDs to listen to in the computer I'll rip them at 160 or 192, depending on how much I'm ripping from one album, to save space. When I want to download something I just download the same quality or slightly higher. I'll take whatever I can get until I get the CD for myself and rip the songs. I suppose I'm in between.

lfe. 12th February 2009 06:02 PM

Depends on the genre and how much I like the artist. All my Ayu albums and my american rock songs are in 320 kbps bitrate. Everything else I'm okay as long as it is atleast 128 kbps bitrate.

Kingdom 12th February 2009 06:16 PM

i refuse to dl anything below 192.. and even then sometimes they aren't ripped properly.

waterballoon 12th February 2009 06:17 PM

You mean like Fall Out Boy? Folie a Deux is AWESOME... I never knew they were that good! :love

Chiharo 12th February 2009 06:28 PM

everything has to be 320 kbps mp3,or 192 kbps AAC,and most importantly, ripped from the original CD.

lfe. 12th February 2009 06:37 PM

No I mean like Metallica, Fallout Boy is only 128 kbps worthy :mischief

Aww! :(

lfe. 12th February 2009 06:54 PM

I'm kidding, Fallout Boy is 320 kbps worthy too <3 :P

Aderianu 12th February 2009 07:01 PM

I prefer HQ music

ohsixthirty 12th February 2009 08:16 PM

128 kbs is fine for me. i can't tell the difference between it and 320kbs.

although, below 128kbs and i get annoyed. :(

kirei_ayumi 12th February 2009 08:32 PM

I don't care as long as it is not inaudible...

emi♡ 12th February 2009 08:55 PM

I don't like anything below 192kbps because that's when I hear the difference.

192-320 though, can't tell.

I would rather have 320....just cause...I'm an elitist music ***** I guess lol

milky_way 12th February 2009 08:55 PM

As long as it's at least 128kps, I'm fine.

pommy48 13th February 2009 12:26 AM

ugg i hate 128, but i hate 320...you know how hard it is to fit songs into a 4 GB ipod if all of your songs were 320...it's impossible, and i hate how people always upload a 320 rip of an album, cause if i convert it, it sounds all weird >_<

Kazeyomi 13th February 2009 12:39 AM

I don't care at all.
I know HQ is better than LQ but I can listen both types.

RyRyMini 13th February 2009 12:49 AM

In between. I do like to have 320 kbs, but for some music it's just too hard to find so I'll settle with whatever is available, unless it sounds horrible.

stardusties 13th February 2009 01:56 AM

I started off being fine with 128 / 96 kbs....but over the years I was introduced to 192, and then later 320.

Music just doesn't sound appealing anymore under 192 kbs, I hate when my playlist song goes from 320kbs, and the next song is in 128, it sounds horrible! For older songs however, i don't care what qual it is...as long as i have it :]

agree ^

NintendoHTF1242 13th February 2009 03:08 AM

I only have music that I ripped from CD's I own, since HQ stuff is a lot better than downloads. So I have no downloaded songs in my iTunes, but I still have over 1400+ songs =P

I only download for leaks and stuff like that XD

Calico 13th February 2009 04:28 AM

I like the happy medium of 192...quality isn't too bad but it doesn't take up a huge amount of space either.

Melon Panda 13th February 2009 06:39 AM

I'm picky. Most of the albums on my iPod are 320 kbps, with the exception of a select of a few albums here and there (mostly ones I like so much that I'll put them on even if they're of a lower quality). Random songs also get to be less than 320 kbps, but that's it.

