Yeah, I heard this song in chaku uta form and was like... "DUTY."
Except this is better, haha. -hides- |
thank you :heart

Definitely resembles a cross between Duty/GUILTY. Very sad lyrics, quite an ominous undertone, driven by rock. Yet, I love it, for the way Ayu seems to genuinely channel her emotions and outlook, despite whether they're pretty or not. |
"I'll accept it as it is"... that really speaks to me. She's so strong!

思いこがれた桃源郷は強くてとても冷たい風が
This is the Japanese line. maikaru previously translated this as Shangri-La. Quote:

Thanks masa!
Wow...this is one of my favorite lyrics of this album. I can really relate to this song. About the "Xanadu" part.. maybe Shangri-La should be used still? I think it's a more well-known term. I've personally never hear of the word "Xanadu". |
Most people know of Xanadu as the song / Olivia Newton-John movie, haha.
Either would work imo. I guess it just depends on people's preference in the end. Xanadu? Shangri-la? Paradise (on Earth)? |
the lyrics feel very painful even to read them silently...but they are really awesome
|
I'm gonna love this song
|
I wonder why she named it count down...countdown to deafness?
|
It's a "count down" to the end, I suppose.
I heard a lot of beep beep beeps like from when alarms go off due to countdowns ending during the song. It's not to deafness since her other ear is fine, but just... I suppose the end of her career a la Duty? |
'On my left side' ...
On Ayu's left side. Isn't Peco usually on her left side? (j/k) Thanks for the translation! It's a beautiful song. |
thanks a lot masa^^

You are welcome.
Tougenkyou (桃源郷) is a paradise-like village which was supposed to be deep in the mountains in China. Tou (桃) means "peach". So it's a word with Asian image. There are several English words corresponding to this ---"Xanadu", "Shangri-la", "Lotus-land", "Ideal world", "Utopia", etc. Which do you think is the most suitable to this song? I'd like to hear your opinions. I changed some parts. woke me up and disappeared --> woke me up, and at the same time, disappeared If you are in the abyss --> Supposing you are in the abyss Sonna koto wa daiji ja nai no Motto hoka ni aru no --> Sonna koto wa daiji ja nai no motto hoka ni aru no (This means that I changed the romaji part from 5 lines to 4 lines.) |
Utopia sounds the most.. common and comprehensive among all the choices imo. and thank you again for the translations
|
I think I would prefer Utopia as well, or even Shangri-La too.
I love the lyrics, thank you so much. |
Thanks a lot masa! This is cool :D
|
wow! Xanadu?? XDD
nwey yeah really Duty-ish and soo sad at the same time.i wonder if Ayu really thinks about her ear when writing this~ thanx massa, love it <333 |
Hmm...the whole "left side" thing does seem a bit weird.
I guess it could reference her ear. While reading, though, my thoughts initially went to UNITE! (Freedom in the right hand, Love in the left). |
These lyrics are really intriguing. Thank you again, masa, for translating!
