miryoku 13th September 2003 07:41 PM

i'll do my favourite lines from my favourite bands.

1. "when you take my soul don't take my pride..."
2. "I stop and I stare too much...Afraid that I care too much... And I hardly dare to touch...For fear that the spell may be broken"
3. "This is a low...But it won't hurt you...When you are alone it will be there with you...Finding ways to stay solo"
4. "No one I think is in my tree ...I mean it must be high or low"
5. "How you get a rude and a reckless?...Don't you be so crude and a feckless...You been drinking brew for breakfast"
6. "Not just deaf and dumb...Staring at the sun...I'm not the only one...Who'd rather go blind"
7. "I used to think that the day would never come...I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun...My morning sun is the drug that brings me near ...To the childhood I lost , replaced by fear"
8. "And she gave away the secrets of her past...And said I've lost control again"
9. "Shiver and say the words... every lie you've heard."

jerms I thought you loved Britney Spears lol....why didn't you put her on your favorites list?
:laugh i like her. the list is my favorites. honestly, she's not one of my favorites. i just dont like it when people talk trash about her. she's not as bad as a lot of people think she is...but..i dont prefer her music on top of everyone elses :)

StorDuff 14th September 2003 03:59 PM

Nope, to be honest, I've never really persued them after the break up. I have an Alec Empire/Techno Animal CD, some Hanin Elias and Nic Endo tracks on my computer, and I've never heard Carl Crack. Nic Endo's noise music is just awful, Hanin is OK, and Alec is trying to be the same but without the other 3. I'll try to find that track though :)

sxesven 14th September 2003 04:10 PM

Oh I asked you that question here, nevermind the other topic then :D

It's not a track tho, it's a full live record, dating from 1998 when ATR was still together. Alec Empire and Merzbow performed together in CBGB's. It's such an awesome record.

I gotta get my hands on some Nic Endo stuff tho. It's noisy and she's half Japanese. I love it already.

StorDuff 14th September 2003 04:34 PM

Yes, I love that tatoo on her face too!

Her solo music ranges from noise to almost jungle like. Skip over White Heat and such and listen to Heroines, her solo music isn't angry at all. Nor is Hanin Elias, and I loved her :(

I've still yet to hear the Live at Brixton album too.

sxesven 14th September 2003 04:43 PM

What's her solo music like then?

I wouldn't bother if it wasn't harsh, because I like many 'laidback' things too. But it's strange... melodic, normal stuff on DHR? That's really weird :laugh

StorDuff 14th September 2003 06:51 PM

It's not edgy at all, and it's VERY laid back. Not to say it's bad really, but it isn't ATR. Alec Empire has some slower music, a lot of it is still the ATR sound, which is good.

However, I love Lolita Storm, not really angry, but full of energy!

Alright, thanks for that! :thumbsup I'll keep an eye out for it then.

squarenuts 4th October 2003 05:06 AM

the worst question you can ever ask me... i like more bands than i can ever recall... in so many different genres- let's see if my hands can keep up with my brain (okay at least a tenth my brains peed):

tool, santana, jimi hendrix, the doors, ok here's the easier way-
http://launch.yahoo.com/lc/?rt=0&rp1=0&rp2=1315694940

a lot of the bands i like play on my radio station- although note which ones say switch111993 rated them- those are my favorite bands, not the ones recommended from other sources... and that list isn't the entire list- more like a fifth of it :D although i spend more time making music than listening to it these days

Just because they SUCK to you..doesn't mean they suck to other people. I could say 'Why do you like Slipknot? They are the stupidest band around!'
It is YOUR choice to like whatever bands..So, don't insult other peoples tastes..As people won't insult yours!

Unknown Ninja 5th October 2003 08:57 PM

I am so god damn sorry I forgot to add IN MY OPINION.

...

HanabiChick 7th October 2003 03:37 PM

I don't really listen to much - 50s, 60s, 80s music I like to listen to. My main listens are The Monkees and MJ, the rest is just CDs I buy because I like them, I'm not really a fan of much these days. Maybe 'cos I'm getting older...

Unknown Ninja 7th October 2003 08:29 PM

Are you grandma old?

narusegawa 7th October 2003 09:17 PM

my fav bands r now:
1) AYU
2) BoA
3) MM
4) Chihiro yonekura
5) Iron maiden

squarenuts 8th October 2003 04:57 AM

ok Unknown Ninja, this is not a forum where you insult other people for what they like- sure i think linkin park is absolutely horrible, but you don't see me saying that, just like you don't see me saying that slipknot is a bunch of no talent losers- a claim i can back up when you consider the fact that the guitarist writes nothing interesting on the guitar, nothing better than what i can do with a distortion pedal and an amp- back when i first picked up the guitar i might add... so lay off the insulting, cause believe me, we can just as easily insult your interests (oh and i should add imo too shouldn't I?) and don't diss the older music, if it wasn't for bands like the Monkees and the whole British invasion, ozzy would not have wanted to sing, and therefore, heavy metal (and your crappy slipknot) would not exist- that and Thriller is still an awesome music video :P
and just to say something relevant- iron maiden! "run to the hills..... run for your lives"

Unknown Ninja 8th October 2003 08:39 PM

right.....

HanabiChick 8th October 2003 09:38 PM

I suppose it could be seen as an insult... but I'm not insulted. I'm not old-old, I'm 26. I meant as I'm maturing my tastes are changing....

squarenuts, thanks for your nice words. Thriller is one of my favourite music videos... And you're right, there's nothing wrong with older music. Some of it is cool.

Unknown Ninja 8th October 2003 09:54 PM

You have to relise, I was joking, I do that, look at my posts.

Set_0ne 8th October 2003 11:53 PM

I think you should then show that you are joking..cause it doesn't look like it..From where I stand.

Unknown Ninja 9th October 2003 03:01 AM

Why don't you look at some of my posts?

Take a look at the differences between my serious posts and my joking posts.

This board is too damn uptight, loosen up, I am not trying to make any body unconfertable, I am like the comic relief in a movie.

yamagatacamille 9th October 2003 05:09 AM

i really like RATM (rage against the machine), nirvana, incubus, DIDO, metallica, radiohead, white stripes, system of a down, sublime...and thats the short list;)
