Jrock reccomendation
Does anyone have any reccomendations on a good artist/band that signs jrock or jmetal or even K-rock or K-metal? I'm looking for songs that are really upbeat. I've been listening to alot of rock music lately. lol ^_^
I already know... Tsukiko Amano Shiina Ringo The Trax Do As Infinity ling tsuite sigure school food punishment X-japan L'arc en ciel |
DID SOMEONE SAID JROCK MUSIC ?! :P :P
Here're my fave rock artistes other than the ones that you have listed - BREAKERZ (well duh hahaha) - flumpool - GLAY - B'z - UVERworld - abingdon boys school :heart - Anna Tsuchiya (her earlier works are more rock based . Now not so much but it's still good for me) - OLIVIA - SID - Fukuyama Masaharu - Saito Kazuyoshi :heart if you need further recommendations on what song(s) to listen/check out for the artistes I mentioned , just let me know |
Um.....UVERWORLD. :D
hm, also abingdon boys school. Alice nine, though you might not like his voice, you could still try him out :yes. |
Hmm I've listened to Uverworld. I didn't know TM Revolution was part of abingdon boys school. @_@! lol
These groups are nice but I'm looking for something a tad bit more hardcore, without screaming. lol Any jmetal artist? o.o |

the other members you see in abs , they have been helping out with his T.M.Revolution works almost since the beginning so they're not exactly newbies in the industry :) |

I like a lot of the older J-Rock bands myself, like Pierrot, BUCK-TICK, Dir en grey (though you might not like them, Kyo is a screamer, haha), Janne Da Arc, alice nine. (as someone else recommended), MUCC, DuelJewel, Merry, girugamesh, hide's solo stuff is awesome. Guniw Tools, Nookicky, cali≠gari, deadman. I also like ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION.
|
I don't know if Aqua Timez's considered rock because they're known for being pop/rock but some of their stuff have a harder rock edge

kyo wasnt a screamer back then any album from Gauze to Withering to death. you my like) Kalafina (in bento beat box they said they were J-Rock) Kanon Wakeshima :luv2 Moi dix Mois (although they are Visual Kei or Symphonic metal but its similar) the Gazette Mucc |
^ Kanon Wakeshima's considered as rock ? o_O
I suppose it can be counted since hers's gothic classical inspired rock |
Kanon Wakeshima isn't rock. Kalafina neither.
|
^idk why bento beat box said they were JRock
also kanon was in the same category i consider kanon jrock shes definetly not jpop maybe like classical or symphonic |
Inoue Joe
ELLEGARDEN Acid Black Cherry D'espairsRay the HIATUS Miz and Stereopony (they're more pop/rock though) And definitely UVERworld and HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR :yes |
Moi dix Mois :yes
i dont really consider hitomi as a rock singer, but she did a lot of pop-rock song |

I was going to recommend "Tokyo Jihen" but then I recalled that their music genre does not fall under 'Rock'.
But I see that the other members have helped you greatly. |
I don't know if YUI's considered as rock but after Rolling star onwards , her works began to take on a more harder rock edge
as evident in the B-side of LOVE & TRUTH ie. Jam |
I think you should try ONE OK ROCK. They are sooooo amazing. <333 And I don't say that lightly for a band at all. I'm very picky, yet I like all but one or two of their songs. (Compared to most artists, where I can only listen to half or less.) Their album kanjou effect is really good. You could try "koi no aibou kokoro no kupido", that song is really upbeat and awesome. :yes
|
Gackt, HYDE and Girugamesh are the only ones I know.
|
I don't know what kind of rock you are talking about... I mostly know of Visual/Oshare Kei bands, through my friends. The ones I like are LM.C, SuG and alice nine. An Cafe are popular, as are The Gazette and Ayabie.
|
i think nightmare is good too ;-)
|
Check out Versailles, if you sorta like the visual kei rock stuff. Also DEATHGAZE
