Yeah, opening is not exactly the best slot to have for Kohaku. But overall, Kohaku's ratings were up this year from the previous couple of years. Maybe because it's the 60th. I also found this years Kohaku much more entertaining in general than I usually do.

Wow. DCT as the highest rated? I wasn't expecting it. I mean, I know how crazy popular they are but it would make much more sense for ayaka (with her goodbye) or SMAP (with the MJ tribue) to have the highest rating. DCT just did an usual performance right?

Aww, poor Ayu. She did well to increase her percentage but still got the lowest score xDDD

DCT was the last performer for the womens team. Typically the last two performers get the highest ratings because it is closest to midnight. DCT is also all around very well liked.

Good job Ayu! At least the percentage is higher than last year. I wonder if she'll open the show from now on?

She did very good! But, well, it also was a GREAT performance of Rule!!! I really loved it and do not get tired of watching it!!

Yes, those ratings are great for ayu as the opening act.
EXILE is one of the most popular acts in Japan right now and they performed after ayu and their rating was just 2.9% more, as the rating was build up as the program went on.
So yeah. Nothing bad.

Also the opening part (before ayu) had less ratings so it means that people didn't switch channels or closed the TV while ayu was one. xD

I would be more surprised about arashi though. I would think that they would have the best ratins but I guess it's probably because they weren't an ending act.

That performance was great

Her rating was quite good actually, considering that she was the opening act.

Over all rating for this Kouhaku was impressing. I have to say that I really enjoyed watching all the performances through the whole time.
The DCT's rating is not that surprising though. They performed as the last act for Akagumi, and it was really excellent performance too.

Eh, you can rationalize that it was because she was the opening and that she improved from last year, but in a list of 24 artists, Ayu, the queen of J-pop, couldn't get more viewers than even one of the 23 other artists? Idk, It seems a bit sad :no

Perfume is my favorite artist but I really don't think they deserved to have top 5 in rankings....they lip-synced the whole song @_@. Oh well...gratz to them anyway for spot on dancing and high energey! :D And also, making a point to say gratz to ayaka....her performance blew me away...and Ayu, good job for the opening....

someone should make a list showing the rank and also when they performed...so we can see how they compare.

Why is that sad? Exile were third lowest in ratings among the guys (they sang second) and Exile have sold a ton of records over the past two years.

And yes, with the exception of SMAP and the first-timers, the ratings more or less coincide with performance order.

Also, please take note that these ratings are for the Kanto region only.

This year she need to be at the end to get most of the votes. Cause with such HQ Epic performance she definitely deserved #1.

Sorry, but if you're looking for them, they were NOT in the Kouhaku...don't you understand!!? It's an invitational-only event - L'Arc~en~Ciel weren't even invited!!!

^We don't know that.

The're pretty big and could perfectly turn down the offer, or not attend for whatever reason.

I'm pretty sure Namie was invited for example, but she declined her offer as she's being doing over the years.

oh ayu, she has to preform first as to hurry off to her coundown concert right? This years Kohaku was entertaining but I felt lots of people were missing. Flumpool debuts early and tops Ayu??? Huh I wish shirogumi would have preformed first... Kids kouhaku was really kawaii too :)
