maybe some of you have seen this, i'm not sure. her name is ミラクルひかる (Miracle Hikaru) and she's well-known for doing Utada but she does other artists as well. she's pretty funny most of the time. anyway, i found this video on youtube of her imitating ayu. lol

LOL, this is too funny. I wish the Ayu one was longer, ha ha.

But the Hikki one is perfect! If I didn't know I would have totally thought it was Hikki being goofy. Lol.

HAHAHA! it's too much for me. i laughed so hard at the hikki one. there are lots of other videos of her on youtube imitating different people. this one she did of 持田香織 (Mochida Kaori from Every Little Thing) made me laugh too. LOL

Sorry, but I think, that's actually an insult to Ayu. I mean, to me it seems like that she wants to make fun of Ayu's voice.

Or maybe I just have a different kind of humor, but I can't laugh about these videos.

I always find those sorts of imitation videos as insults to the artists, not because it's an imitation but because they see something 'wrong' and they make it worse. It's kinda insulting.


On the other hand, that little girl was just soooo cute!

she's doing that in the nite club and in the mall? for the Starting one is funny but when i watch it again i find it's irritating :irked she makes thing even worst that Aaaaaaa-aaa sounds like a old goat :dead2

OH MY GOSH. The Hikki one, with Flavor Of Life.... Holy crap!!! :thud I've never heard anybody else in the world besides Hikaru do that awkward, strained vibrato-thing, until now!! :laugh That girl is amazing. If I just glanced at her, and just listened to her voice, I would have sworn she were the real thing!


Yeah, it's supposed to be making fun of them, but in an endearing way, if that makes sense. XD It's common place in Japan to pick a popular singer and make an act out of their flaws, hah. But not because they don't like them, like some cultures would. Japan picks the people they love (like Ayu and Hikki). It is a kind of humour you either have or you don't, though, true. :shrug

^ yep! exactly. it's all in good fun. it's not like "oh, i hate that stupid ******! i'm gonna make fun of her and embarrass her!!!" no harm intended.

however, in the Kaori video...the guy says "aren't you like making fun??" she shakes her head no and replies "good evening! i AM Mochida Kaori." haha

as for the kaori thing...yeah, it's quite sad. i never understood how people constantly attack ayu for her voice when kaori's has gotten 1000x worse over the years. LOL

I can't believe some people think these comedians are insulting Ayu. :laugh I think Japan's humor is much different than any other country. We all know Ayu exaggerates her vibrato, and that's the main point of what any comedian making fun of her does.

i hate miracle hikaru. years ago, when I first got into utada, I didn't know who she was. she looks/acts/talks exactly like utada. only way you can tell them apart is that miracle doesn't speak a word of english, and her singing sucks. anyways. She did a cover of sakura drops by hikki. and she wore the exact outfit as in the pv, with the purple flower petals and all. and I almost cried cause I was like "This is utada? T_____T what happened! she sounded so beautiful in the pvs!" I didn't know it was miracle haha.

the only time I ever found her even 1/4 decent was when she did hikki's final distance. and that was cause she was serious and focused.


EDIT: omg i actually found the video. I have not seen this video in years. It was the first miracle hikaru performance I ever saw and mistook it as hikki lol. she looks exactly like hikki. haha i have no idea how she does it.

miracle looks a lot like Hikki. But her nose not Hikki's :P

I love watching impersonations of J-Pop acts! Miracle Hikaru is astounding - the fact that she looks soooooooo much like Hikki and sounds like her too! It's crazy!
