MY ALL (Chinese version) released today, 5th anniversary theme for 球球大作战
Looks like they chose 8/8 as a lucky release date for this and for that game a while ago. It seems that it got a tie-up as the 5th anniversary song for "Battle of Balls / 球球大作战" a smartphone game that is similar to agar.io, I believe.
The full version of the song along with lyrics was posted by junshen in the Downloads section! Chinese lyrics were written by 郭德紫毅 or Guo de Ziyi. Seems this person has done a lot of Japanese -> Chinese lyrics. YouTube version is 'unavailable' for now, might work for Japanese users? https://i.imgur.com/yBtBwbx.png Quote:

Didn't expect it to be released that way...
I like ayu's vocal |
Yeah, it's so sudden too. I think her voice sounds really good though it sounds like they did a bit of pitch shifting up on some of the vocals.
It’s been 12 years since original MY ALL, I’ve enjoyed her current voice actually.
Yeah, I really like it too! Some of the Baidu comments seem to be iffy though... some saying it sounds like Hatsune Ayumiku more than Ayu herself, but I think it's better than the Who... Chinese version in terms of how she's singing in Chinese.
This version is really nice, and her vocals are much smoother than I expected. There's definitely been editing but I feel it's for a particular sound than for anything else. Thank you for posting this!
listening to it right now. the pitch-correction is so palpable to me. probably this was recorded at the height of her vocal exhaustion so they had to bring the big guns.

Wow, she sounds very different for sure, but I like when her vocals go that soft-like, I wouldn't mind if she sings more like this in future songs.
I like her voice here. This sounds better than the Who... (Chinese Version).
She really should have turned My All into a single back when... <3
I'm excited about this release. |
I'm glad she dropped her usual act for recording of this song (except for the la-la-la part), even her vibrato sounds natural. The verses sound the best while the chorus sounds like she's out of her comfort zone.
sad to see this important song being used as a tie-up for some chinese game. that’s not right.
I kind of get the vibe that it was meant for something else as well but that got pushed off as a tie-in. This doesn't seem like it's the 'offer' she was talking about when she told us about the song to begin with.
It sounds really nice! Can’t wait to show this to my best friend who is Chinese.

The game made a bit of a poster for the song! https://i.imgur.com/8SEuKRQ.png There was also a Weibo post that goes over how they invited Ayu to do it for the 5th anniversary and how it's such a big song for Chinese fans. In an interesting turn of events, avex started releasing the single today in Japan as well. It's also on YouTube but unavailable at the moment, it seems? Might be usable for people in Japan though. |
Yes it sound a bit random but I imagine that the original project has been affected by the corona if we assume that’s the song was planned for something bigger ? anyway its a good things to me everything she can do for her asian fans is a good thing.
Nice that they release it in Japan too. Not expecting it to have a significant impact on the charts, but it’s still pretty cool!

I think they had already planned on joining TikTok for her anniversary so it was likely separate from that. The 'offer' was something she initially didn't do because it was too hard the first time she did it "last year" sometime in 2019.
It's refreshing to hear her sing an entire song in another language. She did sound different and I had to refer to the lyrics to understand her words though! Nonetheless, it was a big feat!
I do like her voice here, but won't be listening to it as I'm not a fan of Chinese in general ^^; not her Chinese in specific, I have zero ideas if she's pronouncing it right hahaha
I'm seriously fascinated by her voice here, it sounds absolutely nothing like it in the Japanese version. It doesn't sound bad, it just sounds really really different. Not even just from the original but a lot of her other songs.
It's now on Spotify as well! I only wonder why they use 13 years old GUILTY cover on it
^ Probably because it's a song is from GUILTY, even if it's in another language

It's scary thinking about her older discography... like MY STORY is 16 years old this year.

We don't know. The singing contest thing / Sing Tour was brought up separate months before as a "she is our planned guest" and was to film in Japan before the Olympics.
her voice is so powerfull singing in chinese omg
not that high pitch or screaming |
I’d love for her to sing like this in Japanese.
Aww :heart
I'm sorry.. but the voice don`t sounds like Ayu. If I wouldn't know, it is her, I would say, an other singer has sing it. I really can not hear Ayu there.
I think it's similar to how she sounds in English when she sings in Chinese, it's very different. Just how things are sometimes when people sing or speak in another language especially one like Chinese.
to be honest, if I wouldn't know it is Ayu's song, I would never guess it is HER singing this Chinese version, she sounds so much different. No sure if it is a good or a bad thing, just saying ... :)
however, her Chinese is ... ergh ... very mediocre to put it lightly, there are some parts where she is really good but also some parts where I wouldn't even guess she is singing in Chinese. |
Chinese is probably the most difficult to sing if you're not fluent but I think Ayu had more help with this than with Chinese Who.... so it sounds slightly better. When Korean or Japanese artists learn they usually just learn the base 'sounds' but the tones never come through so it all blends.

Some lyrics needed correction, here is the correct version:
Her Chinese pronunciation is absolutely terrible, but I really appreciate her effort!
It's really interesting how much her pitch changes singing in other languages. I actually like the sound! |
Oof, sorry (or not) for bumping old threads left and right, but there seems little point in making a new thread when a perfect one exists already.
So damn, I did not listen to this until day, and it has left me a bit weirded out. Various things I don't really get - the song choice, for instance? Obviously this is a matter of personal preference, but I find the song itself not particularly noteworthy and would have chosen something else certainly for any Chinese ventures. The quality of the Chinese I can't assess as I don't speak it. The vocals, however, also caught me off-guard. I had trouble even recognizing Ayu in there. For me, her awesome voice is a large part of the appeal but that character to me felt lost here. Such a shame. Not going to end up in regular rotation for me, I think :) |

That's true I guess. I wasn't aware of its fan fav status, thanks for clearing that up :)
