Because kinki kids are a very popular boy band and they released a DVD today. Basically =P

everyone should calm down!nowadays its hard for an artist to get all straight no.1 for all their stuffs...just like kuu,her new single only debuted at no 2 too...so no surprise that ayu got that too..

well, I think chart isn't everything (I know this is wierd, I said that but I'm here to check this thread), but after 10 years now, hearing Ayu got no.1 again makes me happy, but think it this way, could you list any other Japanese artist who still standing on the top place after a decade?

I'm proud of Ayu.

Ew, KinKi Kids sucks a lot. If it would've been another boyband of Johnny's, I would be happy though. That's all I can say (pure cliche): Go Ayu!

^I think kinki (no one in japan calls them kinki kids anymore) is one of the more talented group of JE. At least their stuff sounds different from the inane pop numbers from other JE bands IMO. And they're more of a duo and they do their own solo stuff too so no band member fillers if u know what i mean. That said, i wish ayu could beat them but she pawns them in album sales any day so DVD would just be icing on the cake.

I knew KinKi Kids always get no.1 but I never thought they will win against Ayu. I love them too, so I got mixed feelings, it's more like who has got more faithful fans than who's just better I think.

Well, I admit, I pre-ordered only KinKi's concert.

#2 is not bad, seeing as she's up against KinKi...I'm happy for Ayu~ :D

Considering this DVD is gonna sell likes, ~40-50k imo, #2 is pretty decent.

#2 is not bad, to be honest I do not think people (including me) really focus on DVD sales of a past music concert. In the U.S. there aren't really charts and rankings for DVD sales of a movie or concert, mostly because numbers for such things don't really matter. What only matters is if its a strong seller

Hear, hear (or in the internet's case, Read, read!)! It's the quality of the sold product, not the quantity of the product's sales that matters.

Yeah notice that theres box office rankings for when movies come out in theatres but theres no DVD sales rankings when the movies do get released for distribution. Its really because no one cares lol. They will record how much revenue is accumulated through DVD sales or how strong the sales are, but theres no competitive ranking system for it

And if u look at kinki discography, this is one of their VERY few dome concert releases. Most of the times, they have a tour n don't release anything so their fans must be going crazy. On the other hand, ayu releases every tour (except TA ones) and i'll give this DVD 45k.

It was their F album. It was released one week after RAINBOW but still couldn't catch that number 1 spot.

When I was in Tokyo it was the first DVD under the "CHART" section and they had multiple copies in HMV. It was also playing outside of another DVD/CD shop.

I'm not sure but I think DVDs have only top 30/50.

DVDs can sell really low before dropping out though. If it's a popular DVD, as long as it sells 500 or more, it'll be in the chart still. :o

AT07 has sold 74k so far.

It'll probably go on to do MAYBE 80k. If this CDL outsells it, it'll definitely be the first time that's happened... like ever.

I don't think it will sell as much as AT07 but hopefully at least close!

I don't think so either, but it deserves to have such high sales with the quality it has.

It'll probably max out at 60-65k.

Though the sales look like they're gonna be pretty good.

Yeah, this really is a high-quality CDL and I mean that in a good way. It's not the "high-quality" feel that AT07 had, which I hate to admit but, I didn't like the way they went about that tour :headache. Something about it just doesn't click with me. I think I might prefer the CDL even!

I think both ayu and kinki suffer from 2nd week spiral syndrome but kinki gets it worse. Both have great sales in the first week and then it all sort of goes downhill...

Lol... But she did use to have strong 2nd week sales. Maybe there's a hype factor involved. Now that she's sort of a veteran in the industry, hype will only come about when a VERY good song is produced.