HybridTheory 14th February 2009 12:39 AM

I care. A lot. My iPhone paired with my Sony headphones really demonstrates the difference between 128 and 320...128 or around that sounds really bad, I will usually skip the track if a 128 song comes up. 192 is OK, and anything above this is fine by me (though ideally if I have a 320 option, I will always go for that regardless of space on my laptop.

kenniFlyHigh 14th February 2009 12:50 AM

i prefer 320kbps, but not too much higher because it could get buzzy
192 is okay when 320 is unavailable
if 128, then i just buy it for better quality

brand new love 14th February 2009 07:07 AM

i only download 192 and above. if whatever i'm downloading is rare then i'll settle for 128 if it sounds okay, but i won't go any lower and i can go without the music if it sounds like crap.

paper_doll 14th February 2009 07:14 AM

Either 192 or 320. Unless, as honeycute said, it's something hard to come across, then I can settle for lower.

Twinkle ! 14th February 2009 09:47 AM

Alwyas 320 :)

jiarongisme 14th February 2009 09:52 AM

I'm in between actually. :)

spookshow 14th February 2009 09:52 AM

i voted 'anything in between' -- i can't stand anything below 128 -- i prefer 192+

micster 14th February 2009 09:55 AM

I NEED HQ stuff. Anything else and its just blerg.

extepan 14th February 2009 10:23 AM

HQ for sure

Yum!Fruit_Salad! 15th February 2009 09:35 AM

I'm in between. When it comes to rare music or something, having a 128kbps doesn't bother me but if it's a newly released album or single and by somebody well know, then yes it does.

waterballoon 15th February 2009 04:48 PM

oh lol that's good to know! :luv2

bulmasman 16th February 2009 01:24 AM

I find 320kbs isn't worth the HDD space when personally i can't tell a huge difference compared to 192kbs. I find 192 to be the best all round bitrate. Quality is good, file size is good, what's not to love?

I'm willing to download in 128 aswell for something old/rare, but anything above that is a bonus ^^

Chandrachan 16th February 2009 01:36 AM

I love HQ music the best

Kodayumi 17th February 2009 07:43 AM

Im in between. 128kps is oerfectly fine for me.

AyUta 17th February 2009 09:53 AM

It HAS to be HQ 320 :yes

lovelism 19th February 2009 01:43 PM

My favorite songs will be 320 Kbps CD ripped. Other then that, all will be 128 Kbps

ayuzlove 19th February 2009 01:50 PM

i guess i'm between :D

TeeMo 20th February 2009 07:31 AM

I'm in between. I really enjoy the musics in 128kbps or 320kbps.

elepop 20th February 2009 07:46 PM

I used to download 128 kbps songs only because my iPod only had 4G, which meant that I couldn't put many songs. Now that I switched to 80G, I prefer 320 kbps quality. I don't really mind 192 kbps though. Most Korean songs are 192 kbps and the quality is fine to my ears. But of course, if there's a 320 kbps version, I would download that one.

rusuke 21st February 2009 01:20 PM

Of Course! I'm so meticulous with the quality of the music especially downloading my favorite songs. That's why I prefer to buy authentic CDs to ensure the quality of the sound. Poor quality music makes me sad...

But my ipod is only 2GB(poor me) so majority of my songs are in 128kbps but the sound is fine to me. But there are songs that it's really hard to find and only 056kbps is the only available so I have no choice but to sacrifice my ears..hehehe

PinkShinigami 24th June 2009 05:37 PM

I do actually not think about it, but it can really be bad. I think I'm just a middle thing

chloeM 24th June 2009 06:28 PM

sure i do... especially those who rip the radio version~... it ticks me~

zyoeru 24th June 2009 06:50 PM

I can't hear any difference.

nemesisyume 24th June 2009 07:07 PM

of course some super HQ is totally awesome but as long as the songs sounds ok/good it doesn't really matter how many kbps ...

Yoake 24th June 2009 08:52 PM

It's really important for me.

fantasma3c 24th June 2009 09:00 PM

Only HQ for me, I get mad if its LQ
:D

kendelle 25th June 2009 02:25 AM

I prefer smaller files, like 192 kbps so I can store more on the space!

