[romaji & translation] BRILLANTE
Anata o omotte tsuzuru no wa kore de
Saigo ni suru koto ni shita wa Riyuu o tsuge nai sore ga saidai no Atashi kara no okurimono Omotta yori mo hito wa zutto tsuyoi mono ne Sukoshi nagaku yami no naka ni ita kedo Sorosoro iku wa Nani mo mie naku natta sono ato de Subete mieta Tsuzuku michi wa sema sugite hitori kiri de Aruku shika hoka ni nai no Itami ga souzou no hani o amari ni Koete shimatta toki ni hito wa Naite mi tari sakende mi tari Dekiru chikara wa nokotte nanka mou nai no ne Hitasura mu ni osowa reru no ne Futatsu datta mono ga hitotsu ni natte Futatsu ni natta tada sore dake no koto ne Tada moto ni modotta dake no koto yo ne Nani mo mie naku natta sono ato de Subete mieta Tsuzuku michi wa sema sugite nou narande Aruite wa ike nai no yo ... -------------------------------------------------- I decided that this is my last time to write Thinking of you I don't tell you the reason This is the biggest present from me A human is much stronger than I thought, isn't he? I've stayed in the darkness a little longer But it's time to go I couldn't see anything After that, I saw everything The road ahead is too narrow And I have no choice but to walk alone When the pain becomes Far beyond the reach of imagination There is no more energy left To be able to cry or shout A human is entirely caught in nothingness, isn't he? What had been two became one, and became two It's no more than that We've just come full circle, haven't we? I couldn't see anything After that, I saw everything The road ahead is too narrow And I can no longer walk on, side by side with you ... |
Thx a lot masa!!!
My favorite song in FIVE by far... |
it seems to be epic both in PV lyrics & music
great please make more!!! I've missed ayuhits like this :luv2 |
thank U! Amazing lyrics!
|
The lyrics are truly amazing. I absolutely LOVE this song!
|
Love the lyrics, thank you masa.
|
Thank you!
|
i wonder what the corelation between the title and the lyrics
|
Thank you!!
I love this song!! :heart |
You are welcome.
I change one line like this I came to see nothing --> I coundn't see anything |
Amazing lyrics!
Thanks for sharing! |
what's good with the chanting in the PV?
|
By the way, I can't catch the chorus part at all. What language is it and what is the meaning? Could someone translate it into English?

Thanks for the lyrics and translation! Someone should add some electric guitars and the song would be taking a step in the direction of symphonic metal.
|
Still haven't heard this either but I know I will like the song because of the lyrics eventually. <3 Thank you for the translation :)
|
to me the chanting part is like a few languages in one....

beautiful lyrics! Thanks, masa!
|
Beautiful and sad... I wonder who it is she's breaking off from?
|
Such a beautiful song ~ Very haunting
Thanks masa for translating ^-^ |
There are two typos in the translations atm~
Quote:
When the pain becomes far beyond the reach of imagination And the phrases: Quote:
I couldn't see anything... after that, I saw everything Also, I'm not sure if this line makes sense? Quote:
Thanks again as usual for these! |

Thanks for your advice. I corrected the spelling mistakes. I don't tell you the reason -- Riyuu o tsuge nai I won't tell you the reason -- Riyuu o tsuge nai darou I feel that the English lines on the left correspond to the Japanese lines on the right. But I'm not sure of that because I'm not a native speaker of English. Would you tell me the reason why "I don't tell you the reason" sounds unnatural to you? |
The video and the song seem to allude to her tapering off in the industry...? I know she wrote a lot about love for her fans on Ls, and talked a lot about the end of the road on RnRC, but BRILLANTE reads and views as though Ayu is expressing grief for the great love she and her fans once shared.
The PV feels the same way. Especially the scenes of her on the throne with Leslie Kee, who seems to reassure her that she is still very much here but that this is fate. |
I also think the chanting is Latin.
Also, beautiful lyrics. |
Beautiuful lyrics~
thx masa :) |
Seems to me this is about coming together after great hardship, and to find strength in pain. It seems pretty clear what it may be alluding to.
|
You are welcome.
I changed the line arrangement, according to the original lyrics. |
hi masa..
i think the "tha pain" and "coundn't" should be corrected again.. and would the last line sound more appropriate in "And I can no longer walk on, side by side with you ..."?? just my two cents :) |
this is one of her darkest lyric ever. Love it so much. Thanks Masa

