What was the first Japanese song you ever heard?
(sorry if there's already one of these..search isn't working.)
How did you come about hearing it, and what did you think?

Mine:

I first heard Hiro no Tsuki when i was nine years old, watching Outlaw Star with my brother.
I had no idea what language it was, but I thought it was soo beautiful :love

i didn't know who she was back at the time that was new, but my friend told me to listen to it, and i loved it

SAKURA Drops by Utada Hikaru. I downloaded her first three albums and played them in alphabetical order lol.

First Japanese song was COLORS I think. Utada Hikaru pretty much introduced a lot of people into the world of J-Pop xP

First Japanese song that I know was Simple and Clean by Utada.

Umm either Come/Dearest/Fukai Mori from Inuyasha

mine was BoA's amazing kiss!! i accidently downloaded the vid when i was 11 orsomething and i loved it! id always watch it over and over!! but that was it :P oh! and i remember thinking that the clothes were sooo ugly :roflmao i didnt listen to other boa or other asian songs. only the amazing kiss vid XD till i was 14 or something i began watching anime and i found out about the asian world :lech XD

Don't remember if it was Ayu's RAINBOW or Hikki's Automatic

My first song by a J-Pop artists was Simple and Clean by Utada Hikaru (thanks to Kingdom Hearts)

But my first Japanese song I heard was Koda Kumi's real Emotion

First japanese song I ever heard in my life without intentionally knowing it because it was the beginning/ending of an anime was probably Boa's Every Heart.

I can't really remember but I'm sure it was either an ayumi , Koda Kumi , Utada Hikaru or a Tackey & Tsubasa no.

these were the 1st 4 jpop acts I came across

I probably came across one when I was very young but didn't know it. The first I knew of was Butterfly by Wada Kouji.

uhhhh...some Inu-Yasha end theme. LOL.
