Concert tour 2000 - was she sick?
 

i was watching Concert tour 2000 the other day and her voice sounded really bad, like she was sick or something.. i don't remember it ever sounding that bad during that time with other lives and such.. so my question is does anyone know if she was sick during this tour?

which one did u see? there were two tours in 2000. And I think it was just her original voice you are wondering about. If you think 2000 tours were bad you should go see countdown live for 2002-2003! That was horrible!

i saw both, and they both sounded like she was sick. i heard she was sick in the 2002-2003 CDL too, and she sounded worse than that in the two concerts i watched, so i was curious. also in her TV lives in 2000 her voice didn't sound nearly as bad as in the tours imo, again leading me to think she was sick.

Hmm... Maybe she was. I don't know, but I never heard whether or not she was sick. I actually don't recall her sounding too horrible. Maybe I should watch those concerts again...

Well... she used to sing VERY bad until 2002, 2003...

She was sick at some point, but I don't think it affected her vocals.

Yeah, I always thought that the Part II vocals were...horrible. Even my cat hides under my bed. (I'm serious!) But I just attributed that to her being new and untrained.

So she was singing bad due to her Ménière's disease?

i think she's sick especially for the part 2 concert tour...somehow like a serious cough or smth, the part 1 is better. but i'm not sure of the real reasons, but to me she seems sick that time

Nops... she didn't had it until Dome Tour 2001... (and it only hugelly affected her singing after she knew she was totally deaf), so... IMO she just was a disaster as a vocalist...

^ wrong! her ear-problems started before CT00 part 2, she even cancelled the first concerts of it because of a "temporary deafness" in her left ear

yeah, the avex bashing one xD it wasn't much about it, but I think they said she already had ear problems once the year before(before DT01) when she encountered a temporary deafness in her left ear and had to cancel some concerts of CT00 part 2

I don't think she was sick or anything save for the ear disease. That was just how she sounded when she first debuted. Of course for people who watched a very recent tour of hers, then CT2000 will seem out of place.

OK thanks for the answers! idk, she just seemed sick to me too because when she yelled to the audience it was like her sick yell in the CDL 2002-2003. but wow thank goodness her voice improved

^once I showed a friend of mine who understand a lot about singing an 2000 ASFXX live and the last year's a-nation one... and she was like "Ok, it doesn't even sound like the same person o_O"

i know.. it's amazing how much she improved, it's like a whole different voice. she still has off moments but nowhere near as bad as her voice used to be

IMO her worst concert voice-wise is AT02 ><

Yeah, Ayu's voice has improved, In 1999/2000, her voice was :puke

I agree, here voice in this concert is the worse I'v heard, This was the first concert I saw of ayu, luckily I didnt make my decision about ayu from this countdown :P

But I think for ayus concert tours, avex probably had ayu working around the clock so her voice was a bit tired, it was also higher then too but I like to watch them to see how ayus voice has matured over time and with the concert tour 2000 vol-1 dvd i love how you can change views to see whats happening behind the scence when ayu goes off the stage :D

it's odd for me, you know, because like seeing some of her lives, she doesn't seem THAT bad.

But maybe she just couldn't handle full concerts back then.

Concerts are really hard on you. But I thought she was also sick for that tour...she's always sick...damn.

it was her first big concert so i guess she was unprepare or untrain to sing that long . her voice couldnt fallow; i dont think she was sick but surely tired.

^ yeah, in single pefroamcnes she did for tv shows she actually sounded very good(her voice was nasal, but she hit most notes and sounded very much like her studio recordings)

Her worst vocal performance for a tour was AT 2002 but if I remember right, thats because she actually was sick at the time or having some sort of throat problem.

I don't think either of the AT 2000s sound "bad." Different than how she sounded later, but not bad. Honestly I think her current vocals have a lot of problems going on too, just different ones than what she had going on then.
