I don't get why everyone is so hyped about the USB. I think it's a particularly stupid idea. I mean, if you want an album digitally, why would you spend 70 bucks on a flashdrive when you can go to one of the online stores and buy the whole album for like, 10 bucks

Well I think it's because it's so rare and it's a collectible so fans are liking the idea :P

yeah and my stereo set also supports USB input so I can listen to it like it's a regular CD :) and I know more people can.

(I mean quality wise, since my stereo set is way better quality than my tiny PC speakers)

but the main reason is definitely the collector value, yeah.

Awesome! I am not so much into technology but it seems that USBs are becoming more and more popular. Curiously enough a Honda model is going to support USB music too :P

one) I'd buy the CD when it come out on OS version P:

two) it looks frikkin awesome. ....also..the content on it in cd-dvd form would prolly cost me 50-60$ anyways. why not chip in the extra 15$ for an awesome looking mem stick?

just pre ordered the 2 cd + dvd version of the cd but I also want the usb, they better stock more :(

Becoz it is Collectibles and it is RARE, hard to get item. Makes it so d*mn tempting

1) because its a super cute design, with the heart, wing and the A symbol.

2) because there is like 1.3 gigabytes of space to use it as you wish.

3) because you can use it as a pendant

4) and because it's a collectible :yes

But somehow, i think you are right. THe 2cds+dvd have more content than the usb... glad i already preodered that version :)

It's a good idea for a collectable, but that's about it. I don't think it's going to send sales through the roof but it will create some hype that she needs.

And now JPOPHelp emails me telling me if I still want it I have to buy it at US$236 inclusive of shipping now rather than US$131 when I preordered it 2 days ago ._. And they refunded back my money. ARGH. Talking about the USB by the way

P/S. they also mentioned in the e-mail that there were only 7000 copies of the USB made @_@

When news broke out over NEXT LEVEL , I already know which edition to get when OS presses are out in due time which's CD + DVD

it's more cheaper rather than getting a thumbdrive . If I don't have it , I probably will be kicking a fuss but I already have 3 thumbdrives (1 8GB & 2 256MBs) so no

I can't be bothered to wait for Warner to do their thing . I just will get the CD + DVD in due time when it's released in Taiwan as I find the 2nd CD a bit reductant

TRICK has been out about a month+ & up to now , still no word on a local press of it :dead2 & I got the HK press of it yesterday

I more or less have given up on Warner on this aspect

there was 2 for $99US this morning, they selling 2 at a time from the look of things and just raised it and probably continue to rise.

not sure how many they got left.

u can get usb by buyinbg it and since all online shops have it sold out try ebay or bui in japan on the day of its release xD

i've recently found out that Koda Kumi is releasing 2 albums on the same date as NEXT LEVEL (25 march). One is a remix album, and the other one is a best album with her collaborations.

I know Ayu shouldn't feel threatened by a remix album, but do you think Koda's best album can represent a thread for Ayu getting no.1 ??? we all know japanese love best albums, and koda's first 2 best albums have sold pretty good...

^But you have to remember her third best album, BOUNCE & LOVERS only got #2 I think. I think Ayu stands a good chance of getting #1 for the week.

The USB is soooo pretty.

plus, Kuu's best album is a collaborations best.

And I don't think that any avex artist really represents a threat, as, they're all on the same label. So avex can manipulate it's shipping to get whoever they want in #1 in #1, I'm sure

People on 2ch are claiming that there will be a 'raw piano' song on NEXT LEVEL! Supposedly it was written in a TA message. Let's wait and see if this true..

^on the release date, yes. but since it was released on January 1, the Oricon calendar counts the first two weeks of the year as one week, so GUILTY had to keep up its position for two weeks instead of one.

the 1st week yes but because Oricon combined the 1st & 2nd week sales into 1 , she lost the top spot to Kobukuro's 5296 in the 2nd week

According to CDJ they only had 24 USBs to start with - no wonder the sold out so quickly!

Unfortunately they won't be getting anymore 100% :(

OMG CDjapan only got 24!? so someone said that USB are only 7000 copies was true. HMV got 5000 copies and other 2000 were sent to shops in Japan

As for GUILTY breaking her album #1 streak, on one side I was happy that it might give Ayu opportunity to experiment more. But on the other side, it feels to me like they don't care about the streak anymore and thus just release a 13-track album. >,> She kinda deserved #2 with GUILTY, tho, IMO. Only 5 new tracks, out of which three have an incredibly monotonous sound? Meh.

I think as far as experimenting goes, NEXT LEVEL is shaping up to be her most experimental yet. There is at least one song in each of her singles that lead up to it that is something new she tried or a better more profound version of something she's done in the past [i.e. oriental = GREEN, techno = Sparkle etc.]. So I'm sure after GUILTY's #2, she's able to express what she wants a lot more freely :yes

Even if they do, it's going to be off the wall expensive :no

Yea, that's true. ^^ Do you think that her losing her #1 streak is the reason for that though? Because it's definitely different, but other than Sparkle it's not TOO experimental. And she still needs to keep her single streak alive, so she might have more experimental tracks on the album instead of the singles. ^^

I do think so, among other things. Ayu said she didn't have the inspiration to write GUILTY (I believe...?), which understandable because it was such a depressing time for her, but now that she's back in the swing of things she probably got some of her creative flow back, thus NEXT LEVEL. And I sure hope the album tracks are much more experimental!!! Her singles at the very least are really good, her album tracks are sure to be as well.

^ I hope the one in San Francisco sells the USB too..

why would releasing a Taiwan version violate copyright laws? it seems like they would lose sales because the Japan version is less accessible to overseas markets.

mu-mo is taking preorders now, but do they ship overseas? doesnt look like it

I think if they let Taiwan produce it, they will only receive a lump sum for selling the rights. Don't think they get any royalty from it unless it's a contractual term, so it's not really a big loss. And I can see why they want to limit this, sort of like concert goods. Is mu-mo the only online retailer stocking it now? I want it too but the exchange rate MUST come down :headache It's already expensive enough as it is!

I just read the TA Messages translations on ayuangel.com. Ayu kept mentioning a Nobita-kun in her previous messages and it turns out that this guy is actually Yuta Nakano. Now I'm even more looking forward to the new album, since I like his stuff a lot :yes

Hey, I just thought of something. GREEN & Days are both 'live' on the CD and on the album, but Mirrorcle World isn't on the live CD. A hint at it not being included with the album? And now that Yuta is revealed to have done new songs, MW might not be needed anymore or there are too many Yuta tracks?

Though I really don't see her coming with three new PVs.

That's an interesting thought. Maybe Mirrorcle World wouldn't be on it after all. I mean, for me, it's only okay if it's a hidden/bonus track or something... just not on the main 13 songs... But you're right if Yuta Nakano has already made several songs/arrangements on NEXT LEVEL, then it would be soooo filled with his works if Mirrorcle World was in it.

Oh thank you! But the problem is the USB itself costs S$120 or so and omg I need the money for some other more important things... I was thinking/hoping that an OS USB would be somewhat cheaper (I mean Japan versions of Ayu albums are like triple the price of the OS versions...)...