I can't tell the difference between 192 and 320 - it's barely noticeable for me unless I am listening on really good speakers, which I don't have! :P

JackieRos 25th June 2009 03:26 PM

there is no difference to me

320kbps my butt

C+R+E+AYUMI 25th June 2009 05:32 PM

no difference unless it is hearable

ayuayu798 25th June 2009 05:32 PM

I don't really like low quality music, but if it's the only thing that's there I'll take it.

evolution7931 25th June 2009 06:41 PM

HELL YES I CARE.. the better the quality the happier I am!!

AyuRox 26th June 2009 12:45 AM

I voted for I don't care, but I don't really download except from iTunes. I'm really against illegally downloading copyrighted material, so most of my music is from CDs or iTunes. I've dl'ed 2 singles from AHS, which I intend to get legal copies, and I have a few (like, 4 or 5) LimeWire files still floating around in my iTunes (I got rid of LW 2 years ago). Because, lets be honest, I wanna get legal copies of the LW songs, but I don't wanna spend the money on them. :P

But of what I've dl'ed (and what I'll probably dl in the future) I don't really care about the quality. Then again, I haven't dl'ed anough to actually get to know the difference between bitrates, but whatever. :shrug

HTMSD 27th June 2009 05:32 AM

For first time, i'll download illegal mp3 files which i'm not really care about the quality, but if i LIKE the songs, i'll buy the CD xD

Lady~Deviance 27th June 2009 05:33 AM

I prefer HQ but hey, beggars can't be choosers.

Lady_Eowyn 27th June 2009 08:09 AM

Me loves Metallica :luv2 :luv2 :luv2

They totally deserve high quality tracks :D

Anyway, i'm very picky with music from my favourite artists and songs. I strongly dislike low quality songs, but sometimes i gotta deal with it (the ambient mix of ferry corsten made for connected is sooooo messed up)however, i don't mind LQ songs from certain "filler" songs . I've got the 120 gb ipod and i'm having trouble to fill it since i only have 615 songs. :laugh

NintendoHTF1242 27th June 2009 04:53 PM

^ I wish I had that size of an iPod! All my music in Lossless equals to at least 40GB. And I want ALL of it in my iPod XD but the iPod I have is only 16GB lol.

nemesisyume 27th June 2009 09:20 PM

^I'm glad that there is 120GB space on my ipod :D

Aditmi Krisnasaki ~II~ 6th July 2009 06:23 PM

must be 320 kbps!!!

visionfactory 6th July 2009 09:49 PM

I really like the music I listen to so it has to be in lossless format

fuawas 7th July 2009 12:54 AM

mine must be AAC 256kbps or at least MP3 320kbps

murasakinohana 7th July 2009 03:52 AM

well, i don't really care actually. 128-192kbps is good enough 4 me. :yes

orchidcolors 11th July 2009 04:22 PM

I always get the highest quality possible. I'm really picky like that. I don't freak out if the HQ isn't there, though.

ayumi.hamasaki 19th July 2009 09:13 PM

HQ 320kbps+ for me!

noidea 19th July 2009 09:17 PM

I care very much about the quality, I just downloaded some crappy video encode with 96 kbit/s sound somebody of this forum made and I am not able to watch more than one song because it seriously hurts my ears, its so annyoing when people upload things here and put all the bitrate in the video, such a waste of time

Mine only has 8 Gigabytes *drop* I always have to choose from my files...

ayu1m 29th July 2009 03:23 AM

Yes deeply. I don't like people who say the quality doesn't matter, it's okay even if the audio sucks and basically hurts your ears, "it could be worse".

Ayumi_Hamasaki902 29th July 2009 03:37 AM

Yeah I do, I notice when it's pretty low quality then I'll sometimes stop listening to it until I can find it in something better.

asmAyumi1992 9th August 2009 07:43 AM

I don't care as long as I can hear clearly the songs.

