BANNED title...

what happens if a BANNED user tries to post in a forum? If the person changes his/her name but registers in AHS again, would that person be able to post? I noticed a user -Unimatrix Prime- got banned, whats the consequences?

stardusties 27th August 2005 05:02 AM

that's confused me too...[unless you're not confused..then it's just me..]

PickleCookies 27th August 2005 05:04 AM

When a user is banned, they do not have access to the forum (besides the general ones like Ayu chat and Ayu News), and they do not have the access to post.
I have first-hand knowledge of this, so trust me.

Mad_Cactuar 27th August 2005 05:09 AM

ok... pickle cookies, you know about that :shakehead ? haha.. thanks

PickleCookies 27th August 2005 05:10 AM

Yes, I have been one of the few people who have been banned from the forum. Though for me, it was only a week. For someone like Unimatrix Prime, it's permanent.

MariachiGurl2005 27th August 2005 05:12 AM

wow... i didn't know that chuck... so, jose is gone forever? I wonder what he did...:think

Mad_Cactuar 27th August 2005 05:13 AM

wow, scary.. they must have commited an unholy sin to get banned...

PickleCookies 27th August 2005 05:14 AM

He was belligerent, but I'm not going to give the details since it's not my place to say.

MariachiGurl2005 27th August 2005 05:15 AM

i guess that' no one's place to explain this :yes

PickleCookies 27th August 2005 05:24 AM

Ask the staff, they might be able to give more details.

MariachiGurl2005 27th August 2005 05:36 AM

Mad_Cactuar 27th August 2005 06:38 AM

If a banned person re-registers under a different name that account will also be banned.

Mad_Cactuar 27th August 2005 02:51 PM

but will i get banned if i use a swear word or start a hate thread? or will i just get a warning?

boogieordie 27th August 2005 05:17 PM

These are the froum rules: http://www.ahsforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=33393

They clearly outine why someone can be banned. In the two cases where people (read: people, not users) have been permanently banned the action was the absolute last resort. Both people were banned for behavior that occured over the period of more than a year. Both received multiple warnings telling them to the bad behavior, but they did not comply and were eventually banned after much deliberation. Mad_Cauter and people new to this forum: this explaination should be sufficient for you. All others: The specifics of this have been convered months ago and WILL NOT be covered again. I'm sure that ALL parties concerned would rather move on from it. I certainly know that I do.

No one will be banned for no reason, or without warning. If someone is on the edge of being banned, they WILL be aware of the situation, because in most cases if it's even possible to ban them they would have been warned, usually over many months.

Major incidences, such as posting pornography warrant a temp ban without prior warning. Hacking the forum will result in an automatic permanent ban without warning. No one was recieved a permanent ban without warning to date.

To explain this further:

There are certain forums here at AHS that are open to all users, whether they are registered or not. The dowloads forums and the board forums are examples of the ones that aren't viewable to guests/users that aren't logged in. So when a person is banned, they can no longer log in to access those forums or to post, edit, delete, etc. If you log out you can see that there are less forums displayed than when you are logged in.

how do u know if an initiate is banned for a week or two??

will it say under their avatar?

PickleCookies 28th August 2005 01:54 AM

Their "initiate" title will change to "Banned"

Qt Mashi 28th August 2005 02:00 AM

how would u know the difference if they are permanently banned?

Warnings and punishments, including bannings, are given confidentially. The Staff consider such things as taking place between them and the member involved, and will never publicize them. The only way you could know is if that person chose to tell other members.
