Did Ayu go into a plastic surgery during her stay in Hawaii??
 

Hi!!! I was watching the new pv´s and I have noticed something different in her face... Did you notice that her nose is a little bit different? You can check it at the end of NEXT LEVEL and in SPARKLE pv when she is singing wearing the yellow dress... For me she has gone into a nose surgery during her stay in Hawaii...

What do you think???

Yeah, I noticed it, too. Her nose is COMPLETELY different. That would explain why her photoshoots have had that weird nose, too. Personally, I'm not a fan of it. I think it looks really bad on her. But yeah, other than surgery, I can't think of how else she could have gotten that. :shrug

um...doesn't it take weeks/months to heal from surgery? I mean, she still has her finger bandaged from when she hurt her hand in December. I think your just seeing something I am not. Ayu looks the same to me.

I can't tell in the Sparkle PV since it's so low quality but here's a snapshot of the NEXT LEVEL scene. Her nose looks bigger though to me. It might be the quality. Or that god awful haircut. Lol.

I think it's just the new makeup patterns..

And yeah.. it takes many months before she could be seen in public with a nose job.
She would still have bruises and stuff all over her nose area.

^yeah, i believe make up can make HUGE differences in the way someones face looks...O_O..but ofcourse, most people here would know that if they use make-up

She looks exactly the same to me.
Plus, it takes months to heal from surgery and it would've been pretty obvious if she had gotten a nose job since she was pretty much in the public eye for most of the time while she was filming the 3 new PVs.
Not to mention Ayu is probably a slow healer, since her hand/finger is still bandaged from her accident a couple months ago.

What you're seeing is probably just a different make-up style.

i don't see anything.. it's probably just the make-up/editing.. but i believe she did have plastic surgery on her entire face long ago

i also saw the difference in Sparkle PV..specially the yellow dress one~
but i still hope that it's only the camera angle....
i've not yet seen the HQ PV for both Sparkle and NEXT LEVEL though so still not know if she really did nose surgery or not..

On NEXT LEVEL covers her nose is like it always was and they were shot after she was in Hawaii.
She didn't do any surgery on her face.

I hope anyone will get used to it that she is heavy and sometimes differently make-uped and photoshopped that it makes her look like she has an operation on while in fact she didn't. xD

Wearing like twenty pounds of make up and photoshop can make you look like a completely different person ._. Why do people insist that she's had plastic surgery, when her behind the scenes makeupless pictures look like an aged version of predebut Ayu?

Really, without make-up she just looks older than before her avex debut. Ayumi just wears ALOT of make-up and her advertisement pics are photoshopped to hell (as with most artists).

I believe, unless officially revealed by ayu herself, she hasn't had surgery.

i thought her nose looked a bit different too but i don't think she did any surgery, it looks smaller probably because her face has gone a bit chubbier.

I will say that her face does look slightly different, but I can't put my finger on what. It could be makeup or aging though.

Just for arguments sake though - say she did it in Hawaii after the TA photos had been shot. As far as I remember, we didn't really see her for a month or so after that. That is still a fast healing time though. Although I don't know what the healing time these days is. Some procedures these days are much less invasive than they were in the past.

If anything, I'd be speculating more about her chest. If she didn't do anything to it, then I want her bra now! lol

QT Mashi is right too: Her face has gotten wider over the last year somehow. Even my Mother pointed out the difference when we went to AT08.

In all her blog pictures, she looks exactly like the ayu from back in 2000....its just an evolution in makeup I think....I do think she got work done to her face maybe before Poker Face....but I dont think its like plastic surgery....more like something that made her teeth look better

I'm pretty sure it's because of the way they did her make up. Especially in Next Level, it's really different than most stuff we're used to, and I believe that's what makes her look different. It's mostly in the eyeliner and probably...yeah the terrible haircut.

I don't think she had plastic surgery on her nose...and if she did, she wasted a bunch of munny, because it looks the same.

She doesn't have any reason to have it...so...believe what you want I guess.

Oh she for sure got her teeth done. That's not even a question. Actually she had her "bad" teeth through most of Loveappears. I don't really count the teeth though when talking about plastic surgery.

It's how she is contouring her nose with make-up. To me, a make-up fanatic, I can totally tell when she is and isn't in those pictures posted. Like, I can pretty much see the make-up. Photoshop helps, too.

