NEWS. this originally 9 member group was formed in late 2003 as a volleyball support team. they released a single for promotion called "NEWS ニッポン" for their service as supporters. however, when NEWS made their official debut, Moriuchi Takahiro left the group, and the 8-man group released "希望 ~Yell~". ever since, all of NEWS' singles have topped the ORICON charts. and all was fine and dandy~!

well, that's definitely not the case, isn't it? ISN'T NEWS A SIX MEMBER GROUP? WHAT HAPPENED TO THE OTHER 2 MEMBERS? discussing NEWS' history comes with a lot of baggage to talk about. willing to read? NO?! WELL, TOO BAD. hahaha.

the formation of NEWS itself was quite a ~drama starter~, for sure. there were quite a number of debut Johnny's Juniors groups being considered after the debut of Tackey & Tsubasa in 2002. in this mix was KAT-TUN, KANJANI8, ya-ya-yah, 4TOPS, etc. however, JE formed a completely new group consisting of 9 young guys with no prior membership together as a group. this was NEWS, standing for North East West South. this formation literally divided the Johnny's Juniors. Yamashita Tomohisa from 4TOPS, Nishikido Ryo & Uchi Hiroki from KANJANI8, Koyama Keiichiro & Kato Shigeaki & Kusano Hironori from K.K.Kity, Moriuchi Takahiro & Masuda Takahisa from Johnny's Juniors, & a competely new Tegoshi Yuya were to debut nationwide.

this upset the members quite a bit, since YamaPi was sure to debut alongside with good pal, Ikuta Toma (ex-4TOPS member, currently a fierce actor). not to mention the fate of KANJANI8 was in peril now that 2 members were going to debut (to make that short, both RyoUchi were going to make time for both groups). also, there were complaints from the other older Juniors units about this debut. BUT, nevertheless, NEWS was still a green-lit debut JE group.

it took a while for the members to know each other. YamaPi has stated before that he knew NONE of the other members other than Nishikido Ryo, since he was on the same status as he was in Johnny's Juniors. and once things finally started to get going for NEWS, controversy started to pour in. in summer 2005, member Uchi Hiroki was busted for underage drinking and was suspended for half a year. NEWS went under the radar a bit, and during this time YamaPi promoted the million-selling "Seishun Amigo"single along with Johnny's Junior KAT-TUN member, Kamenashi Kazuya. once that promo died down, it was time to promote NEWS again. however, early 2006, it was reported that Kusano Hironori was caught for underage drinking and that ultimately put NEWS on hiatus for the rest of 2006. during this time, the 6 remaining members did solo activities.

it was announced during Johnny's Countdown Live 2006-2007 that NEWS was to return to the scene with a new single "Hoshi wo Mezashite" without Uchi Hiroki & Kusano Hironori. Uchi & Kusano were demoted from NEWS to trainee status (which is lower than Johnny's Junior status, ouch!). however, the 2 are still working under JE (both are Johnny's Juniors now). since their return, NEWS has been releasing regularly and have been working diligently. ♥

* Mr. Yamashita Tomohisa is the group's leader. he's one of the most recognized faces in Johnny's Jimusho probably due to the great influences & ties to a former golden child himself, Mr. Takizawa Hideaki. Tackey gave him the nickname we all know, YamaPi. Pi comes from PINKU (the Japanese word for the color pink) due to the fact he always wore pink. LOL. YamaPi is always professional & considerate, making him a great role model. how he is best friends with KAT-TUN's notorious, club-banging, GO CLUB GET DRUNK, & outspoken Jin Akanishi is one of JE's greatest mysteries.

MR.SEX ON LEGS錦戸亮
* LOOK AT HIM. LOOK AT THIS PIECE OF PERFECTION. HOT DAMN. SO FREAKING SEXY. AMAAAAZING. U CAN'T DENY THIS HOT, SEXY PIECE OF JOHNNY MEAT. not only an AHS favorite, Ryo Nishikido is also one of NEWS' most recognize members. perhaps due to the fact that he is also a member of another rising/amazing JE group, KANJANI8. Ryo definitely juggles the life with NEWS/KANJANI8, yet makes it look flawless, effortless. he's a talented musician and actor. each role is polarizing, especially that Oikawa Sousuke in "Last Friends". it still gives me the chills today. HIS TEARS DESERVE AN OSCAR FOR CHRIST'S SAKE. Ryo is quite shy, despite being sharp-tongued. he's also part of the "Akanishi Troop". LOL.

