I don't have any opinions on the titles, if anything, they don't really affect my feelings towards the songs themselves. Although conversations between a fan and a non-fan would be pretty awkward. Fan: Hey, did you know, Ayumi has a new song called You were... Non-fan: ... Fan: ... Non-fan: You were...what? Fan: Oh, just 'You were..." Non-fan: ?! or the other one: Fan: Ayumi has a new song! BALLAD! Non-fan: Oh cool, what's it called? Fan: BALLAD! =D Non-fan: okay, so it's gonna be a ballad. What's the name of this ballad song? Fan: BALLAD? :laugh |

As for me the titles are interesting as I wonder how the songs will actually sound. ayu wins in the ballads department imo so it's less worrying when she is going to release a ballad. I really can't wait for the single, ugh. -_- Oh well, at least it will be released 5 days after my bday. XD |
@Mirrorcle - Exactly. If it weren't for people saying that alan just released a song called BALLAD, I wouldn't have even known. I would have thought, what a strange choice for a song, but hey, it's Ayu so I'm sure it'll be great!

I'm really excited about this single, I think Ayu's ballads are mostly great! And I think the titles are ok, especially You were... sounds really pretty. I think RED LINE is pretty nice one too. :) BALLAD may not be the most creative title, but that's ok for me as long as the song is good.
I wonder what the covers will look like... I hope something pretty and wintery. :) |

^That would be great if she had a Rimmel tie-in. More than likely there will be a LUMIX tie-in, it's kind of inevitable. Seems like they release new cameras when Ayu releases new singles. xD

^Well there is a mini tie-in with RIMMEL from the Arena Tour 09 - possibly if there was a good reception they may extend it :yes I hope so anyway! :)

you know....a while ago christina aguilera had a song (don't remember the title but I think it was on her btb album) that was dedicated to her fans. she sung in it, and then there was a long instrumental where they played audio thank yous from her fans. and supportive words from them. I think if red line was like that, I would love it even more. "thanks team ayu" and have different members record their messages to ayu and have it being played in the background. here it is, it's called "thank you (dedication to fans) if red line was something like this, it would be epic. |

I wont even try to complain. You were... I have nothing to say about. Its a very "Ayu-ish" title.
But let me put it this way. When alan came with the single BALLAD I just thought "LOL, that is just lame. Why even not try to give it a more fitting name?" Then a couple of months ago Ayu does the same thing. Now my thought isnt only "Why BALLAD its lame isnt it?" but its also "Wow, not even a year after alan...? Amazing." Not that Im complaining. Ayu can name her songs that she feels makes them best. BALLAD as a name can say so much but also so little in the same while. I think Ayu meant it to be the more powerful side of the title. But I will probably just think the same way I first did... :P |

i guess technically ballad could also mean "story", so if that's the case i guess it's a little creative... haha
but tbh, i hope there is no sign of white/cream/beige on the covers o_O. i'd rather a dark color scheme, or at least a darker background. something that isn't flesh tones would be nice... haha |
