Yeah if you have two idols like me, not very good for your wallet.

truehappiness 4th September 2012 03:23 AM

Well, I think the PLAYBUTTONS are really worth it... they're nice little mini collectibles! I wouldn't get ALL of them but maybe one or two, haha.

ayuuk 4th September 2012 05:11 AM

^Wow, you are You & Me initiate!!

SURREAL__RAINBOW 4th September 2012 05:44 AM

I only have 3 and I'm happy with them, RAINBOW, NEXT LEVEL and RnRC, my favorite albums ever :P I perhaps should get GUILTY too, but meh.

I don't regret getting them at all, I adore them :love

~angel*ayumi~ 4th September 2012 07:59 AM

Also have 3 ^^ (Party Queen, I am... + Love Songs) But I am planing to get Rainbgow too, and maybe Duty when I have money again^^

I love these buttons, so cute! I'd love to purchase them all actually, but I don't have the money at the moment :P Besides, I'd still like to have all the CD's, so I'd first buy them and after that buy playbuttons. But I remember a time when I wanted all the singles in every version possible but now that thought feels ridiculous so maybe this playbutton-face shall pass.

ayuuk 5th September 2012 03:46 PM

^I know that feeling. At one time I purchased all versions as well but maybe sometime this year I found that's a lot of money. But still can't resist Playbuttons. Haha~

LacusClyne 6th September 2012 09:41 AM

Was at tower records and tsutaya Shibuya last week, on 29th to buy AKB48 Gingham Check singles, but these play buttons were nowhere to be found. I wanted to help a friend get the Party Queen play button actually, oh well.

So some of my Playbuttons will charge, others will not. Do people know if they need their batteries changed after a few years? I plug them into the usb and connect them fine but the light won't turn on to show it's charging. Does anyone else have this problem?

ayuuk 11th March 2015 07:16 AM

^For me some PBs have light on when being charged, some without light on. Dunno why though.

I am curious how long you have to charge it to make its battery 100% again~~

These are so cool.. I'd buy one just to show it off. Nothing will ever replace my COWON but this is just too good!

kind of very late to only see this thread now, omg..

I just got ASFXX playbutton at the CD booth at entrance to 5/2 Just the beginning -20- concert, and the playbutton doesn't work?
I charged it (there is light), plug and re-plug in headphones, no matter which button I press, I don't hear any sound...

anybody has any advice to help? T_T

visionfactory 15th February 2018 04:15 AM

^Just keep trying, mine always worked and some day it was dead, I charged it and pressed all buttons and got nothing, I tried next day and it worked perfectly lol

Don't lose hope

Earth_maiden 16th February 2018 07:18 AM

playbuttons are the worst invention. I have 10 that are utterly useless because they stopped working. The only one that works is my LOVE AGAIN one.

Andrenekoi 16th February 2018 09:16 PM

Everytime I considered buying one, it was only because I like the designs @_@

I read the sound is not very good, is it?

kendelle 17th February 2018 01:20 AM

I do remember hearing the sound was pretty average, 320k or below? Personally I can't really tell much between bit rates but I'm honestly glad I never bought into them.

Taking a look back over the first pages of the thread it's kind of depressing that they were marked as a limited item in 2012 but they still have stock to sell :(

The Playbutton was an audio format with an MP3 player built into a badge, and was launched in 2011 by the Playbutton company.

One of the ideas behind Playbutton was to be able to display your music choice in the form of album artwork by wearing the Playbutton on your clothing.

Inside, the Playbutton contains a 256 MB memory card, enough for one album’s worth of music. On the back, the only controls were for volume, play, next-track or previous-track. The headphone socket also doubled as a means of charging the Playbutton or changing the music on the device. The front of the badge was fixed, and could display an image of the band whose music was contained on the Playbutton, or bulk orders could be made with a customised image for events such as weddings.

A small number of albums were released on Playbutton.

The Playbutton website was taken down in late 2014.

^Well, it was a pretty bad decision from the begining, and it was obvious the Playbutton would become the kind of stuff only hardcore collectors would be interested in (what make it kinda nice the designs are actually pretty cool). On the age of digital music, an overpriced music device that can only play the same songs was a choice.

Kinda like the USB Drive for Next Level. A cool collector item that clearly wouldn't be a selling hit even during her peak.

hmm i also got the USB drive.. xD
just that didnt really find a suitable necklace to wear it.. and maybe also 'cause it's heavy to wear around the neck imo so i wasn't really looking for one so enthusiastically lol

truehappiness 20th February 2018 02:58 AM

Better to hang the USB on a bag or something.
