Whose voice is your chosen voice/vocals in sound, singing and live performance?

Namie Amuro's or Utada Hikaru's?

I like the way Namie sounds live more than Utada because Namie dances around and sounds great but Utada kind of stands there and sounds like she's running out of breath sometimes!

hikki has more training and "talent" i guess..

in terms of overall performance I think Namie is better. =) at least she dances. although hikki's vocals are good. yeah hikki runs out of breath sometimes. O_o

Namie can sound fantastic even when dancing at the same time. Utada can be out of breath so quickly while just standing there. Her vocals have been so horrid lately.

Tough. I like them both but I listen to Namie more consistently. Her vocal style just hits me the right way.

Utada in terms of voice. Still, Namie does the whole show better (singing, dancing, staging...)

Namie's voices is kind off weak IMO.. I love utada's strength in her voice and how it sounds so magical especially when she sings with the Ah's from be my last and letters. Namie's voice completely blends in to the music in her lives it's sometimes even hard to hear her...

You're comparing a talented dancer who knows how to dance and sing at the same time to a singer who would rather have images play in the background while she sings out?

Not a fair comparison to be honest xD So I'm not gonna vote since they both are on two different levels.

EDIT: Didn't see that this was for vocals only xD I vote Utada. I just like her vocals better

I really dont know on this one...

honestly...I really don't get where everyone is saying that Namie can dance and sing awesomely...most of the lives I've seen...she's been underneath the key all the time...maybe that's only her recent performances?

where as hikki has like...stamina problems...but at least she's on key...

I like hikki's voice better...but namie's is very pleasant...the problem I have with voting down hikki...is that the only thing wrong with her voice is the stamina...but that's due to the nature of her songs...

I know as a performer that you shouldn't really get extra points just because your stuff is hard...if you can't execute it then what difference does it make...

but namie's voice isn't really anything special...and her upper register is really annoying...

wow, strange, the more i listen to namie's live, the less I listen to her Studio-Recorded songs, because the live makes her music sound so much better imo

The blunt fact is, Namie doesnt have a live voice really. She isnt a vocalist. She's more like a gorgeous body and gorgeous hair marketed brilliantly by Avex.

I love both of these artists but I decided to give my vote for Namie this time since she really has talent to dance and sing and not sing off key. That's very impressive.

I love Utada's voice as well but this time Namie won. :)

That's awfully opinionated and straight out FALSE for something that is supposed to be a blunt fact. I have a small inkling that most of you who say that Namie sounds horrible live hae never watched any of her tours before, because if you did, you would not be saying this. Watch So Crazy tour- that should be enough

You know what...I actually took your advice and watched some of her tour performances....and I have to say...I'm really sorry about my retarded comment...I cant believe I came off that way...I wasnt thinking when I said that...what I meant to say was that I dont really prefer her voice and that I think she is beautiful, has great hair, and is marketed well by avex...but what came out was rude and yes, opinionated. Yeah...it sounded like I was trying to make her seem like a talentless bimbo who just looks great. Thats untrue. I actually find her ballads amazing and I'm really regretting this comment right now...sorry about that.

Well, if that's the way individuals perceive Namie then try explaining to them her great qualities in a more composed manner next time. :yes That way you can build her fanbase. :)

hikki-wise, all around awesomely superb vocalist <3 i love her high notes/falsetto :) but when she does really low notes for a long time during a song, i get rlly irritated @_@

I'm not a big fan of both voices, but I like Namie's 2000-2005 voice.

Overall I prefer Hikki voice though during live her voice is frequently all over the place & out of breath !

I like Namie voice on studio and especially in 2002/2004! it was the best IMO her voice was sexy and her range well controlled but in LIVE I really dislike because it's way too nasally and unpleasant to my ear even if she sing on key !
