Ayu wearing McQueen and other British designers!
 

It was brought up in the Enquiries section since Alexander McQueen passed away whether or not Ayu had mentioned anything about him, and someone a week or two before this person asked... Ayu had worn two (or more?!) McQueen pieces from Fall 2009 in Sexy little things' PV! qumomomo brought it up in the other thread, but I figured that people probably wouldn't recheck it... so here are some photos of McQueen pieces that Ayu has worn in memory of Lee 'Alexander' McQueen. Feel free to discuss. I'd have put this in the "photos/images" section, but I figured that it had more to do with McQueen than Ayu.

very interesting...although i wish she had kept the black and white outfit intact! the skirt is way cuter than the black pants she is wearing in the pv shots. and the weird hair thing she is wearing...

oh well, these outfits are gorgeous nevertheless.

I think she would've kept the skirt but it seems like she moves around a lot in that section of the PV, so I don't think a skirt would've been appropriate, haha.

I actually like it more with the black pants...it makes the jacket stand out even more.

Everything was before he passed away. He passed away on 02/11/2010, Ayu filmed her PVs about 10 days+ before...

omg that's a big coincidence. I onl recently got to know more about him and i think he's fashion is brilliant...and Im hyped that Ayu is wearing so many of his clothes in Sexy little things...

Maybe... I wonder if it's possible that part of her recent depression-like symptoms could've been after finding out that McQueen passed away? I mean, she wore his clothes basically less than 2 weeks before he took his own life.

I always thought that his outfits were really really cool, though sometimes they were too overpowering, kinda like that white and black dress top and skirt. I think that Ayu putting the top with the black pants makes me appreciate it so much more. I do love that she can take bits and pieces of high fashion clothing and just put something together, even toning it down if necessary.

I really love his clothing though; it's a real shame he's gone :(

Perhaps the video is a tribute to him. I can't see her dedicating the entire album to him... if she did, she'd have to add a bit about Michael Jackson too. Then it'd get out of hand.

He died two weeks after the PV was shot though.

Oh Ayu <3 I'm sure she'll look STUNNING in the McQueen for this PV, but this thread just broke my heart all over again.

The only thing I can remember is the touching line in the GUILTY album, but that was a very close friend, not a designer whose clothes she wore. And we didn't hear anything from her about MJ either (right? Or did I miss that).

No idea, haha. As for Dearest, her friend was still alive at the time, so... -shrug-

We probably won't get a dedication, but it'd be touching/neat.

Dearest was written in 2001. Her friend got ill/whatever/passed away in 2007.
I think Dearest was about her feelings towards herself and the music world if anything.

It is not 50 famous British people. It is over 50 models and musicians [professional ones]... the drummer is a professional drummer, the models are pro male models it seems, and I'm gonna guess that she has a lot more models and musicians to show us in the PV, haha. (And... all... male... which should say something about the lyrical content, maybe.)

It's not coincidence I think. She's wearing the original McQueen. She's a diva you know that. Plenty of money to spend just for her PV.