Sakura.x 9th August 2009 12:16 PM

high quality!~

daybreak123 9th August 2009 12:19 PM

I don't really care about the quality. If I can hear the song clearly, everything is fine for me. :yes

keepsgettinbetter 22nd August 2009 03:03 PM

"HQ 320kbps+ for me!" but I can deal with 256/192, whatever, I convert everything to 128AAC anyway.

nanakopy87 14th October 2009 02:59 PM

HQ 320kbps+ for me!
but 256 is ok for me also...
but the problem is,some of the rippers rip it at 64kbps and someone downloaded it but this downloader convert it back to 320kbps and uploaded it online...this is the most headache part

mellody 14th October 2009 05:40 PM

No one loves VBR ??
VBR Qualities with 192 kbps low with 320kbps high compression will have the best quality sounds, doesn't have any difference with standard CBR 320kbps, and 1 more thing, the size won't be that large! :D

It's a must for all your audio files, i recommend~

jeffycue 16th October 2009 04:37 AM

i love HQ music but i always convert 320 kbps to 192 kbps.. they dont differ to me at all.
but when i sync my music to my pod, i reconvert them to 128 kbps to save space... and again, they dont differ to me at all.

mobius 16th October 2009 04:52 AM

dosen't matter. as long as the song sounds clear.

yukicchi 16th October 2009 09:47 PM

HQ if possible. I'm okay with middle ones too.

DA1SUK1DAY01691 17th October 2009 01:57 AM

I prefer 320 because sometimes there's small nuances you can't notice if you're listening to a 128 version. I remember Dearest, I couldn't hear the harp in the beginning until I actually got the CD.

Plus, I'm a very aural person, I just like to listen and analyze things. I'm one that would try to breakdown every track I listen to, and try to find all the separate elements that make it up. 128 wouldn't help me at all.

honey-flash 26th October 2009 05:05 AM

As long as it's not unlistenable, I don't really care about the bitrate.

XFER 26th October 2009 06:04 AM

After some experiences with 320k that sound worse than 128k I found out that I don't need to fool my ear, I take anything as long as it sounds good. My old computer could only rip songs from cds at 56k and I thought the quality of sound was excellent. Of course, some will not believe it cause they feel better thinking they have the maximum quality with 320, but to each its own I guess.

Crystal_Ageha 27th October 2009 04:55 AM

I prefer high quality. Anything under 128 hurts my wittle ears. :cry I don't mind if I get a 192 (or 128), though, especially if it's not one of my favourite songs. I hate that FLAC crap, though. :mad

Picaflor 7/4 27th October 2009 05:04 AM

in a general sense, yes. I don't want something that sounds like it came from a camcorder or a cellphone held up to a tv. but in a more defining matter no. I don't care if it's 128, 192, or 320, or even 1411. XD

MiiSan 7th November 2009 03:58 PM

Some time ago I didn't really cared as long as it dosen't have some fuzzles or something like that in it, so I used to rip songs from youtube all the time (when youtube didn't have the HQ/HD option) so I was just happy with what I had (still enjoy them though)

Now I'm obsessed with the quality of the songs :laugh I want to get the highest quality possible ^^;

CHE.R.RY 5th February 2012 04:01 AM

Uhhh I hate to say it, but yeah I really do lol. I usually like it to be at least 320kbps, and sometimes I will settle for 192kbps when I really have no choice. I just can't stand listening to music that sounds muffled & crappy...I love that clear, crisp sound high quality music has.

femtrooper 5th February 2012 05:24 AM

To some extent...but as long as it sounds clear and not ripped from some streaming site, then I'm happy!

Kana×Shin 5th February 2012 05:26 AM

HQ 320kbps+ for me!

YUKARI 5th February 2012 05:34 AM

HQ 320kbps+ for me!

yes, I care.

YuriChan 5th February 2012 08:29 AM

HQ 320kbps+ for me! I will settle for 192, but nothing less than that! :P

Kacku 5th February 2012 01:26 PM

I want everything in HQ. I can take some (hard to obtain) stuff under 320 or even 192, but 128 is unforgivable.

Chibi-Chan 5th February 2012 06:42 PM

HQ 320kbps+ for me!
