i just like the name microphone because it makes me think of technology and such things, which makes me think of the electronic direction that the next level album went in.

i would love if she continued in that direction.

We can still hear it, and everyone freaked out and was loving the "Sparkle" short preview when we got it too because we could still hear its awesomeness.

I like Microphone. It sounds dark, gothic, and different for Ayu. Sorta Jrockish in some parts. The low quality clip, and the low volume of the song compared to the high volume of everything else makes it hard to make a good judgement. I like it so far. The vocals aren't anything new, more yell-singing. Still it's a song that I think I'll enjoy.

hmmm. The arrangement really sounds cool and interesting! It does sound like Kiss O' Kill, but I'd be all for a part 2 of that song. :) It's hard to get a feel for her vocals because they sound low; could be the quality or that they are buried in the mix; hopefully its just the quality because otherwise they sound pretty weak imo.

It definitely sounds like a mix b/w the low quality, the voice speaking over her and the fact that the sound of the song is low in general. Besides, the song could end up sounding completely different and polished on the album. Isn't that what happened to Sparkle? (And definitely 1 LOVE if I remember correctly.)

I keep hearing people say it sounds like kiss o' kill. I didn't really listen to kiss o' kill so I wouldn't know. It doesn't sound like any of her previous songs to me.

I have a feeling this was recorded [the CM snippet] in December/early January, and then she left for London to film PVs for this and the Lumix CM. However, they left barely any time to shoot a new commercial for the Spark... (she does seem to have done the Lumix CM in the time that she did have though)

Unless they'll unveil a new look or something in a bit after she DOES film a new commercial.

I'd say only the organ part is kiss o' kill-ish, and the rest is pretty... unique, haha. Such a Gothic-y sound for Ayu~

As for the title, it'll probably make more sense when the full song is released. People weren't too hot about STEP you when it first came out...
