It's one awful dress. The belt is actually a nice fixture though, because it breaks up the dress, and it's fugly design, and gives the girl some weight where she needs it.

On Ayu is just looks boring. I think it would look nice on Ayu if she had a belt too.

Another thing is that...it looks a lot more like that girls natural style of dress...on ayu, and especially in that particular shoot...i felt it was sort of misplaced...especially with the giant velvet bow she tried to wear with it...I feel like they took a dress that was supposed to be fun and quirky, and tried to turn it into something elegant and it just doesn't go.

Ayu's versions is much better IMO. And it's only 'cause I'm Ayu Freak. But because I really do not like how it looks on that girl. And overall I can't say that is a great dress at all.

I hope this isn't leading to a "copy"-thread. But yeah, the dress is the same and Ayu looks hella-better in it than the other girl...Even if the dress is uglier than vomit itself.

Ayumi has a habit of throwing tacky extra pieces onto herself. The dress is wild enough that it really needs nothing else to catch attention.

Why must you immediately throw out that "Oh Ayumi looks better" in it? What's the point other than confirming to yourself that because a dress was worn by two people your idol must always place first? You're comparing a candid that doesn't really capture the woman's shape with a picture of Ayumi HamaPhotoshop.

Well, this is the 'regret' of that photoshoot. On the photo where Ayu looks the most decent, the dress is the fugliest.

To be honest, between Ayu's bow, and Kym Ng's belt... I think I would go for the latter.

I think Ayu no doubt looks better. The belt on the other girl is the thing that looks tacky and misplaced, not Ayu's bow. I can't understand the point of putting a belt on a dress that looks bulky on its own already. Thin belts never really work that way. They'd just make the overall form of the dress look bulkier still. On Ayu, the dress actually fits her form. Most of the stuff Ayu wears does that though, so I wonder if she gets everything form-fitted for her. She definitely can, of course. On the other girl, the dress looks a lot looser especially around the hips, unlike the way it fits really snugly on Ayu.

Then again, to balance out this post, the fact that Ayu's picture is a magazine photoshoot and the other is not, and is taken at an awkward-ish angle probably plays a part. I don't think Ayu's dress would look much worse on her if she were to appear on a TV show with it though.

For your info guys, the dress's by Loewe. So nobody's copying anyone cause it's a designer dress. Besides, I've seen and touched the real dress before during a photoshoot, and to me, it looked quite gorgeous. Very intricate in details, especially the feathers and all.

So I've nothing to rant about towards kim or ayu in the same dress. :)

BoA works it better. The jacket covers up that fact that the design is apart of the dress. It makes it look like a completely different top. Good on her.

It looks better on Ayu but don't forget that it's a photoshoot, so they surely photoshopped it... Kym Ng photo did not have the same lightening nor the same background. We can't tell who is better with that dress, given that they are not in the same context
