why is the jewelcase of my next level copy green?
 

I just ordered next level (cd only) from amazon and was very surprised that my jewel case is green.
after a bit of research I noticed that these seem to be limited edition? what exactly does that mean? first press?

I don't quite understand their decision, because you can't see the album art as nicely :(

At that time when NEXT LEVEL was released , different coloured cases for each edition were the 1st press aspect of the album

In this case ,

CD only - green
CD + DVD - blue
CD + Live CD + DVD - pink
USB - yellow

Anyway for you , it's nothing to worry about . I'm surprised you're still able to get the 1st press of the album even though it was released 8 years ago

we're people eager to get the coloured jewel cases? doesn't seem so special apart from it obscuring the beautiful cover art... meeeh

The green one is the most darker, blue is light darker and pink is very light.

Right now I say it's rare especially since you bought it from Amazon without knowing you got the coloured jewel case

Was there any description to say it's 1st press or no ?

Oh wouldn't surprise me if people do have all 4 versions with the different coloured cases

At least 1st press aspect wise , it's different unlike digipak and/or slipcase which tend to be the norm 1st press nowadays

it didn't say anything about first press on amazon; I wasn't even aware that coloured cases existed (apart from the USB version)

I've seen the first press green CD Only on ebay time ago, I don't remember if it was used or new, but was cheap. And I got my CD+DVD blue version in new condition from a japanese seller in amazon.co.uk time ago for a cheap price. Usually they have first press used or in new condition.

I got my pink version (CD+DVD+live CD) for about only 800 yen last month at Amazon. It's still available btw.

Man...8 years ago. So crazy to think how much time went by.

Green was my favorite one, but I have pink and yellow. Yellow was readily available at the earlier tour dates, which is where I was able to buy it. :)

I managed to get the pink 3 disc one.:yes
I also bought it for about $15 brand new and it was the Japanese version.
The blue one is really pretty though.

I preordered my copy of the album a few weeks before it ever released on CDJAPAN. I got the blue colored case and a HUGE (like more than twice the size of the normal B2 ones) Next Level textless poster with mine.

Mine is green as well, I bought it really cheap at a local store bran new, it looks amazing!

I associate the colour green with this album...possibly because of the song GREEN (great song!)

I love the album LOTS and the colourful artwork and cases <33