Ayu's nose looks the same to me. Some of her recent pics look different coz of her lips and eyebrows. I don't like when she tries to make her lips bigger with the use of lip pencil (see latest Vivi cover) and her eyebrows are too thin...whenever she does the ugly fish lips expression, her eyebrows goes weird.

I do believe she's had her teeth done but I'm not so sure about plastic surgery.

Even in her recent pics she still has the bags under her eyes she's always had, I think makeup and hairstyle play a big part in changing her face.

If she had plastic surgery she'd have massive bruises that can't be covered in make-up. It would probably be very painful to talk and sing even if she could use makeup to cover the bruises.

You'd be surprised how much hairstyles can change a person's appearance (not just the hair though lol). I'm yet to see the full PV admittedly but I would doubt it's more than makeup and the lighter than usual colour of her hair playing tricks on us :)

So her eyes look even bigger, which throws off the already known proportions of her face~

her nose doesn't look that different to me. miracles can come out of make-up if you have the right people working with you, and yeah, her nose would not heal in such a short time. she would probably still have a bandage on, which you can't just take off whenever you feel like it.

Ohhh yes, circle lenses. They make her eyes look huuuuge. As for her nose and the appearance of how wide/narrow her face is, I'm sure she uses many different shades of foundation, and that can change the appearance of shadows to make facial features look differently-shaped.

I used to think Ayu had surgery (besides teeth), but honestly, if she did it was probably very slight eye surgery, if anything. Probably not even that though, since she looks the same w/o makeup as she did when she was younger.

Urm...usually in shooting PV many artist will have TONS of make up on...Her nose seems same to me..She had a perfect nose..why would she wanna do surgery

I'm sorry if this comes off rude, but I'm getting annoyed at plastic surgery comments. People need to use their heads before posting about it. Just my take. :shrug

Any form of plastic surgery takes weeks and in this case MONTHS to heal. We've never seen Ayu's nose bandaged up or anything this past year. It's probably just make up, you can contour different parts of your face and make them appear thinner and different than what they are. :/

^I think that is a little rude. People with no exposure to plastic surgery may not be aware of these information. I only know about the long healing time because of extreme makeover. In any case, her nose does look weird in some of the photos but i think that's just angling and lighting issues.

Curiosity is a good thing lol. I guess since this issue has been bought up so many times it's starting to become a jading experience of sorts. Her face does not look any different to me (without taking into account the teeth since 2005-2006ish, which I think is obvious); take it from someone's whose been watching all her TV appearances and most recent concert DVDs. All I can think of is the difference being attributed to lighting/make-up/angle.

Call me ignorant but the Ayu I know wouldn't get plastic or some major cosmetic procedure done on her face. I can confidently say this based on the way she's viewed certain things, her overall outlook, etc.. Also, ask yourself: why would she get one now when she could have had it done years back?

I'm not sure why anyone would think that is her mother. It appears to just be a random woman in the audience. The woman pictured there isn't even in the vip section.

btw, I finally figured out where Ayu's Mom's shop is and it turns out that I've actually passed it several times, but since I wasn't specifically looking for the shop, I didn't notice it. I'll be sure to go on my next Japan trip so the question of what Ayu's Mom looks like can finally be solved.

Actually it seems she had her teeth done cosmetically twice. Check out the super old performances, especially the performances of Love~Destiny - her teeth were completely different then. Soon after, her mouth was totally overhauled and then it seems it changed again (though not as drastically) in 05/06.

I think it's common sense, but that's just me. I really didn't mean to come off rude...

i think she is using the shadowing makeup effect on her nose bridge to make it look sharper but then it backfired,lol. basically wad I suspect she did was to apply darker tone around the edge of her nose bridge and thats why the middle portion looks so bright.

Photoshop and makeup can make a huge difference. It literally takes weeks to heal from cosmetic surgeries, and we would've known if she had any work done.

We all know she's had work done on her teeth. Any other surgery she may have had is all a bunch of rumors unless Ayu tells us otherwise.

I agree. It kind of is common sense, any major surgical procedure takes a while to heal from... You don't just bounce back after a day or so.

