I really like the pop (So Nyeo Shi Dae, SHINee), hip-hop (Epik High), urban (Lee Hyo Ri), dance (Son Dam Bi), electronica/jazz (Clazziquai Project) and modern rock (Loveholic) type of Korean music. But right now, I'm REALLY into indie pop and indie rock music. Especially artists from Pastel Music. :heart

AyuRox 3rd June 2009 11:44 PM

... ich spreche Deutsch nicht...

I have my music divided into 2 basic categories: that which derives from Ayu, and that which derives from disco.

Ayu is a little less than half my music (~500 of ~1200, but 200 of that ~1200 is 1 and a half min. long megamixed songs)

As for the disco, I don't have any actual disco, but I have music that derives from disco. Meaning eurobeat. I have the "SUPER EUROBEAT presents" J-pop remix albums from Ayu, m.o.v.e, dream, ELT, and globe. I also have SEB volumes 90, 100, 120, and 189. I have the albums Eurobeat for Christmas, and Super Euro Christmas II. And then there's Eurobeat Disney, which I have all 3 volumes. And a couple other songs I dl'ed from iTunes.

If any of you don't know, eurobeat is made in Italy, but only released in Japan.

I'm not sure if Hands Up derives from disco... but I put in that category anyways. Hands up is produced in Germany. If anyone knows what Hands Up comes from, plz tell me. I suppose I could make an entirely separate "trance" category for it...

Anyways, the way Hands Up works is that all the artists have a crapload of singles, all with anywhere from 2-10 remixes on it. Very rarely do they ever have full albums. So, theres way too much to list off what I have. You can look on the "What's on your iPod" thread, if you're that interested.

The popular artists in Hands Up (the hands up allstars, as I call them), are ppl like Rob Mayth, Tune Up!, Alex M. vs. Marc Van Damme, Discotronic, Cascada, Verano, and here's the kicker, Megara vs. DJ Lee. You can find those artists' remixes on a vast majority of the singles, and most of them have a fair amount of original works.

And then there's the various stuff that doesn't fit into the other 2 (3?) categories above. Artists like Caramell, Utada Hikaru, and m.o.v.e.

So, yeah, that was kinda long, but I'm in a really talkative mood right now...

Opera and orchestral classical music. I love listening to them in the car; it's just really ... I dunno, breathtaking? For that matter, I love pseudo-/semi-operatic singers like Josh Groban, Celine Dion and Jim Nabors too.

And country. Nanci Griffith and Keith Urban are playlist staples for me; Rascal Flatts is good too.

Celtic was one of the first genres I really got into; I heard Enya's "Only Time" and was immediately hooked. Then I got into Loreena McKennitt and her blend of Celtic with other genres (she uses electric guitar in her songs <3).

And bands like Matchbox Twenty, Daughtry, The Fray, etc. Love The Fray's piano-driven melodies, very cool. And mainstream American pop a la Kelly Clarkson is my guilty pleasure. :P

No, just saw the tittle :laugh

Ayu-roBeat 13 16th June 2009 06:13 AM

Rammstein is awesome. :D (Weren't they working on a new album or something?)

Hmm, for me, I organize my music: Japanese (98% of which is Ayu), Italian and German. The rest is mostly video game stuff.

As for genres, it's almost all Electronica/Dance category if not foreign pop (but even that is considered dance sometimes too). Top 3 artists! Ayumi Hamasaki --> Eiffel 65 --> Blümchen

Oh yeah, I'm also into classical, new age/chillout, and rock sometimes.

CaseNumber:825 16th June 2009 10:29 PM

I listen to absolutely loads of different types of music

Mostly Asian pop (J-Pop, K-Pop, Mandopop, Cantopop)

Apart from that I love Western pop music

I like Pop/Rock music as well.

I used to absolutely love Rock music, especially of the 'Evanescence' variety. That was at least 3 years ago, and now I pretty much can't stand that genre. Mostly because it's so freakin' depressing it's unreal. And almost every musician in modern rock music seems so egotistical and it's just annoying.
I can't stand Indie-rock music either. And that's a rant in itself.

My favourite genre's would have to go something like this:

Pop
RnB
Dance/Electronica
Soul
Happy Rock (Which isn't a real genre but still)
Pop/Rock
Musical
Urban

I like some Country Pop artists as well (Such as Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Jessican Andrews, Martina McBride etc etc)

chloeM 2nd June 2010 05:18 AM

ooh ooh~! Glam Rockers~! adam lambert and Tokio Hotel~

asmAyumi1992 2nd June 2010 05:34 AM

CHE.R.RY 6th June 2010 07:24 AM

Well I tend to lean toward a lot of electronic stuff...I don't know why but I'm really drawn to electronica/dance music. I also listen to some rock...

....and this goes for both Asian music and Western music.