* Keiichiro Koyama is the one that usually talks a lot. he's NEWS' MC and is also one half of Shounen Club's hosts. prior to NEWS he was part of the Johnny's Junior unit K.K.Kity alongside with fellow members Kato Shigeaki & Kusano Hironori. Koyama was also a student at Meiji University and graduated with a degree in Literature. his current focus is on improving his MC. oh! and since he loves Shige so much, they often do songs together under the unit name, Koyashige.

* Shigeaki Kato is a good-looking fellow. but despite that, he is a law student at Aoyama Gakuin University. idk, i always thought that was pretty intimidating, haha. he had a pretty rough start in NEWS, for he had a hard time trying to get the attention from fans & questioning his role in the group. but now, Shige's adapting well. yay! lol, but his mother seems to be the leader amongst the NEWS' moms and always tells the other members moms to watch his stageplays or whatnot. LOL. he's close with Koyama, as stated above.

* Takahisa Masuda is the bubbly, cute member of the group. i think he likes to eat a lot, yes? LMAO. he joined Johnny's Jimusho November of 1998 and was a backdancer for his seniors. he was also a former member of Kis-My-Ft before joining NEWS as a member in 2003. in the group, he gets along well with Tegoshi Yuya, and has released physical CD releases with him under the name "Tegomass" in both Japan and Sweden.

* Yuya Tegoshi was the odd-one out when NEWS was first formed. that's because he did a "Okada Junichi" and joined the group straight after entering Johnny's Jimusho. yup, he has no Johnny's Juniors experience. but Tegoshi is probably noted for that great, strong voice of his. Tegoshi never likes to lose and is quite competitive. he gets along great with NEWS member Takahisa Masuda, but i don't think i can say the same with Jin Akanishi.

like for Masuda's case in RESCUE (which's a great drama imo :heart) , his role I feel's more like a supportive one just like YAMAMOTO YUSUKE , if you compare it against KAT-TUN's Maru

i don't think i've seen a drama with the others. i only saw "My Boss, My Hero" with Tegoshi. his role in that made me question his sexuality too. WTF. xD

he's a supporting role along with Tanaka Koki. the lead is Nagase Tomoya, but there is a lot of screentime with Tegoshi.

but OMG. it's a must-watch. Nagase is genius in it!

i can't believe i liked Tegoshi at that time though......looking back at it (because of his character)...WTF was i thinking. :laugh

the way he played akira was definitly different from his other dramas

although when I think about it ProDai...his acting was a bit different
so yeah I do hope that this time it will be a ''new yamapi''

the others should have dramas. it's kinda unfair. yes ryo and yamapi are popular, but it's a bit obvious that dramas also help the popularity...

What was his character like? And OMG, my ex-husband (Koki) was in that drama?

yeah...he seemed like he liked Nagase more than just on a "friendly" turf...actually, Koki does too, but Koki didn't seem so damn awkward & strange about it. LOL. but in the drama, it never really went farther than just friends since Nagase's character likes Aragaki Yui's character.

idk, Tegoshi irks me a bit. :P it's kinda like, "QUIT ACTING ALL CUTE"

Koki likes him because of their Yakuza ties, LOL. kinda like in a brotherly type of way since they're ~gangsta~. Koki's quite overprotective.

Nagase's Makio is an attention grabber, i suppose. he's a 27 year old guy finishing high school since he didn't finish it when he was younger. and in order to gain control of the gang, his father said he had to finish high school.

Makio is really dumb. 8D but you can't help but like the guy, lol.

Yesterday I couldn't sleep at night, and suddenly a dusty light bulb shone suddenly, and the next thing I know I'm working on my new romantic novel, and I named my main character Ryo ! Even though my character has almost nothing in common with Ryo, I just couldn't resist the temptation of writing his name XD
This morning, I found out that PMS can make you do weird things like writing a novel at 3:00AM

I really need a new hobby XD