Yeah. I don't even think you have to have BASIC knowledge of plastic surgery procedures to know that it takes a loooong time to heal from it. :shrug

I believe that she had surgery long ago but not in this case, different hair and makeup can change how your face looks, with I think it is in this case :P

There's like a rumor that almost every asian artist gets plastic surgery XD and sooner or later a lot of actors/singers resort to botox to stay young so its not that surprising... Ayu's been updating today's photos during her absent days in the states...she couldn't possibly get her nose done.

Well, comparing her early swim suit/bikini photos with pics done later as a singer, I do believe she has something done.
But I also believe she hasn't plastic surgery since the beginning of her singer career, just a lot of make up and photoshop.
Nevertheless I would be very happy if her beauty is indeed natural.^^
Even if it's kind of unfair then, to be so pretty. XD

It doesn't really matter if or if not, her music and her personality is the most important thing.

If she did, then damn she healed fast.
Even when she was staying in Hawaii, we still had the TA pics, and we have mag shoots from there as well, so..I think not.

Nobody can assume that she has or has not had plastic surgery before because she's never said it herself and we sure as hell are not her doctor nor do we have access to her medical records.

I will say though... Please explain how she was able to afford plastic surgery before stardom, and please explain how, if she did go under during her debut, she recovered so quickly? Plastic surgery takes at a minimum 6 weeks to heal depending on the procedure. Have we ever seen pictures of Ayu with bandages or bruises on her face from surgery?

My take, she hasn't had time to recover from plastic surgery from her debut until now. Before then I really doubt she even had the money to afford surgery and I doubt her mother would even let her at such a young age. :shrug

Faces change as people grow older. I have not seen a significant difference (something a surgery would do) from looking at her old swim suit modeling pictures and looking at her now without any makeup.

I believe that over time she's had some nips and tucks. She's been smart about it and doing subtle things rather than drastic changes (excluding her teeth).

From what I've read regarind nose jobs is that you wear the brace and bandage for a week and the thing that lasts the longest is the swelling. Bruising occurs but like most will fade away with ease. If she only had the tip of her nose done it wouldn't have been anything with the bone and I doubt bruising would be drastic if it were just the tip.

The fact of the matter is is that Ayumi Hamasaki is in the entertainment industry which is based on looks. Her main act IS her look. She's visual. I really don't think she would, or has, ruled out plastic surgery. I also don't think she looks at it like the devil a lot of people posting here do.

It seems very different....but i had nose surgery and i swear it take almost a month before you don't see no more scars and blood signs...my face was huge during that period...

Surgery on the nose can be done with a shot. No surgery needed. So it's possible, sure.

In the recent ViVi-photospread, I thought to myself---This isn't Ayu. This is somebody else. I seriously had to look hard to find SOMETHING that let me know it was Ayumi in those pictures and not a stand in. Even now, the only one's that look like Ayu to me are the ones when she's standing with the snow cone. Other than that, I completely didn't recognize her.

As far as her nose in the PV for NEXT LEVEL, Ayu looks very much like herself. I think the shorter-length of hair is what's drawing more attention to her nose than usual. If we could get a side picture of her from that PV though and compare it with a side shot of her nose in the PV for RAINBOW, we could tell a little better.

I suggest using RAINBOW because I remember watching the tissue-finger scene (you know, the one where she's wearing all white and the background's blue...)...Anyway, I remember when she turned to the side a little bit I said to myself that Ayu has a hook nose...It was weird to me at the time because I'd never known a Japanese person to have a hook nose like that. Meh...but that was a LONG time ago.

thats extremely expensive, it costs thousends of euros to do so because you have to edit every single frame and his still has to flow well, but for photoshoots, you only have to edit 4-12 pics, not over 5000 like a regular pv has(30 a second, 1800 a minute)

Just look her making of videos and you will see that she looks almost the same like she was back in poker face era. The same goes for Kumi. On KOSE promo she looks like complete different person, while on live events she looks like real Kuu. :P

Well she could've gotten a job to pay for plastic surgery... Its not that expensive. She could've gotten it done over a period of time before stardom. My mom's friend is getting plastic surgery and she's not rich. Its not THAT expensive.

She could've gotten sugery done and then signed up for the swim suit model. That is also a possibility.

