Rock ~2003-2009~
I just made a playlist in iTunes called A ROCK.
It would be cool if this were released, maybe with something extra for incentive. Here is my tracklist. I think these are almost ALL off ayu's songs that can be considered "rock". I think some people have a hard time differentiating between something sounding like "rock" and "pop-rock". :) 01- Mirror 02- talkin' 2 myself 03- Rule 04- GAME 05- because of You 06- is this LOVE? 07- decision 08- taskinst 09- 1 LOVE 10- Daybreak 11- About you 12- evolution 13- Humming 7/4 14- taskinlude 15- A song for xx "030213 Session #2" 16- End of the world 17- Liar 18- Heartplace 19- kiss o' kill BONUS TRACK: Memorial address "take 2 ver" SPECIAL FIRST PRESS ONLY TRACK: Mirrorcle World Thoughts, opinions? I took a few minutes to organize the tracklist and I think I made a nice one. :) |
uumm.. isn't Free & Easy considered kinda rock-ish too?? :innocent
|
yeah free & easy could pass as rock, but why'd you put Daybreak on the list?? O_o'' what's rockish about it??

I think it's a good tracklist. I would definitely consider those songs "ayu-rock".
I think identity and It was would also be good additions! |
I suppose Free & Easy could be on there... but the original mix of Daybreak is definitely rock, at least IMO. :)
|
I agree with Daybreak, just not the single version. I think that a lot of Ayu's songs aren't pop-inspired. I would never ever in a million years consider kiss o' kill or Because of You pop music. XD
|
Waa~!! I'll buy it if you released it :) (But I'll buy if it's been official)
|
@ zyoeru
I do, but not because of the songs itself, but the mix, they have pop-mixes, though with some changes they would be rock |
Euhw, I miss identity :(
|
Pretty nice track list~ I would definitely buy it since I absolutely love Ayu's rock songs. :)

Am I the only one who doesn't consider Free & Easy rock?

oh well... hopefully you can enlighten me and tell me what is rock in your opinion. May i passed something by because most of that list is rock to me :yes Ps.- i love your playlist Pieces of seven :yes |
throw I am..., it was, and missunderstood on there and take away daybreak/humming/evolution/mirrorcle world (or mirror, pointless to have both) and we have a deal. ;)
I have always wanted to do something like this. :P I'd so buy this. |
you can kill me but Daybreak still isn't considered as rock to me :rflmao it is a bit of a "hard" song but still not rock, unlike the rest of the list :P
|
^lol and I just realized. look at your status. Daybreak initiate. XD
We could call it. "A Rock!". Like the total opposite of A Ballads. It would be epic. And she could put a new song on there like how she did it with rainbow and part of me. The album art would look so cool. I imagine something like kumi's DDD single. Inspired by British punk. *love* |
Great list! I love those songs except I rather do some changes.
decision~> identity I don't like decision much, lol personal preference. Daybreak/evolution/humming~> Until the day.../Guilty/(don't) Leave me alone Those songs are too poppish than rockish for me, so the second set seems edgier. |
I totally came up with this idea like 2 years ago lol. :P
|
I considered NEVER EVER a rock song too
|
about Until that Day...
i guess it COULD be on the rock list too, it's kinda like electro-rock, don't you think? and Picaflor 7/4 LoL i just realised that too xD Daybreak is stalkin' me xD |
what about decision?
|
so...my definition of rock: i cant explain it xD but rock just is...different, if i listen to one of ayus "rock" songs i think of pop with a rock influence, especially the singing melodys are mostly pretty poppy and the mix, with mix i mean how everything sounds all polished(especially her voice) and how guitars, bass and drums often are pretty background, another thing i cant explain properly xD but its like...rock mixes are never polished to be perfect, they simply arent, little flaws and some...dirty sound belong to rock and ayu has this in not a single song

If Daybreak included then Still alone still be considered |
nice tracklist! :yes
|
About you yes
i dont consider ayus music rock though |
those arguments doesn't quite convince me. The problem here, i think, is that the term rock, unfortunately, is used to loosely and can be used to describe punk, grunge, post grunge and even metal music :luv2 (among other roots of rock music) ... so i guess this is where we part ways.
While i agree that some of her tracks have pop influences (a pop influence doesn't make a track strictly pop) or an R&B influences (Love N Hate) I totally believe Rule (i.e.) Ladie's night (another night) because of you and others are rock. :yes and i don't think ayu always needs to make rock in her albums to be considered a rocker. I DO consider ayu's rock... rock. :yes Oh, and by the way (back to topic) the only track i would change is evolution. I don't see how that track is rock at all :shrug |
Ooh, fun...but A ROCK makes me think of a pet rock for some reason. xD Not just a rock, but yeah.... I dunno why, but I'm really goofy today....
Anyhow, I would call it "A J-ROCK ANTHOLOGY" or something, like, with Anthology written not only with an Ayu A but maybe like, in the RAINBOW album font.... anyhow. Something J-ROCK would be cool. 1.) GUILTY 2.) Marionette 3.) talkin' 2 myself 4.) About You 5.) Mirror 6.) (miss)understood 7.) alterna 8.) Because of You 9.) Rule 10.) Mirrorcle World I dunno, to me (miss)understood and Rule seem kinda rock-ish...so if they aren't obviously J-rock or anything, gomen. ^-^; |
I'd throw still alone and Ladies Night ~another night~ in there too.