Wow, this is intense. o_o Thanks, masa for posting the lyrics.
|
the chorus is not latin, from what we can guess it's a made-up language.
The ending chant is actually saying "goodbye" in many languages Geia sas (Greek) Lah korn (Thai) Adiós (Spanish) Alvida (Hindi) ? Auf wiedersehen (German) Do svidania (Russian) Au revoir (French) (+ do svidania again?) |
Quote:
|
We heard 3 "goodbyes" our first few listens: Adios, Au revoir, and Do svidania. I't scool to have them cataloged because I'm sure it will become a FAQ.

Touching song, the lyrics are truly amazing!
Thanks for the translation. |
I think there's a mistake here :

My mistake. I correct the part. The translation doesn't change. Thank you.

Before I looked at the lyrics, I thought that BRILLANTE was a song about how 'brilliant' humans progressed through the years. ~I KNOW weird, weird! I never knew it was this dark... And the chanting at the end adds to the end of ayu's dialogue. I like how thoroughly well-thought they made this. I have to be honest, when I first heared that girl or guy chant I thought that he was talking in a self-invented language. The beginning is a bit complicated for me though. |
Thank you!!!

Could it be about the dog she lost? Crea?

I don't think the song was about CREA but I'm not dismissing the idea. CREA was her pet, not just a dog.
Also, can someone translate that part of the song? (Lansa, tuliansa. Elumerra, tuliensaro matirue...) |
^^I understand that completely, about CREA being a pet. Even so, the lyrics are too intense.
|
Maybe the best song of FIVE
|
They don't even make sense if it was about her dog :laugh
|
I don't think it's about CREA because the line:
Quote:
I dislike interpreting this song, I feel like I'm judging somebody else's personal life. But ayu has always opened up her personal baggage in her music which I think may be quite healthy. |
Ok, I was very bored today and I started to use google translator and I found out that:
Lansa, tuliansa. is translated from the Finnish to English as: Adjust their premises, came to her. But I couldn't find what does the other part mean. Someone who can help? Did you know it? XD |
Quote:
|
^Timmy confirmed it's an invented language... I don't know why people keep trying to translate it after the composer himself said some of the worlds can be find on a dictionary and some can't...
|
^Right, I forgot he already confirmed it. :/

I feel that Party Queen will reflect a lot on Ayu's marriage with Manny. Titles like "how beautiful you are", "Letter", "call", "reminds me", "the next LOVE", "Tell me why", and "Serenade in A minor" give off the immediate sense that Ayumi is using her music to reconnect with fans. I think "BRILLANTE" is an amazing song, and I love that there is so much depth to the lyrics which we are just now coming to realize. If I could give Ayu a standing ovation for both "progress" and "BRILLANTE", I would be applauding her for at least 5 minutes. There really are intense emotions and unbelievable depths to these two songs, things fans can connect to like her early days again, which makes me feel like Ayumi has so many words left to share with us. |
I'm pretty sure except for progress, all of FIVE can be intepreted as written about her eventual divorce.
|
I got the russian line right, than :)

I wonder when it was that Ayu had decided to divorce Mannie? It would make it easier to know if FIVE is really about him, I think.

^^Yeah, it just doesn't fit, imo :)

Geia sas, lah korn, adios, alvida, auf wiedersehen, do svidanya, au revoir, ma'a as-salaama
|
Thx ;)
|
Sure thing :D
|
ahhh I love knowing all the goodbyes. Thanks!
|
Timmy just told me there's a goodbye before Greek as well, so I'll go investigate again~
Edit: And it seems it was Portuguese 'Adeus' and not Spanish ^^ |
Great! It was frustrating not knowing the last "goodbye". I've been scratching my head on that one for a long time on that one.
|
Timmy hinted another "goodbye", and with the help of Aura-chan, we got it!
The order now is: Irish Gaelic, Greek, Thai, Portuguese, Hindi, German, Russian, French, Arabic Slán, Geia sas, Lah korn, Adeus, Alavidā, Auf Wiedersehen, Do svidania, Au revoir, Ma'a as-salaama |

Didn't he deny it being actual languages at once...? lol
|
^ I think he said it about beginning of a song? lansa~ etc
