can we report law-breaking, offensive PM?

Yes, can we?

I recently received a beautiful hatemail, and I was thinking, if I should report it, instead of having an endless bicker-age through private messaging. And it should also put an end to this puny guy. :)

ImpactBreaker 19th March 2007 05:24 PM

Things that usually happen through pms are not the staff business, since they deal with privacy, etc. We usually encourage people not to bring their pms or P2P arguments to the open discussion forums, because if that happens, that's where we're going to act. You can chose to use the ignore option in order not to receive anymore hate pms and the likes from the offender.
By law-breaking, do you mean a ppm that violates the rules of this forum or that violates real laws?

Keishi 20th March 2007 01:31 AM

AHS rules. She was really offensive at me. So yeah, there. Geez. I thought I could put her AHS existence to an end. Some things she said were really horrendous. Oh well.

immel 20th March 2007 01:34 AM

I think that PickleCookies was punished partly because of the harassment he kept up via PM's over those boards? At least that is what I remember was mentioned from the information that was released to the public about why he was banished.

We received several reports of people reporting pms from him, but that was never a decisive fact for his banning. The staff can't deal with private fights unless they happen in public. What caused his banning were actually the personal offenses he would constantly carry in the public forums. The fact he would attack other initiates through pms of course was bad, and made us more solid about our decision on the ban, but it was never decisive as we can't violate privacy.

And Keishi, why is it that I so can guess who is "her" you're talking about LOL :innocent :laugh Oh well, just put her on ignore.

Keishi 20th March 2007 03:17 AM

LOL. It's pretty obvious which SHE am I talking about. :laugh And I'm pretty sure at least half of AHS know very well which SHE is this. XD

~X2RADialbomber~ 20th March 2007 06:53 AM

I'm sure you'll find worse things said to you in real life, and I'm sure you'd get over it just as easily. Put her on Ignore as ImpactBreaker said, and if she keeps saying crap to you, just remember who's the smarter one for not being an idiot. People who say bad things about other peoples character, values etc are insecure about themselves, so don't worry Keishi~~

DerrickRocks 20th March 2007 09:24 AM

wow lol alot of people have actually got banned from this forum i wonder what was the worse case that happened?

Kodayumi 20th March 2007 09:41 AM

yea, you said it, cause I have absolutely no idea what is going on.

truehappiness 20th March 2007 10:06 AM

You know, you could always just delete the PM and ignore any future PM-communication with the person. :|

It's not like they're forcing you to read it. The point of "private messaging" is to remain private, which is probably why whoever is messaging you with whatever they're saying is doing so.. because it wouldn't be released to anyone, unless it was revealed to a moderator or something through a report..

I really have no clue who she might be, but I'm anxious to know.

Please reveal her nickname.

firefox 20th March 2007 01:06 PM

You cant get her banned just because she doesnt like you nor can you if she send you hate mails.

you could reveal to us what she said, maybe i can copy and paste and send it back to you, cause i never found the time to write you one. j/k

Ehh, do you consicer that's funny?

firefox 20th March 2007 01:21 PM

^ nope. i got a low sense of humour

Keishi 20th March 2007 01:36 PM

It wasn't really a private matter. She could openly said it in public, but she could get banned afterwards for saying it.

Actually, she called me names and she blamed me for being a fan of a particular popstar, and because of me she was involved in a drama about that particular popstar. And she's even got the nerve to say that I got a nerve to call her immature. Hello? :laugh

That's why, I was thinking maybe I could report it to the staff and let the staff have enough evidence to get rid of her from this forum. I know a lot of people is very annoyed at her. Sigh.

emi♡ 20th March 2007 03:34 PM

As much as I'm pretty sure I also don't care for this person, I don't think that pm's should be causes for bannings. I'm pretty sure that we could find other reasons, easily, but she's not worth it...so anyways....she'll probably be banned in the future anyway...just a matter of time...

HybridTheory 20th March 2007 07:14 PM

I don't understand why the mods cannot ban an offensive initiate should the OP forward the PMs?

stickyrice 20th March 2007 07:32 PM

Nothing that hasn't been mentioned already but, the best thing you can do is just ignore whoever the member is. I've done it with plenty of people in the past :D I'm so curious as to who she is... I'm slow :headache
