Ellen has opened up a segment about promoting international singers on her show and I was thinking it would be awesome if ayu could get promoted on there :D

Ayu on Ellen would be the greatest thing ever. 2 of the greatest people in the world together on one show. :D Ellen is great; hilarious and inspirational. This could mean something big for Ayu's US promotion if she gets on the show!

Oh....I think Ayu would be WAY to busy to go...the way avex overworks her...x_x I voted for someone a little closer to the US

uhhh I think it would be terrible actually :no I doubt Ayu would do it and I don't think she needs to be made a fool of... Gosh even Hikki would not fit in either... let's leave it to American artists to go on shows like that...

^^I agree with you about not being able to envision Hikki (let alone Ayu) on Ellen. I mean Hikki might at least understand Ellen's sense of humor-- but I don't think Ayu would.

I also think it would be degrading for Ayu (or anyone as famous as her in a foreign country) to go on a show like Ellen... I don't want to say they'd make it seem like no one knows Ayu, but they'd make it seem like she's less significant than she really is, I think. That's what American programs/interviewers do with Hikki anyway. They make her seem a lot less noteworthy than she really is-- "She's sold xx number of albums-- but let's compare her to a crappy American act! :D"

It's okay to treat Hikki like that though, in my opinion since in the US she's actually a "separate" artist and starting a new slate. It would not be okay if she was being promoted as Utada Hikaru. xD

For those who are saying that Ayu would not be able to handle an interview with ellen-I dont think that Ellen will actually interview this artist that we tell her about...I think it something like a small 5 minute segment were she gives a small bio of who Ayu is some samples of her songs and thats it....and if it is truly that way it would be kind of cool to hear her talk about Ayu even if its just for a minute wouldn't it?....Also as an artist Ayu has probably been trained and prepare to handle all types of interviwers...No matter how awkard she feels inside she could probably act cool and get trought the show without freaking out too much...well I think....no need to trow dead glares at me okay?...^_^

As far as Ayu doing any promotion in the US, it just doesn't seem like she's interested. There's only been talk about it around the Secret era, and nothing since then.
I'm not saying I don't WANT her to at least do a concert here, but I just doubt it will happen.

The Dragonball movie was an international joke...:shakehead It singlehandedly ruined my favorite anime of all time. If Ayu got on singing Rule, I'd much rather them talk about how good the music is rather than some crap movie it was linked to.

I e-mailed as well. Ellen is legendary and is always helping people and she tends to love all kinds of music. I would to see Ayumi on the Ellen show someday. Ayumi is legendary, Ellen is legendary putting two legends in one room. That would be INSANEEEEEE! :P

And don't be such downers, you never know, If Ayumi truly is the person I think she is she will go anywhere to see a fan small or big. It may take her time to get there, but if she's like the old Ayumi she wants to know of all her fans.

I think the audience of Ellen's show would enjoy Ayumi and her songs. There of course will be people outside of that that make fun of her, but from what I've seen Ellen's audience, at home and in studio are just as nice as she is. Ayu is bubbly, fun and energetic, just like Ellen. I think they'd get along great and have alot of fun together.

Whether they have her come on the show or just have a 5 minute spot on her, I'd be happy with either. Her coming on the show doesn't mean that she'd HAVE to sing though. I'm sure they could work something out depending on what Ayu wanted.

If Ayu really goes Ellen show, please Ellen don't make her sing!!!! have interesting games instead!! >_<

Ayu is too big for ellen... ahahha. as much as i love the ellen show, I don't want ayu to be there for any "promotion" thing. there's always some sort of joke when ellen is interviweing her guests, but.. only for heavily western influenced people and such... I find that, if a person who isn't really heavily influenced, it's a little .. insulting.

But it would be good if Ayu and Ellen meet up in Japan wahahahahha.

The show is going to be showcasing international music artists, of course she would have to sing something...>.> Even if her audience listens to it and enjoys it, there are millions of other Americans that watch her show and aren't as accepting of other languages. I would like to see who's leading... I wouldn't be surprised if it is an Asian artist.

And I think Ellen is doing this because she's interested in international music and why we, the fans, love it so much. I don't think she's looking for someone who's trying to break into the American market - not immediately, anyway. She's looking for someone to put onto her American program so us American fans (and anyone else who can watch it) will be happy about seeing one of our favorite, if not our favorite, international artist on our TV.

If Ayu does get chosen, maybe she can fly over during the beginning of a-nation? Like I mentioned in another thread, her tour is ending pretty close around the time a-nation starts, so maybe Ayu can fly to America, perform on Ellen, and then fly back and do her a-nation duties. lol. Or, hey, her schedule at the end of the year is pretty up in the air... Who knows what can happen after July.

