I have to say that some translation parts are as same as tenshi no hane's, because I couldn't think of the better ones.

I really like the lyrics. Especially since I can relate right now. It seems like it might be about Tomoya again though; unless she has had another serious relationship since then that we don't know about.

I would hope she would have told us if she had a love interest. I doubt she would have such strong feelings for someone, break up with them and then write a song without any of us knowing lol.

I wonder if Tomoya knows she's writing about him so much? Are there any TOKIO fans here? Is he writing about her?

Concerning Tomoya, I find it strange, that everybody's alway like "Ayu broke up with him" and "She left him because she doesn't want a family and only thinks of her career"... I don't think it's true at all, maybe he was the driving force in breaking up? There seem to be some unresolved feelings on Ayu's part. But that's all just speculation, maybe it's about somebody completely different. I really like the lyrics, they are so touching, but I already wrote that in tenshis thread.

The thing is, I DO think he is the one that broke up with her, but it was likely because of those reasons that you mentioned above. Since then, he has been in a serious relationship with Aibu Saki and there have been marriage rumors floating around about them for a long time now too. So it seems this song is maybe her feelings about how he was able to get into a serious relationship with someone else so quickly.

I think... Ayu is the one who wants to focus on her career and all that. Nagase probably wants to settle down, and they have conflicting thoughts and interests from there.

Seriously, I don't think any of them is to be blamed, especially when there's no cheating or whatever. They have conflicting interests, so they separated... oh well.

Those feelings are hard to ignore, and even if you write about it 2 1/2 years later you can still have feelings for that person. Ayu had different stuff going on in her life in GUILTY so maybe that's why the lyrics are different than NEXT LEVEL. Not all her songs are about Love and Relationships. And this one, You were..., seems just to scream Tomoya Nagase to me. Maybe Ayu met him recently and started thinking of him again, she said they are still friends. About Aibu Saki: The have been together for 2 years now and everytime I read an marriage rumour, it says they are gonna get married in the next days or next month. But they don't. For 2 years now. So, maybe there is still hope for the Ayu/Tomoya Shipper. :innocent
