OK it's stated - Basedow's disease is a disorder characterized partly by excessive activity of the thyroid gland.

sounds real serious O_O & she's the same age as me god dammit

I've heard of Graves' disease in my biology class. It's a pretty serious disease and the side effects aren't pretty. I hope she gets well soon. This makes me so sad!

That video was so sad to see. :( About the disease thing.

I was so happy yesterday when I found out she got married.

But then today, everything went from sunshine and rainbows to dark and stormy clouds. T_T

There is a silver lining to recent news: her doctors caught her symptoms in time and she'll most likely pull through due to early detection. :)

I was so happy with her marriage but now it turns to a disaster..

Hopefully she'll be OK.

All diseases of thyroid can be cure without problem!
Last year, I learned that I have a goitre at my thyroid. Last June I uderwent a surgical operation! Now, I only have the left side of my thyroid! I only take a drug by day! So, Don't worry. Ayaka is well!

i got mine on 2005, and underwent a surgery and i still take drugs until now..
yeah I'm still alive, so she's going be okay :)

but my doc told me that, a pregnant mother who has thyroid must extra careful during the pregnancy & birth

edit: as long as her thyroid gland doesn't grow bigger, she doesn't need to undergo a surgery

I hope it wont disturb her voice because she sells her voice

no.. it won't disturb her voice..
if u undergo a surgery, you cant speak like 2-3 days because the scar is swollen.. but after that you can speak normally

but i think since it's early detected and handled, she doesn't need a surgery..

yeah the illness was detected early which's a good thing , I can't imagine if that was detected way too late should things manifest

They dated for 8 months. I guess when the chemisrty there, it's there. My choir teacher only dated his wife for 4 months before they married. :tired

my teachers dated their husbands for an even less period of time. it's because of religion, though, lol. but still :P as long as your happy, your happy :D and luckily ayaka and hiro seem to be.

Oh man, I would be sad to see ayaka quit. She's my favorite singer right now and probably the most talented vocalist since a really long time. The statement didn't imply that she was quitting the music industry. Simply that she's not going to sing while she's going under treatment. She might comeback when she will be ready right? But if she wants to quit, I respect her choice. Knowing she's ill just makes me sad, I want her to rest and get well.

Wow I have a feeling when her single comes out it'll be a #1 hit.