She did leave home and went to tokyo at an early age so her mom can't control her if she lived on her own and who knows, maybe her mom did let her at an early age :S

I personally don't know for sure if she did plastic surgery, but i think she did. I'm not saying its because she's ugly, but maybe she wanted bigger eyes, or a nicer nose. Just to finish little touches to look perfect.

hmm. I was just looking at the pictures of her in dance rehearsal - the TA ones on the news page. Even there her breasts look very pushed up and pushed together....yet its a dance rehearsal. If it is a bra, why bother with such a constricting one for dance practice? In fact it doesn't even look like she is wearing anything other than a black dance top. All of her recent pictures show more cleavage than she really ever did before. They have never looked that voluminous in the past. The only one where her breasts look their normal size is the Rule cover, but even then, she is wearing latex which will flatten you (I've worn it before, haha) and she is arching her back with her head thrown back as well - that will flatten anyone. And then add the fact that it seems she lost quite a bit of weight from December on, but none of it came from her chest and usually for a lot of women, that is the first place it comes off from. (unfortunately...^_^) In many of the recent TA photos I think her chest looks bigger than it was before. Not hugely bigger, but still bigger all the same. So she has either decided to wear big push up bras all day everyday now or it is the alternative.

I hope it really is just bras, because there was nothing wrong with her to begin with. And if it is just bras, I wish she didn't feel the need to try and flaunt her chest so much these days. I was watching a bunch of her old performance videos today and really she didn't show her chest much, if at all. But all of a sudden from last year on, its become chest central. :)

Unless she comes out looking completely freakish sometime though, we may not ever know for sure if/what she has had done.

Are we really going to start this plastic surgery ******** again? I though Ayu sqwashed the rumors about her eyes when she started not wearing makeup in alot of her extras? Anyways your going off a freaking PV where touchups happen all the time, And surgery can take months to heal... Besides her nose looks the same to me anyway. It's mostly just the children here trying to up there post count, and start drama is all.

Here is a statement on how long as nose job take to heal from a 'REAL' plastic surgeon.

In my practice, we see patients for primary and secondary rhinoplasty. Healing time can vary, but the general post-operative course I describe to my patients can include the following depending on what was done during the rhinoplasty:

1. Post-op - for the first 3-5 days patients have a splint and nasal packing in place.
2. Days 3-5 - the packing or internal nasal splint is removed and the external splint is changed. Any exterior sutures are removed (some patients will not have external sutures at all).
3. Days 7-10 - we remove the external splint.

Usually patients are OK to return to non-strenuous work at one week.

Healing for any boney work takes about 6 weeks. The incisions are usually well on their way to being healed at 2-3 weeks. And while most changes are complete in the first month, tip swelling can persist for about a year.

I think she just flares her nostrils a lot. Especially when she does those weird mouth " ^ " type expressions, where her bottom lip comes down and her mouth is open. Make-up, lighting, angles, all that can make her nose look different. Also, maybe her nose isnt perfectly symmetrical, so it may look different from different sides.

Try taking some pictures of yourself from different angles and see if you had a "nose job" in between pictures. >_>

That's what I said prior to this. There isn't much downtime for a nose job.

Look at someone like Ashley Tisdale (most recent to have a nose job) she had downtime that seemed to last just a week and was already at events and such doing work with no sign of bruising or incision site. The only visible sign was a mild case of being swollen.

The interesting thing about this whole discussion is the immediate attempt to squash those who think she did (in the past at all) rather than live and let live.

I did find it funny that this person said "boney" rather than keeping it real and stating the true term. lol

Meh - whatever. if she got it done, she got it done. I never cared about the whole plastic surgery thing anyways, and that goes for every celebrity (or non-celebrity)

I agree. Jeremy's post actually proved the point that it is possible time wise for her to have had something done - even if that wasn't the intention of this post^_^. (She had a few periods last year of inactivity. Or at least some stretches of time where she was not in the public eye)

I don't think she had a nose job though - it doesn't seem definitive enough to make that statement since it could just be makeup still.

But yeah, plastic surgery recovery time, especially if you aren't doing some major overhaul, has actually gotten much shorter in the last couple of years. She did actually have the time last year to have something done. Not saying she did it, just that it is possible time wise for her to have had something done last year if she had wanted to.