^Um....it's obviously not a "who's in the lead" or "how many votes" an artist gets kind-of-a-thing....that's why they have the story section....otherwise people can just spam votes for their Korean boybands....they're looking for songs and an EXPLANATION of why the artist should go or why they are important to you....this is basically the only thing that keeps me hopeful that whoever she chooses will not be a Korean band. Oh and BTW...there is no indication that the recommended artists will even BE on the show...so while this is a great fantasy for Ayu fans (and Utada fans in my case)...it might not even mean an appearance at all...=[ Maybe just a quick mentioning of the artist.

Mmm... not sure, i'd be hard to translate all her sales, popularity, records, achievements, spectacular concerts, dedication for fans, huge and amazing discography in a 5-minute appearance... People may see her like a blonde copycat or sth like that... unless she sings a beautiful ballad

^ Yes, TVXQ. They got it but they're having some issues because their members are separated. Their label doesn't know if they'll be sending them over to the US to be on her show. They will possibly have a segment though, like Ellen will definitely be talking about them and their success.

Nobody is reading the info properly...Tohoshinki has not been invited (and god no...seriously). SM has only said that they have heard about this and they also clearly said that they have received no invitation from Ellen. Ellen's camp, meanwhile, has sent no invitations out to anyone.

I put 'Dearest' as the song title because it's the first song I heard from Ayumi and the song that got me hooked on her. It'd be cool if Ayumi Hamasaki was actually featured on the show. It'd give her a foot in the door for international exposure.

That's exactly my point. The article falsely claims that "Tohoshinki has been chosen..." really? says who? It's like they're saying "Oh yeah, DBSK has already been chosen, we're just waiting on official confirmation." There is no evidence of that. Neither Ellen nor SM has confirmed this. So where has this "chosen" status originated from? The amount of "votes" (most of which are walls of spam...DBSK DBSK DBSK DBSK over and over) they got? This is just another Korean media attempt at stirring up some news. Don't get me wrong. I am not a fan but I also believe they have a high chance of being chosen. I'm just pointing out the misleading information that's all. Not blaming you for saying that they have been selected :P Please don't take it the wrong way

Can I say YUCK, EWW, and gross? Of all groups why is Tohoshinki even in the top 1 million? I'm not a fan of boy bands what-so-ever. I prefer "men" myself. Still not the point if ANY boyband were chosen I'd hope it's Arashi. I'd prefer Ayumi Hamasaki as she is the queen of beautiful music in Japan and known throughout Asia, Europe, even in America. Where are the fans hiding? They should be sending in requests like crazy. I know Ayumi Hamasaki is bound to have millions and millions of fans, why are they so silent? Common sense would say that Ayumi has more fans than Tohoshinki. :(! :(! This really depresses me. I've never had a Tohoshinki song move me like an Ayumi song :(!

Hey guys. I was surfing the web a while ago and I stumbled upon the official site of Ellen Degeneres. Coincidentally, I found out that she was looking for international artists to appear as a guest on her show. You know, I never thought a chance like this would come but I think this is a sign that Ayu should visit America this year 2010.

As much as I want to fill out the form too, it looks like only US-based citizens can recommend Ayu in the site. Anyhow, I hope you guys will spread the word around. I'm still unsure myself wether I would like to see Ayu in the American music scene but I suppose there's no harm in trying to spread the fandom in the states. :)

It is just a talk show. She is not releasing an album here. Americans can learn about her and if they are interested, hopefully they will become fans like us. If not, there is no harm.

I would not like to see Ayu in this talk-show-Oprah-style... imo American TV look like a circus all the time using artists (guests) as their "clowns" to make jokes during the full interview, that's shameful, when they respect her guests then I'll say yes! (btw, our Spanish TV is just embarrassing :eviltongu)

Of course I wanna Ayu to visit America, she loves LA, SF, NYC, LV, Hawaii, Miami... but not to go to these TV talk-shows.

I know what you mean. I do share the same opinion with you about certain American shows. Bringing her to Ellen's show was just a suggestion after all. There's this part of me that wants to see Ayu on a talkshow in America & then there's other part saying "No! There's no way Ayu should be on that show!"

Another thing, I think you guys are kind of exaggerating American TV shows. They're not all that mocking lol. Most of the time the shows are just messing around in a friendly way and the guest already has foreknowledge of it I'm guessing :shrug. AND especially not Ellen's show...she's a nice lady and would be very fascinated by Ayu I'm sure! She likes to give any and everyone a chance :yes.
